I mostly watch YouTube channels on Firefox on my laptop, but recently have had to change over to Microsoft Edge browser to watch YouTube. The reason is that during a channel stream, when an ad wants to play, YouTube and Firefox freeze and the only way to exit the screen is to either attempt to close YouTube or even open Task Manager to shut down all instances of the Firefox software. Firefox is by far my preferred browser and I'm frustrated that it is unusable in its current state. I tried to uninstall and reinstall, but this did not work. Thank you in advance for your help.

When I open Firefox for the first time after logging in to my macbook, after a few minutes, a second Firefox icon appears in the dock at the bottom of the screen. Why is this happening (only started a few days ago)? And how do I stop it?

When I press a hotkey that involves Ctrl (ie. opening a new Tab via Ctrl+T or closing one via Ctrl+W) Ctrl sometimes remains stuck until I press it again. This will cause issues ie. when I open a new tab and try to type a new address (or search term), and Ctrl causes new hotkeys to be executed.

I've even tried launching firefox with a new profile, and on safe mode (firefox --safe-mode -p <something-else-than-usual>), so no bookmarks, cookies or extensions should be causing this, and it will still happen sometimes. The annoying part is that this seems to be an issue with performance. It happens less-often with the empty profile and safe mode, but it still happens, especially if I had just opened a new page some tab, causing the most minute thing for firefox to process.

The problem is probably not the computer specs either (below my specs). Indeed, from what I can tell, firefox does not even seem to function particularily slow in any case. Just this ctrl being stuck seems to happen.

I have also tried disabling hardware-acceleration (and explicitly enabling it), no effect.

Other interesting facts I've discovered: - This for sure does not happen in other programs and - This does not happen with the Ctrl for all the keybinds within firefox. For example, Ctrl+A (for select all) does not trigger this

(I have no idea why it's reporting that I'm using Sway, I'm most certainly only using labwc, maybe labwc just reports sway for some programs for compatibility) I've installed firefox from pacman, and my current version is firefox 134.0.1-1

I upgraded my Dell PC to Windows 11 yesterday via Windows Update, since support for Windows 10 is ending. Now Firefox crashes often when I close the browser. Everything works fine while I'm using Firefox, it's only when I close the browser that sometime later I will get a crash message on my desktop. I have tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it, and the problem persists. From what I can tell, there's some process which is ongoing after the browser is closed, which isn't terminating properly and that's why it's crashing. I have downloaded Firefox through the official website and I have installed it through the terminal for Chromebook's Debian Linux.

I have a Chromebook c214ma with a Intel Celeron 4020 with 4 GB ram every single browser on my machine works properly just Firefox keeps closing and crashing

Just over a week ago, I found that a particular page transition always crashed by browser tab (i.e. a reproducible crash). This occurred on the Quora.com website when visiting the 'Questions' tab for any Quora Space. I am not aware of anything special associated with this operation, and it works OK in Chrome. There may be other cases -- outside of that particular website -- but that is the one most affecting me at the moment.

There are no associated Windows events logged. I checked about:crashes and the Crash Report folder but i cannot find any readable details.

If I refresh the page then the transition occurs without problem.

I would like to find the cause myself because I am on an Windows 7 64-bit ESR version, although I do not believe this is an ESR issue as it was working fine a couple of weeks ago. it is just that I cannot find any logged information on the cause.

So, similar to this post but I haven't downgraded, only upgraded.

I can load it up in the morning, load all my standard tabs, then not too long into it a tab will 'crash' and require a reload. The reload then says its a dramatic crash and the whole browser needs to restart. Soft or Hard (i.e. "Exit") restarts always then ask to create a new profile on startup. This means I lose so much configuration (settings, etc) that is not in the Account Sync, meaning huge amounts of time have been wasted setting Firefox back up again every day.

When I go to about:profiles I can see all the old and new profiles (recently cleaned up all the old ones).

I do use my FF Account across various versions of Firefox (run a linux OS that still has a 14x version - need to upgrade OS to get more recent, but its a significant upgrade that had previously failed so not high on my 'want to resolve' list) - all the Windows OS's have the latest FF.

Hey, I've been experiencing my YouTube and Twitch tabs crashing almost every 20-40 minutes and it's been kind of annoying.

Does anyone know if the crashes are because of my drivers or Windows not being up to date? Never had this issue with Opera before.

Firefox crashes constantly when I load it mostly when in youtube though. I notice so I am not sure what is causing it to crash it could be ublock origin as I use that to block ads on youtube that is the only thing I can think of or maybe the return dislike button but here is my crash report below ID bp-8f27f4a1-7ed0-492e-823d-e57af0250304

Yesterday Firefox started crashing tabs on load of a handful of websites that are seemingly random, like Twitter and a few shopping site tabs I had open. It wasn't after a system update or anything, it just started happening while Firefox was already open and those tabs had already been open and loaded. I've tried clearing my cache, site data, reinstalling Firefox, and it still does it. Upon further investigation, it seems to be something regarding libfontconfig, and mostly specific to users of openSUSE Tumbleweed.

When I try to manually delete all my browsing history from the browsing history icon, firefox locks up and nothing happens until I click my mouse button and I get the message box stating that Firefox is not responding and it gives me two choices, close the program or wait for firefox to respond-
