My windows install in my dualboot pc is unable to open at the moment, I can access the windows files from my linux. But i need the firefox data on that pc that I kept. I don't remember which email I used on that account so I'm kind of stuck on getting my data from online. Is there a way to recieve all the data from another drive without opening firefox?

Using arch's latest version. I recently upgraded my firefox version to 117.0, and can't play any videos from different sources.

The image freezes and is in an eternal buffering state.

I tried downgrading to 116.0 and 115.0, and the issue persists, so it doesn't seem to be related to the latest Firefox version.

So far, I've confirmed the same issue in YouTube and Twitch.

On Twitch, the videos are super laggy. The image freezes, then moves to a different scene, freezes again, and then the same thing over and over.

On YouTube, it always shows as loading. If I try to move it to play a different time in the video, it works for half a second and then freezes again.

The issue still occurs if I try incognito mode, troubleshoot mode and refreshing Firefox. I already tried disabling hardware acceleration (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1206076) and have no more ideas or options.

Related to some personal SVG project files. Which are relative large files (containing lots of generated paths and other data).

On the largest of these files I spotted that some general svg-viewer failed with a "XML parse error: cannot load more than 200.000 XML elements" error message.

The same file, when viewed in Firefox (114~, Linux, Mint), also developed some odd hiccup that did not make sense. Unless ...

Is there a similar limitation active in Firefox ?

- I tried to see if "Inspect>Console" gave some potential related message on this. But spotted nothing out of the ordinary. - Searched developer.mozilla.org for any related svg data. But could not find any. - After ditching some data in the effected file, unrelated to the hiccup part, the hiccup disappeared. Suggesting I did hit some svg limit in Firefox. - File size: ~26.5MB. Number of elements: Other than more than 200.000, unknown at this point. (not sure how to count them at this moment either)

I have Firefox 102 ESR in Debian 11 (LXC in Chrome OS). It is the en_US version with Czech spell checking dictionary installed as an add-on. I can switch the spell checker from English to Czech in ordinary text areas by accessing the context menu via a right mouse click.

However, I'm using a proprietary e-commerce system (Shoptet) with a WYSIWIG editor that has its own context menu, overriding the default one in the browser. I can't switch the language for that reason. Is there a way to switch the spell checker language for a particular text area without access to the context menu? Thank you very much.

Hi, Various Sites (sometimes firefox as a whole) keep crashing regularly. I am running Arch Linux (6.4.12, default kernel) with Hyprland WM on an old i7-7700K with a Nvidia GTX980TI. Apart from Firefox the system runs stable. When doing research, or just browsing text based sites, firefox is also very stable, but on some sites like twitch, youtube, or idle games like "Antimatter Dimensions" (ivark.github.io) the browser (or page) crashes regularly. It also happens in Troubleshoot mode, also after a clean re-install (including deleting /.mozilla in /home) and since various versions over the last couple of month. The latest crash report ID is bp-67ed2673-4ed2-452b-bc63-dc1060230831. I know I'm running a niche system, but I really like my setup and apart from those crashes it's amazing, so I hope you can help and point me in the right direction as to what could cause the crashes. My firefox suddenly became very slow after an update. On each web page I have to wait maybe 10s, and nothing happens, and after that all is ok (really fast). Safe-mode didn't help. Thanks, Piero

I've installed a new version of Ubuntu Linux and - as recommended on this page's FAQs - backed up my firefox profile, than copied it into the profile folder on the new os. Now Firefox tells me "You've launched an older version of firefox" and forces me to create a new profile :( Also loading the old profile in "about:profiles" leads to the same result

How can i restore at least my passwords? (When i try to copy only 4.db and logins.json from the old to the new profile, i get the same result)

I can't find an "import old profile"-function anywhere...

I've installed Debian 12 with Firefox 102.12.0esr (64-bit) from scratch instead of Debian 11. Just after it I noticed that all add-ons I used for a long time do not work anymore.

When I go to Menu > Add-ons and themes, I see all add-ons enabled. However, all of them do not work, and they even do not display their icons on the Firefox toolbar as they did before.

A couple of examples of add-ons that do not work: - Enhancer for YouTube - ImTranslator: Translator, Dictionary, TTS

I run Firefox via Firejail sandbox (like I did for years without any problems). All add-ons and settings came to my new system via Firefox sync. I tried to run Firefox directly (without Firejail) and nothing changed, add-ons still do not work. Also, I logged out of my Firefox sync account and reinstalled add-ons on Firefox running directly (without Firejail) and it did not help.

Appreciate your help - how can I enable add-ons in Firefox?

Hi, I have a widescreen monitor and I really like utilizing, well, the width of it. But for the life of me I cannot take out the extension icons from the little jigsaw puzzle. For instance, I'd really like Ublock Origin to be right on the toolbar and not click through the jigsaw icon. I tried setting extensions.unifiedExtensions.enabled flag to false but it did nothing.

As you can see from the screenshot I don't have the new tab button (+), I've seen other users had the same problem in the past and the solution was restoring it from the customization page, but I can't find it there neither.

I'm currently running Firefox v 112.0.2 on Linux. I've had a theme installed for a while now that I really enjoy. It's a minimalist theme I found on github and then I topped it off with some colors that suite my desktop theme.

The ONLY issue I am having is with the dropdown menus. I can't see any of the list items and I cannot for the life of me figure out where to modify these colors. Searching has only gotten me more confused.

Photo is attached. I'm hoping that changing the text color here is an easy fix. The colors are all fine in other dropdown-ish menus, like bookmark folders for example.

Using MX-21.3_ahs_x64 Wildflower. Since upgrading Firefox to version 116.0.3 all links within www.onlinetvrecorder.com do not work anymore. No messages, no hints what happened, just not working. Vivaldi has the same problem, Chrome works. I have asked in mozillazine, but did not get an answer.

I was using Ctrl+K on some websites to do things like site-specific search, task bars, and so forth, but recently Firefox started capturing it for focusing on the search/address bar (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly#w_search).

Is there a way to unbind `Ctrl+K` in Firefox?

I'm trying to install Firefox on a Chromebook. I've done this successfully before. Is giving me the error message curl: (22) The requested URL returned error: 404

Any advice would be appreciated! This is a fresh ChromeOS environment since I just did a factory reset so everything should be clean, and with latest OS version.

HI! I've been trying to install Firefox on my new Acer Chromebook by following this article: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/run-firefox-chromeos. However, whenever i get to the last step, it says "no remote refs found similar to firefox". I have no idea what i'm doing at this point, any help?

Currently Firefox is redirecting http://localhost:8080 to http://localhost:8081 , each time when type the address in the URL address bar.

I have been working with a container wordpress. I have tested in chrome the address http://localhost:8080 and all works fine.

How can we fix that problems, thanks in advance.

Is there any reason firefox would flag an mp4 file legitimately?

• The file extension and file type are absolutely mp4.
• There seem to be no mp4 related zero days.

Does Firefox perhaps just treat all downloads from suspicious domains as malware? Is there a zero day I missed? Is this based on some missing metadata on the file or something?

i cannot print any web page from Firefox. The print option only offers me the option to save as PDF. Firefox is not detecting either my Brother laser printer or my Epson inkjet printer. if i use the print using system dialogue option fire fox shows a printer screen which has a simple entry of line prntr. If that is selected nothing at all happens. Clearly Firefox cannot detect my printers. If I save the web pages to a PDF file then open that file I can then get the normal system printing options and print the page. But all that does is clutter up my file system with files I will only ever use once. This proves the problem is clearly in Firefox and in its inability to detect system printers. I have tried all the suggestions from the help screens to no avail. Is there any other means of sorting this print problem.
