When my laptop is connect to a monitor via HDMI cable, the resolution on Firefox switches between what my laptop is at when not plugged in and the current monitor's resolution. It almost looks like Firefox is hiccuping between resolutions. This last for a few seconds and happens frequently within the hour. How can I stop Firefox from being confused about the resolution it's supposed to be at?

I have had a dual boot Windows 10/Ubuntu Linux set up for many years, with Firefox installations in the two operating systems both using the same profile accessible on a shared a disk partition. Since a Ubuntu update several months ago, using Firefox under Ubuntu produces the "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem." problem when I revert to Windows and try to run Firefox under Windows. I can clear the problem by running a disk check in Windows on the shared partition, but does anyone know how to avoid this?

BLUFF:
1. Long start up times (do not see this on other browsers) 2. FIrefox often crashes. Browser tells me that a report has been sent. To where? No response. 3. How do I check if my browser is up to date?
What could be causing this? What are my effective actions to increase performance?

i am trying to type this message on firefox, but i have to avoid shift key not to interrupt typing. when i hot shift+some other keys like i, b, v, etc, devtools pop up. i have checked other forums, other q&a on firefox support, and concluded that the same issue have occurred to many users regardless of the os, features, extensions, various keyboards (but not the virtual one for me) or system settings. i have to type a lot in the browser, so i just choose to delete firefox until someday the issue is fixed.

Do Mozilla really have no idea why their browser is considered a better alternative to other browsers? Why do they insist on making their browser WORSE for the sake of jumping on the latest stupid tech trend!? Some new tech that makes everything it's used in perform considerably worse? Oh boy sounds like the perfect thing for firefox! If this keeps up I'm looking into a browser that's at least more open about the fact it doesn't care.
Please provide the instructions of how to solve this problem

Of 3 macs in the house, all on OS12, the one on ethernet to the ISP has been failing regularly: 1.) fails to collect history 2.) fails to present long-time home page 3.) if it does boot-up properly, expected behavior slows down markedly during a session on the computer (Usually rebooting the entire machine restores this. This morning even that didn't work.)
