how to permanently keep the warning about closing multiple tabs?

Every so often, probably due to an unseen update, when I press the red X at the top of of a page where multiple tabs are open, to see how many tabs are open, they disappear, and the preference option to not close multiple tabs without warning (which says the # of tabs open), has to be turned back on.

I created an account with chat gpt with my google login. Lately, when I try to log into it using Firefox, after I click the "Continue with Google" button, I am redirected to https://www.arkoselabs.com/ !

After a few tries with the same result, I tried in chrome and had no issues accessing my account.

This one's stumpped me. I'm at a loss. Anyone else having this problem? Is it a redirect virus? Chrome is prone to the yahoo redirect virus. I'm wondering if this is similar or if there's somethin' wrong.

I just saw on line a notice about mozilla monitor and I tried the free scan. I was alarmed. My quesiton is if you have more than one email associated with you ID information, does mozilla monitor cover those different email addresses?

Auto play blocking is no longer working.

I have some Bookmarks on my laptop. I have some of these Bookmarks (Not all) on my tablet, plus some other Bookmarks.

If I sync them, which direction does the sync work in? Will all my Bookmarks on my laptop now appear on my tablet (Which I do not want to happen)? Will all my Bookmarks on my tablet now appear on my laptop (Which I do want)? Will I end up with two copies of most Bookmarks, because all my laptop Bookmarks are transfered to my tablet, plus all my tablet Bookmarks are transfered to my laptop?

I cannot find any explanatioin of what Sync actually does.

When I followed instructions, it sent the login file to the flash drive I designated but in an Excel format & I don't know how to print it in a readable (.doc format). Any help is greatly appreciated. bucretired@yahoo.com

I have spent hundreds of hours over the years trying to figure out how to hell to suggest words to the default firefox dictionaries. I don't mean weird words, words used constantly in scientific settings. It is infuriating. I am willing to take on this task if no one else is. How do I join the effort?!? I have 20 years experience at a fortune 500 company. Google is worthless these days.

Im running Firefox on Apple Silicon and I really do wish that there was a way to change settings to adjust experience when using the browser. As for my current needs I wish there was a barebones mode I could enable because currently it's an energy hog and I am becoming discouraged to continue using it with this inefficiency.

Ill explain my use case, I do lots of research for school, and tend to work with 30-50 tabs at a time and by simply having Firefox open it drains my laptops' battery 3 to 4 X (times) faster. While the same tabs on Safari and even newly released DuckDuckGo Mac app can run those tabs for days while still sipping on battery.

another occassion is during my job search, these tabs will stay open for a week or two as I open jobs im applying to, using 'Skillsyncer' and bunch of gmail tabs. I prefer my laptop to lose 5% battery in 2 hrs instead od 3 minutes.

As things are now, Firefox is not well optimized and would like to let the Firefox team to add the mentioned functionality above. Sadly there's no way to reach out to their team and am instead forced to post here. For now I will refer to Firefox to 'Firefix' as there's plenty to fix.

I want certain extensions to be able to run in private windows, but not in normal windows. For example, I would browse normally without a VPN extension, and when I open a private window, the VPN extension would be enabled.

When I sign in to my bank, placing the cursor in the username box produces a number of username options, including the actual unsername and other mistyped ones from previous login efforts. I don’t want any unsername prompts. I went to Passwords in Firefox and made sure to remove the bank as a site to retain and offer such information when signing into that account. I continue to receive these username prompts. This doesn’t happen with other accounts. I cannot track down where that username information resides, how to remove it, and how to prevent Firefox from retaining this username information for this bank account.

So, I tried to download a video from my YouTube Premium Account. According to the youtube webpage, that video was downloaded to my iMac. My FF 124.0.1 settings are set up to download to the Desktop. I am running Mac OS Sonoma 14.4.1

Yet the file is not there. I tried searching on the Support page for FF. Lots of articles but no real help. Tons of info about how to tweak the download but Nothing about Where that download ended up. I did give Permission in Settings for youtube.com to download to my iMac, but again, I can't find the file. In the Storage section, it shows 37.5 MB, so it should be on my iMac, right?

How is it possible for youtube.com to show that I downloaded the file but I can't find it?

I am totally at a loss. Never had anything like this happen before. Prior downloads have Always shown up on the Desktop.

Any thoughts? Thanks for your time.

response to jonzn4SUSE, because on my desk top, it won't install, because my computer chip is too old, when I get to the point of clicking on finish, when clicking on finish, it disappears, supposedly this chip is a better chip than the one I need to install it, but it's older than the one which is the minimum needed to do the install, even took it to the repair shop, I had read that sometimes if an older version of waterfox is on a computer it won't install, by the time I got it back from the shop everything with waterfox was gone, including bookmarks etc., none it was saved, some of the things I could import from my other browsers, one thing I don't like about waterfox is there isn't any way to export those things to other browsers, even when going to firefox or any other browsers, when clicking on import from other browsers, waterfox isn't on the list, also on my laptop, has an intel chip, maybe older than the one on desk top, when 1st installed it, it worked, the next time I tried to use it it wouldn't open, don't use lap top very often, usually only when desk top is in the shop on desk top, even tried to install it in safe mode, after I got it back from the repair shop, is when I found out about the chip being too old Operating System       Windows 10 Pro 64-bit CPU       AMD Phenom II X4 955          Deneb 45nm Technology RAM       16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 803MHz (11-11-11-28) Motherboard       Gigabyte Technology Co. Firefox often display messages at the lower right corners - only from selected sites.

It drives my crazy - because I have to click on each and ervy one.

How can I select the sites which are displayed or can I shut them off all together ?!?

Safari is showing the links seen in blue after each line but FireFox is leaving them out. Some type of bug or coding problem. This began happening 3-4 months ago. It used to work fine on FireFox. Would love to stay using FireFox and avoid the Safari thing. Love the browser!!! Mark Miller
