he method for updating manual proxy settings is new to me, admittedly, but with even a tiny bit of research it seems super accessible and straightforward. I am a Ipvanish user who is a little disenchanted with their extension on Firefox, and simply want to use a manual proxy to browse instead.

When updating my proxy settings, I do what every YouTube or WikiHow article would tell you, and I search for the best available Ipvanish server for my region, copy the link directly, apply it to the manual proxy setting, set all proxies to this same link, and set the port to 80.

However, instead of prompting me for a login/password after closing and reopening the browser, every single page instead goes through a connection timeout and ultimately fails to load altogether.

Has anyone else experienced this and discovered a fix? Or can you perhaps guide me through a mistake I am making, perhaps in my process or a setting which I overlooked?

It was restarted after upgrading to 107.0.1 but the Firefox doesn't ask my master pwd anymore and disappeared all stored password .

In a profile I found 1-1 logins.json, logins-backup.json both are almost empty and a one day old logins.json.corrupt file with a quite huge size.

When I renamed logins.json.corrupt to logins.json as I found in forum, restarted Firefox it became to *.corrupt again.

While doing some virus discovery tests with Windows Defender and other AV products I realized that with Firefox files are not scanned when download finishes. With Chrome and Edge the Windows Defender immediately checks and blocks malicious files. Not so with Firefox. Then the file is only checked and blocked when opened.

After some research I found that in the past there was an Option `browser.download.manager.scanWhenDone` but this seems no longer available. Under Security software in about:support Windows Defender seems to be correctly set.

Is there a way to have files immediately checked by the AV after download in Firefox completes?

Hello, Q1: Is there a way to prevent Google search engine from accessing and sharing the city I live in via my IP address?

Q2: Can I block my IP address from Amazon, Google and other shareware/spyware garbage AND still access and use the internet?

At the bottom of a Google search result page I can read the city I live in based on my IP address. I would rather not have this shared as I search for products in different stores. I am signed into Google.

When I ran the "Privacy tab" in Firefox the Google search results still showed the city I live in.

I use a VPN, three security extensions("No-Script, Privacy-Badger & FaceBook Container) and Mozilla Firefox set at the "Strict" Browser Privacy level.

Thank you for reviewing these questions, Oliver

Hi folks. The title of this question started 2 weeks ago. Was fine before, but now a yellow triangle on the padlock.

Running test sites show everything secure. I have certificates. No other browser shows a warning. I read your help article and all is just like it should be. .htaccess redirects domain.com to www.domain.com and http: to https: just as it should. But still this "error". It must be images in my header, footer and sidebar, but I cannot change the path for those in any way I can find.

How can I correct this?

Thanks!

Hi,

as an admin I administer O365 web-sites/consoles in Firefox. I have two accounts in Firefox: my normal account, and my admin account which has far greater rights. The problem I am having is since I have enabled the option "Allow Windows single sign-on for Microsoft, work, and school accounts" (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/windows-sso?as=u&utm_source=inproduct), I always have to confirm two times that I want my admin account to login to for example: https://admin.exchange.microsoft.com/#/ Is there a way to tell FF that I want only the admin account to logon to the specified link so I don't have to select the account every time?

Thanks

My Windows Task Scheduler contains an entry called "Firefox Default Browser Agent". If I delete it, it returns. If I disable it, it re-enables itself. How do I NUKE this permanently?

I already have telemetry and automatic updates both turned off.

A related problem is that the About Firefox window keeps saying "Firefox is being updated by another instance", even though I always "Dismiss" the prompt to download the latest version. (I'm using v107.0.)

I am sending in a new laptop to HP(Windows 11) for service on the keyboard and want to physically remove the stored passwords setup and synced via my Firefox sign-in, but want to make sure they do not get removed or get unsynced to my account(so can still use on existing Firefox at home). I see where you may find the location of the directory which they are stored, so can you simply delete or clear that directory on the HP device before sending out for service? Will it re-sync when PC is back at home and not effect my other live devices I will be using?

I tried to create a saved password for a site I need to log in to. The Create New Login form says "Make sure this matches the exact address of the website where you log in." I enter the exact address, username, and password and save it. But what shows after it is saved is a truncated form of the address. It lopped off the specific account ID information for my login page. So when I try to go to that site, my login page can't be found. Why can't the full address be saved?

Hi,

No matter what I do, a google dialogue box encouraging me to use google for password management, pops up every time I go to a site, new or existant.

I've gone into my google account to disable such requests, and, indeed, otherwise use google for nothing....not even search............but they keep coming anyway.

am using ubuntu 20.04, and no other utility or code is giving me this trouble.

I want to stop this dialogue box and eliminate any code in firefox or ubuntu which supports it.....as I have no idea why this box showed up....one day it just started.

Many thanks!

Although I have my Browser Privacy / Enhanced Tracking Protctions setting at "STRICT": "Stronger protection but may cause some sites or content to break" and with a "Heads up!" warning that states: "This setting may cause some websites to not display content or work correctly" -- I chose to enact it, anyway, knowing taking this informed risk.

However, on a site that I just visited, I received a message (from clicking on the little duck icon) that stated: "To prevent site breakage, we didn't lock ANY companies from loading tracking requests on this page". Also, "The following third-party domains' request were loaded. If a company's requests are loaded, it can allow them to profile you, though our other web tracking potections still apply."; then listed all of the companies that were allowed to profile/track me, one that included Google. There were 8 different companies, some with more than one address!

What is the point of giving us that option if you aren't going to acknowledge or respect it?

Hi All,

We recently upgraded to Firefox v107 and started seeing issue where the microphone is not accessible in the iframed page (on windows and mac os). The iframed page has microphone functionality to allow our users to record audio. Both the parent and iframe share the same domain. When i try to enable the microphone nothing happens. I don't see any error messages in console when i click Record button

Any info on what's causing this? It was working on version 106.

Thanks, David
