There was an update with Mozilla Firefox on the 8th. I had tabs open on the computer. After the update, I could not retrieve the tabs I had open. Tried to restore and nothing worked. Is there any way to restore my tabs?

Starting the Windows 11 laptop again. Then Firefox. Result: No sites are starting. All history lost, many tabs: lost. Great work!!! Last update was already shit (many exception rules have to be set manual again. I love such updates! Useless). And now that. I think I will switch now to chrome. Sorry. Such experience is enough. It is my time - I need a reliable browser, not where I have to spend time to get the things like they have been before

My browser updated to 149.0.2 on Windows 11 early April 2026. I first noticed the browser asking me to select a profile when trying to open hyperlinks from emails, but since I had not closed the browser since the update, I still had all of my information. When I went to restart, I was forced to make a new profile as no other ones were recognized. This also happened during an update at the end of 2025 and I was able to fix it with advise from support articles., Unfortunately, none of those fixes seem to be applicable anymore. Does anyone have a current fix? I have lost so much saved info!

My old laptop is broken; I can no longer access the hard drive. Is there any way I can reorganize my old bookmarks from before a specific date, i.e., December 15, 2025, in Firefox?

So before few days firefox decided to automaticly update. after thet no pasword was saved in system. undery system data 2 files: logins.json-1.corrupt/json-2.corrupt without any data in files (but size is 130KB). i need these logins ASAP.

Running Windows 10 but with extra year of security updates. Several web sites were running very slow or not loading at all. So I tried doing system restore - only went back 3 days but afterward said it had some problems, and link to Firefox did not work. So I did system recovery back to time from which I had just done restore. But I had no link to Firefox so had to download it new. But now I have none of my previous tabs, links, saved passwords,,etc. I'm hoping my previous Firefox is still on my PC and there is a way I can run it.

During cleaning up by CCleaner, accidentally the Histrory of the Firefox Browser (open folders and apps) all were deleted. Is there a way to retrieve and restore the then open folders ?

Dear Mozilla // Firefox persons - you really know how to shoot yourself in the foot.... I am fed up having lost all bookmarks and not able to initiate anew despite intolerable checks for updates, restarts & reinstalls. Really pissed me off. Your "help" pages are grossly overpopulated with waffle and dead end links.

Foxfire updated a couple days ago, when it did it lost all my latest saved bookmarks. When I go to uninstall that maintainese package, I am denied access to do so.

How can I Recover Deleted Firefox (build 151.0.2 (64-bit) Browsing History in my version/edition of Windows 11 Pro, Version = 25H2, installed = 12/06/2024, OS Build = 26200.8524. Can you help me recover my Browsing History from Friday, 05/29/2026? Please.

""What happened:"" Yesterday I updated Firefox to 151 and noticed a "Profile" feature for the first time. I created a new profile, then saw a small icon with the Firefox icon that bothered me and realized it belonged to the new profile. I thought that the newly created profile is safe to delete and has to data within, so I deleted it. After that, Firefox deleted all old data and created another new profile and I lost old bookmarks, passwords, and browsing history.

Note: no warning was showed before deleting the profile.

What I tried: 1. Checked about:profiles profiles: no old data. 2. Opened the profiles folder in C:\Users\[my account]\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles: no old data found. I noticed one of the default profiles contains a places.sqlite file that’s about 2 years old: no old data, only default bookmarks are there. 3. Used Recuva to try to recover files — I recovered key4.db, login.db, and places.sqlite-shm but nothing useful so far. Environment/details: • Firefox version: 151 • OS: Windows 11 • No Firefox account Questions: • Is there any way to restore the old profile data from the files I recovered (key4.db, logins.json/login.db, places.sqlite-shm)? • Any other recovery steps I should try? • how to prevent the same thing in the future? Firefox has complained for sometime that my profile was created with a newer version than what I was using. I'd click OK, and go about my day. After about a month, I decided to upgrade so it would stop bugging me. When I did, my old profile did not merge, but was deleted, and now I have lost all of my passwords and bookmarks. How can I restore them when the profile is empty?

I'm fed up with firefox. It seems almost every update deletes old passwords or creates new profile (which effectively deletes the passwords!)

I've tried looking at about.profiles which seems pointless - the active profile does not have my passwords and the inactive profile does not have them either.

If you can't secure passwords what's the point of your browser??

I'm moving to another browser which can guarantee the security of my passwords.

Meanwhile, I must visit every site I use to reset my passwords - what a chore!!!

I hope you're doing well. Unfortunately, my Firefox account was still signed in on my old mobile phone, which is now being used by my father. He accidentally deleted all of my bookmarks, and I have completely lost access to them. To make matters worse, I do not have any offline backup of my bookmarks.

I was wondering if there is any way for your team to restore the bookmarks associated with my account to a state from before December 31.

My bookmarks have disappeared. I have followed the steps to restore them under the FAQ, but at Step 2 ("In the Library window, click the import-export-arrows button and then select Restore"), when I click Restore, no list of backups appears from which to select the one I want to restore. I have been using Firefox for years and have loads of useful bookmarks. How can I get them back?

I had two Firefox tabs open in my lower task bar. I closed out one but it was the wrong one. The one I unpinned has all of my tabs, history and book marks. I can't figure out how to recover it.
