Hi, I create an account to sync Bookmarks, Passwords, Add-ons, History etc from one computer to an other. I successfully created the account, verify mails, checkbox all features to sync in settings, and click on "sync' multiple times. But nothing is synced on my new computer. Sync is a nightmare. It is so unintuitive! What exactly would be wrong with having separate Export and Import buttons for each of Settings, Addons, Tabs, History, Bookmarks, etc? I have a desktop box and a newer laptop I wanted to get up to date. I pressed the Sync button on the desktop ... By the way, there`s a link below that reads "Connect another device" ... Connect where? Someone is designing these interfaces who has absolutely zero imagination. Anyways, I signed off, moved the ethernet cable to my laptop, signed in, pressed Sync, and voila!, I got my Bookmarks, at least. But I have no idea how to get my tabs and windows. I tried with a "download link" something or other, but it seemed to assume I was sync-ing to a phone, and didn`t work. Any way to get my tabs?

Does anyone know how to configure Firefox to stop the annoying google log-in pop-up? I've seen others ask the same question, but I have not seen any functional answers. I've never had a google account, for anything. I don't get the pop-up with other browsers, like Falcon or Brave. It's just a problem on Firefox. I appreciate you help!

I have read multiple posts & articles about cannot reach ups.com website. Nothing others did works for me. I have re-installed Firefox, cleared caches, started in safe-mode, on & on ... etc. etc. etc.

Firefox is very slow. If i do the same browsing, in Chrome, there is no problems.

Reinstall Firefox, and all the guides, is tested - no luck.

I really love Firefox, and have used it, for many years, but this slow experience - that will scare me away.

I really often need to copy/paste from a terminal opened in my browser. Because the shortcut for copying in a terminal is always Ctrl+Shift+C, it's a mess to have instead Firefox opening Inspector from devtools.

How can I disable this shortcut ?

I've tried to update some about:config settings but it doesn't seem to be helpful and old working correctives add-ons are not supported anymore.

I've changed the background color on the private tabs/windows with this CSS:

I would like to make the "background-color" to be the same as the window background without hardcoding it, so it always match the theme, ie:

 background-color: <window.background> !important;

I would like to do the same with the background color of the search box in the private mode window, but I can't find the id.

I am having my first experience with a Chromebook and downloaded Firefox. I got a tablet version, which doesn't work well for me on a big(gish) scren with mouse and keyboard.

I see from a variety of articles across the web that I should be able to install and use a Linux version of Firefox, but I can't find info on this here on mozilla.org Which is my preferred source when it comes to Firefox :)

So: Is there a step-by-step guide to installing Linux version of Firefox on a Chromebook?

Hello people !

I'm currently testing Firefox Account features such bookmark syncing and its login security (not password storage/sync). Unfortunately I'm having big trouble authenticating myself to the service right now.

I have 2 testing accounts with the following configuration :

1. I've setup 2FA authentication.
2. I did not set a secondary email.
3. I did not set an account recovery key.

Here are some of the tests I'm doing :

1. I start by doing several login/logout to check if 2FA is working as expected.
2. Then I add a secondary email then make it primary then remove the previous primary email.
3. Then again login/logout several times to check if 2FA is working as expected.

At some point I'm unable to login after some iterations of step 3) above.

1. At first I get an error saying my 2FA code is incorrect. But it allows me to login successfully using one of my 2FA backup.
2. Then again I logout/login several times to check if 2FA is working as it should be.
3. Then at some point I get the same error again saying my 2FA code is incorrect. Trying several unused 2FA backup fails with error saying they're also incorrect.
4. Then it finally says that I've tried too many time and suggests I should retry 15mins later.
5. When I try to login after some time it then ask me for an authorization code sent to my email. But then it says every authorization code I try is also incorrect.
6. I managed to disable 2FA from on one of the account I was still logged in Firefox. But when trying to login on another Firefox profile then I get the same error saying I tried too many times.

Just for clarification - Please note that I may have use one or two 2FA codes instead of authorization keys when it asked me so. But I did not mistyped any 2FA or auth code I've tried.

And after several hours of giving up on it - the problem suddenly vanished and I could login/logout fine. As a precaution I add a recovery key and decided to disable 2FA because I can be sure it will work as is should.

Maybe I get locked but I dont know what really happened. I believe I did not a lot of login abuse though. I just feel like it's a big issue for my case because I could not rely on the 2FA backup and authorization keys. The error didn't help either because it likely says I've been locked. Whereas having one or two mistyped codes or using "several correct 2FA backup and auth keys" which were wrongly considered incorrect - should not be treated as a login abuse or brute force.

From now on I will likely disable 2FA if using this service. I understand these tests are not things you do on everyday use but I can't imagine how bad it would feel if I have sync sensitive data such as passwords and have to wait hours to unlock access to my account (even if not to access those data).

The file you are supposed to download on page "https://www.support.xerox.com/en-us/content/146849" gives a webpage with trash, where it should open the download window . I know it's Firefox because I tried downloading that file via Opera browser and that succeeded . Dowloading zip files from the Xerox website gave no problem, only DEB files .

Just now I recreated my firefox login password and re-logged into the firefox account. After synchronization, I did not find my bookmarks and saved logins. Could you please help me troubleshoot the problem? I'm having a problem sharing websites with others via, for instance, Signal. Telegram, WhatsApp or a social medium. There used to be a share button in the toolbar, but this I cannot find anymore. At some time there were also the three dots in the address bar that dropped down a menu for the page, which included a 'share' option. These dots seem to have vanished. Also I vaguely remember that the "share" function was also in he tab context menu once upon a time. However dropping down that menu does not reveal any "share" function presently. Then there was, if I remember correctly, the possibility to click the File menu at the top of the screen and then click on the Share menu item over there. But also there the "share" function seems to have vanished. I also looked in the settings menu, to find if there is a setting there which switches on or off the sharing function. I could not find such a setting. In short, it seems that I am horribly overlooking the "share" function. Please help me find it. Thanks. (Firefox 112 for Manjaro Linux)

I use an accessibility extension that modifies text to make it more readable, but I can't seem to make it work in reading mode. I'm aware there are some built in settings in reading mode, however these are not enough for me.

For several years now Firefox keeps the methodology to update in the background and then force the user to restart.

This always causes some loss.

There are multiple situations where this is not acceptable. Just to give one example: I just logged in an account and clicked to receive an authentication SMS. But then Firefox forced restart and I cannot login nor ask for a new SMS because the previous request was recent.

In my opinion this makes absolutely no sense. Is there an option the turn off this forced restart?

Firefox seems to have a problem on Linux using USB Security Keys. I have two Yubico Security Keys which I use for 2FA. The problem seems to be that Firefox cannot communicate with the USB port, as it doesn't make any difference whether the USB Security Key is plugged in or not, the error returned is always the same and the Security Key does not light up.

I believe Firefox's WebAuth code must be fine, as it works on Windows, which is why I think it's some kind of permissions problem. Chrome works perfectly with the Security Keys on my computer.

I've used a number of sites (I've listed a couple below) where you can test your Security Key with Firefox on KDE Neon and the error is always "UnknownError: The operation failed for an unknown transient reason":

I cannot log into Bugzilla with GitHub as my GitHub login uses a Security Key as the second factor.

Cloudflare believes it is protecting itself from online attacks when accessed by Firefox. The same site worked perfectly today, on the same computer, using Google Chrome.

Cloudflare is a major CDN and many important commercial sites, like Costco Instacart, have their content delivered by Cloudflare so this is a major issue with Firefox. For the moment there is a work-around, use Chrome instead, but it would be better to have Firefox address issues with Cloudflare.
