On FoxNews.com, some articles include a section at the bottom for user comments. First-level comments frequently receive additional second- and third-level comments.

First-level comments are working fine, but lower-level comments are partially obliterated with a string of black diamonds with question marks ?UN@?.

This is not an issue when I use Safari, but it is on Firefox.

Hi there, first time posting. I have Firefox 82.0.3 64-bit and I am on Windows 10. The only add-ons I have are Ublock Origin and Adblocker.

This morning I was having some internet trouble and it turns out my ISP needs to send someone out to my house to fix it. While my internet was going in and out, Firefox seemed very sensitive to this because it would continue to crash.

I was wondering if your internet connection going in and out can cause Firefox to crash (I need to the end the process because it is unresponsive type of crashing). I don't usually have any problems with Firefox and just wanted to ask.

Thanks.

Hi,

I do not see length of videos on thumbnails any more, moreover progress bar that was visible on viewed videos is also not visible so I cannot tell what videos I've already watched.

I have made some testing and it seems YouTube is showing video length when I am not signed in - progress bar is still not visible (but it seems to be obvious when I am signed out).

Running Firefox in safe mode is not helping. I am using latest Firefox 82.0.3 (64 bit)

I also have checked in Chrome and there it's working without any issues.

Have You seen such issue? Can it be latest update of Firefox?

Hello, I have problem with YouTube. When I am clicking "Share" button I got screen with infinite loading. The same issue happens when I want to open menu by clicking on my avatar. On dev console I am getting a POST error: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/HTTP/Status/401

I tried to: - clean Google/youtube cookies and stored cache; - clean then all cookies; - relaunch Firefox with all addons disabled; - enter via private mode with/without addons; - flush dns on dev console; - disable completely antivirus; - change DNS.

What is interesting, that problem happens only when I am logged in to my Google (YouTube) account and only on Firefox. Even on private mode it works until I do not log in to my account.

I would be very grateful for help.

I had this problem yesterday when I started up this browser it said, "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem.". So I read through the article and it said to restart my mac, so I did just that and pow, my bookmarks and history returned! Little did I know that the next day, (today) I'd start up Firefox and the message was there again, but this time, it got even worse.

       First I tried to tackle the bookmark problem, "Quit Firefox" they said, "Restart your computer." they said, "Create a new database". None of those worked, so I scrambled the internet looking for answers, all of them resolved their problems, every one else was A-ok, excluding me, and just like that, my add-ons weren't working anymore! Ad-block Plus, Dark Reader, Privacy Badger, nothing. I tried to delete Adblock first and reinstall it, because that's what their page told me to do, and I keep getting this message trying to reinstall it saying, "Installation aborted because the add-on appears to be corrupt."
       And little did I know that every other extension said the exact same thing. So i knew something was going on that was out of my control. And then finally, the "pièce de résistance" to my pain and suffering through out this whole hour or so, pages won't even load even though I'm connected to the internet, how perfect... Even trying to update the browser won't work, downloading a new one also goes through the same "pages not loading problem.
        So in conclusion, hopefully, just hopefully, you guys can help me out. I'll probably have to resort to my old laptop, (which is slow and almost unusable with how buggy that thing is.) seeing how my mac has also been running into problems these last few days as well before this conundrum.

Good Luck and Happy Thanksgiving!

Was using FF 79.0. Everything worked great. I upgraded to 80 or so a while back and found that it was taking ~7-10 seconds before FF would begin to load an initial webpage, so I used system restore to go back to 79. I've upgraded to 82.0.2 and the same thing is happening. Tried going back using system restore, but system restore failed for some reason, so I'm now stuck. I haven't had success re-installing FF 79.0. Any ideas why FF would be so slow loading a page? FYI, once I'm on that website, if I click to another page on that website, it loads quickly and normally. Only seems to be when I'm moving to a new website. I'm using Windows 7.

Hello I had Firefox version 81 and after installing version 82 in a new install on a new hard drive, I cannot change the color of my tabs anymore.

I should see white tabs for the current tab but no longer. Question: Is this been blocked now?

I see instead a thin blue color strip along the top of the tab and the rest is grey. This shows up without any userChrome file.

about:support shows my Profile. vwy0y5ix.default-release I also have under the Profile folder this: jcueuz5y.default

Question: Why 2 profiles now as I had only one before? See attachments.

I put the userChrome.css file here in the Chrome folder: C:\Users\David\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\vwy0y5ix.default-release

What it contains:

  1. nav-bar { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 1 !important; }
  2. PersonalToolbar { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 2 !important; }
  3. TabsToolbar { -moz-box-ordinal-group: 3 !important; }

.tab-background:not([selected]) {

   background-color: #E3E0DB !important;

}

.tab-background[selected="true"] {

   background-color: white!important;

When switching tabs, Firefox allows you two behaviours: Recent Order or Tab Order but you have to choose between them. This is a trick to have THE TWO BEHAVIOURS TOGETHER Catch: AutoHotkey is required.

In Firefox Options/Preferences -> General -> Tabs" mark enable recent order (ticked) Then compile the next script in Autohotkey and keep it running.

  1. if WinActive("ahk_exe firefox.exe")

^Q::Send, ^{TAB} ^Tab::Send, ^{PGDN} +^Tab::Send, ^{PGUP}

  1. if

Now with Ctrl+Tab and Ctrl+Shift+Tab you move right and left between Tabs and with Ctrl+Q you move to last viewed Tab. I choose Q because is next to Tab but you can change it in the second line of the script. Cheers!

Hi All,

My web pages have 4 basic sections, Header, Menu, Content and Footer. In the print media query position static is used. I understand that should make them print in order. All browser had this messed up for many years but I'm sure Firefox had this fixed for awhile. In version 82.0.3 this is messed up again, footer prints at the top of 1st page.

Is this a printing bug? Or, do I misunderstand position static?

Why can't it print as shown on screen, What you see is what you get?

Hallo,

I hope there is someone that could help me in this matter.

When users need to register in Joomla on a website that I am developing, the system messages that need to show, if the user made any mistakes in filling out the fields, does not popup or show.

In competing browsers like Chrome, Edge and Opera there is no problem with the messages coming up and giving the necessary info to the user that wants to register.

You help will be greatly appreciated.

Both are windows 10 and up to date version of Firefox. When attempt to sign in to Firefox on the laptop, I get an "Incorrect password" message. I'm using the same email on both computers (only have 1 email anyway) and have had the account and used Firefox for years. Anyone have an idea of what is going on? TIA!

i Totally agree with this now closed post: I just returned to Firefox due to high level hacker threats & identity theft basically I'm still battling,so I have to have all Social Media in Containers from now on & can't use other browsers w/o containers, so I get it all setup & had my sync on & the containers start acting up, so I see a suggestion to just simply refresh it, oh yea, that solves most problems, NO IT CAUSES MORE THAN IT SOLVES! Now my Lastpass pw mgr, can't get clipboard permission cause the page just comes up blank,when I try to copy/paste a pw, to sign into sync even, I had to past from outside using another browser & don't have containers on it, Brave should catch up to this, cause Chrome,clearly doesn't have containers, so I'm done using it & now w/o Firefox working right I'm screwed, it's so aggravating, Just when I thought firefox was doing good again, nope, you're back on my shitlist. I'm pissed just like this guy! I got my bookmarks & think I got the sync working but you shouldn't suggest refresh to fix issues, now how do I get my lastpass working? cause I have pop up blockers disabled & the permission page for firefox won't come up, just a blank page every time I try to copy a pw to paste in, manually, ugh, I hate this!

I stupidly accepted the Firefox suggestion to refresh my browser and everything i worked so hard for is gone. Its going to take me forever to FIX what your stupid site has screwed up. YOU REALLY OUGHT TO TELL PEOPLE IF YOU USE THIS YOUR GOING TO BE SCREWED

So I thought I'd just delete it and start over but even that has so many steps I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THIS STUPID CRAP AND I REALLY HATE FIREFOX FOR SCREWING UP MY COMPUTER AND MY DAY

I AM SOOOOOOOO SCREWED - all my bookmarks I HATE YOU I HATE FIREFOX I CAME TO YOUR SITE THINKING IT WOULD BE SAFE AND YOU HAVE DESTROYED EVERYTHING

I SEE in another thread about deleting firefox and creating another profile and about 10 million other steps i don't know how to do but if I close firefox as you said then i can see your frigging directions I HATE YOU

Modified February 16, 2016 at 10:39:48 AM PST by KC Chosen solution

I understand that you're frustrated, but it only takes a couple minutes to copy the files. Take it step by step. Do not delete anything, that will only make it worse. Do not use Windows' system restore feature, that may make it totally irreversible.

In another thread (https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1098179) you said the steps I posted were not clear. Where did you run into problems? Read this answer in context

Dear folks-- I am working on several large, complicated research projects with a lot of moving parts and many technical aspects that I barely understand. When I raise a question, I normally open a bunch of tabs to papers, stackexchange sites, etc. I usually don’t end up with an unambiguous answer in a single session. I close the tabs that appear not to be useful, and leave the others open. So open tabs represent unfinished tasks to which I expect to return. Every time I try to close a bunch of tabs, I find unfinished tasks that still require research. I pretty much always end up creating more tabs than I close. And at some point it becomes easier to just search again than to find the open tabs I remember. I have tried to use open windows as sort of like thematic groups, with a little success. I work with three big monitors, and it is normal for me to have four or five Firefox windows open, each with its own tab set (all this under MS-Windows 10).

I just accidentally hit close and was asked if I was sure I wanted to close 4643 tabs. Yikes!

This isn’t getting out of hand, it's already out of hand. However, my tabs represent a summary and history of about six years of research. I want to keep them. But I don’t want to keep them like this.

I see that there are tab management capabilities built into Firefox that I have not been using. I also see that there are multiple extensions that offer additional capabilities. However I am more afraid than probably makes sense of adopting a solution that I do not fully understand, and either losing my tabs through inadvertence, or spending weeks organizing them under a new system only to discover that it lacks some crucial capability that I didn’t think to check for.

So I throw myself on the mercy of you, the wonderful Firefox help team, both volunteer and professional. I have tried to imagine a system that would let me organize my 4000+tabs with a sane amount of time and effort. I have produced a list of features that I think would let me do that. I would like to know if I can do all these things, either with native Firefox, or with Firefox and at most one additional add-on extension. Please forgive me if I am not using the proper terminology. I’ll try to be as clear as I can about the capabilities I am looking for.

1. Select multiple tabs at once and assign them to a new or existing tab group. 2. Name a group, have the name be visible in the tab bar, and assign a distinctive appearance to all the tabs in that group (maybe by color). 3. Collapse a group to one tab and reopen the tab to the group quickly and easily. 4. Save and close a tab group, and reopen it from some menu of saved tab groups. Save and close should eliminate the resource demand of the closed tab group. Collapse need not.

I could live with (4) without (3), provided the menu of saved groups has good visual design to remind me of what is there.

5. Convert an open window to a single tab group (if it is not already subdivided into groups). 6A. Name and save a window containing multiple tab groups. Close a single window. Open a closed named window, recreating the tab groups it contained. 6B. Alternatively, allow grouping tab groups into supergroups, name and save the supergroup, close and open supergroups, and convert a window containing tab groups into a supergroup. 7. Open any saved group in any open window. 8. All the instances of saving previously described should survive computer crashes, closure of an individual window, and closure of Firefox. Maybe sync to some cloud location? It is OK if closure of Firefox or a Firefox window throws away the tabs provided you get a warning and an opportunity to save, or provided that tab groups are periodically autosaved by default.

I really want something like all the capabilities described above, though I would accept equivalent functionality arranged in different categories than I have used. Here are three more that I regard as nice-to-have rather than must-have: 9. Sync my tabs with my back-up computer, another MS-Windows box with a lot of RAM. 10. Sync my tabs with my Android phone and tablet. 11. Multiple supergroup grouping layers.

I know I’m asking for a lot, but I really do think this is roughly the feature set required to maintain a large collection of tabs and tab groups across multiple Firefox windows. So I hope and believe that time invested in answering this question would be helpful to others similarly (if less extremely) situated, and perhaps to tab management extension designers as well.

Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you.

Been watching streams for a while. Twitch.TV works perfectly well, Piczel.TV is alright too. I do however have constant issues with any kind of live stream when using Picarto.TV- It seems like the stream just doesn't want to load for long- it will work for a little but and then start an endless buffering cycle which can only be broken by refreshing the entire website, rinse and repeat. I tried cleaning my cookies once which didn't help. Using Firefox's installer to run a "fix" didn't help either, and a fresh install *did* work, but only for a little bit before it started happening again. The option in Picarto to switch the HLS player tech to mp4 doesn't work. Any advice?

Since Firefox version 82, the possibility of autofill username on some specific input fields (<input type="search">) doesn't work anymore (while <input type="text"> still works). In office I often have to check a customer's website where the login form contains a input field of type "search" for the username. It allways worked fine for me to use the saved username and password, automaticly filled in on both of the text fields (of course, the password field is of type "password"). I checked Firefox version 81, where "search" input fields still worked for autofill, so version 82 must have been updated on this topic, but I can't understand why (perhaps there is a good reason to inactivate this input type for autofill)..
