I've been using Firefox since forever but over the last couple of months, the auto translate subtitles (to English) hasn't been working when watching Youtube videos. There's a thread on the Youtube support site with nearly 40,000 posts of people with the same issue and tonight I was trying to watch a video where the hosts talk in Italian, so I use auto translate to English subtitles but no subtitles appear. It will show Italian language subtitles.

I've gone back through this Youtube channel's history trying videos I've previously watched from months/years ago when auto translate used to work but even they're not working now.

I decided to try the video in Edge browser and to my surprise the auto translate to English worked there. They also work in Chrome.

So what could be causing this issue on Firefox, which started about August time?

This is quite bizarre as I assumed all the processing/translation was done by Google/Youtube so in what way can Firefox be part of this issue?

To be clear, subtitles in the (foreign) language the people are speaking, works. Subtitles translated from that language to English (or other languages) has stopped working. Subtitles translated from that language to English IS working on Edge and Chrome browser.

My browser is not working as it should. Several sites do not work anymore and the browser keeps crashing. I'd like to refresh the browser, but the button is missing. I tried going to troubleshooting mode, but the button is not there either.

Not sure if uninstalling would do the same thing? Just not sure what is the best way to refresh. Thanks for any help!

In the search bar (I’m not sure about its official name), my previous searches used to appear as suggestions before Google’s own suggestions. However, since I changed my default search engine from Google US to Google UK, it no longer seems to remember the searches I make. I’ve tried switching back to Google US, but that didn’t restore the behavior. Do you have any idea how to fix this?

For example, I previously searched for “things to see in Latvia”, which is why it appears as a suggestion in the screenshot. But if I now search for “things to see in Louvre Museum” and then try the same search again a few hours or days later, it isn’t saved and therefore doesn’t appear as a suggestion.

Hi, Since three or four months, whenever I log into Outlook live, either on Mac or Windows PC, I get a security warning saying that the information will not be secure (Please see attachment.) When I log into the same account, from Edge for example, I do not get the warning popup. I really enjoy using Firefox and would love to continue but this case is worrying me a bit. Any idea to help? Despite having the setting "Ctrl+Tab cycles through tabs in recently used order" selected, CTRL-Tab has suddenly stopped cycling tabs in the most recently used order. Firefox behaves as if the setting is disabled. This is the third time I've experienced this issue in the past year, and every time the only solution that worked was to create a new profile. It is exhausting to get a new profile back to exactly how the old profile was, and it's something I shouldn't have to do.

Scenario: I am on Windows 11 (though I think this has also happened to me on Windows 10), currently using version 146.0.1 (though this has happened on previous versions). CTRL-Tab cycles in the most recently used order just fine for several months, then it suddenly doesn't—this happens in the middle of an active session, i.e., not after a restart of the browser nor the computer itself. I have four add-ons, none of which control tab cycling, nor have I added/removed any add-ons nor changed any of their settings since their initial installation many months ago.

What I've tried:

• Disabling/re-enabling the setting (even though it is already checked)
• Disabling/re-enabling the config browser.ctrlTab.sortByRecentlyUsed
• Restarting Firefox normally
• Restarting with add-ons disabled—note that the issue persists even with add-ons disabled
• Disabling the setting, then restarting Firefox, then re-enabling the setting
• Restarting the computer

It's the same thing described in this Reddit thread. What else can I try?

I have at least one question on the support forum which has never been answered. So I went to Bugzilla, and discovered dozens of YouTube issues under the Open/Unconfirmed status.

I can reproduce my problems. I'm sure others can reproduce their problems. Nothing is done. NOT EVEN admitting there is a problem.

If I can't use YouTube on Firefox (I can't), then why am I using FF? It is one of the biggest sites on all of the internet. But FF apparently doesn't care if it doesn't work.

Hi, I have a pinned a website that will not show its icon (it won't when unpinned either).

Using the latest FF, Edge will show an icon. Is there a way to refresh FF and make it refetch the correct icon?

All searches get blocked by reCaptcha, quoted as being caused by 'unusual activity on the network' After going through the "I'm Not A Robot" process the search is o.k., but this happens for every search. The problem does not exist if I switch to Chrome. How do I fix this?

I continue to have issues with web site appearance. Whether I select "automatic" or off for "contrast control" previously visited links are turned purple. If I try "custom"’ for ‘Firefox’ nothing else seems to stay like I need it to be. I do not have this issue when I use Chrome.

Last time I got a reply, it was telling me f.f had a 'known issue' sore. the "yo've reached your limit for this account profile..create another on!" I made one, but it was then as now inte f.frfering further (white flower icon, having two operating f.f P or more operating at same time-stp[[omg my mac from sleeping, interfereing other ways. WHAT I AM ASKINNG IS HOW TO DELETE THE 2ND AND OTHER PROFILES! I GO TO MANAGE PROFLES T, AND I SEE THE FLOWER ICONS IN LARGE OPEN FLOER ICON/DRAWINGS WITH 'DELETE' AND A TRASH/BIN ICON BELOW EACH. WHEN I TRY EITHER ONE OF THE OTHER PROFILES, IT JUST OPENS THE MAIN FF. PAGE WITH A BLANK SCREEN, NO BOOKMARKS/TOOLBAR...AND DIALOG BOX TO IMPORT P/W'S HOW DO I DELETE ANY PROFILE IF THIS SECLECTED METHOD IS FAILED? WORSE, UNDER THE PROFILE I TYPE HERE WITH, IT HAS BOTH ITS NAME, AND THAT DAMN FLOWER ICON BELOW IT WITH "ORIGINAL PROFILE". DOES THAT MEAN IT THINKS MY IDENTITY IS BORROWED FROM SOM OTHER IDENTITY? Once again I have experienced that my Bookmarks disappeared. Some months ago, I had a HTML backup made, for easy Import. Now I started out by shutting down Firefox, followed by a restart. That worked last time (without import) This time it did no change. I shut down Firefox, and restarted the PC....... no change. (without import) Then I shut down Firefox and restarted the PC. Opened Firefox, and wanted to import the Bookmarks from the HTML file. The system comes up with a message stating that the file does not contain any bookmark references. ( Opening the HTML file using Firefox, reveals that all bookmarks are there, and can be used ) I uninstall Firefox, and re-install it . Flw. I try the import once again, using the HTML file...... to no avail. What am I missing here ?? My final option appears to be moving the bookmark one by one.. rather time consuming.

Exported passwords as csv from Firefox from an ailing machine. Imported into browser on new pc and find two sites reject my logins (Outlook & Duolingo). No issues with any other logins. Same logins still working on the old pc. What gives?

I finally got the search field and the address field on the same line. However, the search field is on the left and I would like it on the right. When I "customize toolbar" and manually switch the fields, it does not seem to reverse them subsequently (after I enter "Done").

What am I missing here?

Unfortunately, Fusion does not work properly with the new Firefox. Firefox cannot be controlled using shortcuts such as H-headlines, E-input fields, B-button, insert+F7-link list, and insert+F6-heading list. Also, on most pages, you can't use Jaws controls like word-by-word reading or paragraph-by-paragraph reading, which is really limiting, especially with Outlook online. In Firefox 146, Jaws usually only recognizes the whole email as an image, and reading aloud only works if you use the mouse and navigate line by line, which is really hard if you're visually impaired. Since I don't want to give up Firefox permanently and am forced to switch to another browser, I am trying to get feedback to see if a solution can be found in the future so that I can continue using Firefox. If I notice any more errors, I will contact support again for assistance.
