i installed the latest version from the website, and it only opens for a split second before it crashes. no error message, it just closes before its even fully open. same thing in troubleshoot mode: the troubleshoot mode popup only appears for a second, i dont even have time to read it before it closes. no error message. i tried a clean reinstall and nothing changed. i opened it in safe mode and it worked with no problems. i read that there are sometimes issues with avast, which i used to have, so i deleted the residual files i found in AppData and Program Files. still nothing. now the only antivirus/firewall software i have is windows defender (and i know that because windows defender keeps telling me haha), and i tried adjusting the windows firewall- still nothing. i would love to include a crash report ID, but there are no crash reports in the folder (photo attached), even though ive tried to open the app half a dozen times since reinstalling.

not sure if its relevant, but just in case- when i couldnt open the version from the website, i tried installing it from the microsoft store, and it actually worked fine at first. but shortly after i finished setting it up (it was probably open for less than an hour), it crashed and then it was the same- crashing immediately upon startup. i have since uninstalled it, in case they were interacting in a weird way, so now i only have the version from the website. i also have the mobile app on my phone and it works like a charm.

i consider myself pretty good at troubleshooting, but im completely stumped here. sorry for the long post, any guidance would be greatly appreciated

I have a new laptop so needed to install an adblock. The search results page gave many choices. However, no matter which one I clicked on it said this page is not available in your region. Now how is that possible seeing as on my previous laptop and in the same region I could install the add on? I have had to use a VPN to install the adblocker. Please explain how regions prevent the installation and why it happens. Firefox is universal or so I thought.

Having a long list of bookmarks, I used to be able to scroll to the bottom, chose a bookmark there and after closing the page and opening bookmarks again, it has stayed focused around the last used one. Now, when I open bookmarks again, it has reverted back to the top and have to scroll all the way down again to the one I want. This happened since the latest update. I have not been able to find any solution in settings. Can anyone point me to a solution?

Since the latest upgrade to 111.0.1 i am unable to copy and paste passwords from IT Glue.

IT Glue has a button to copy details to clipboard and when I do a paste I get [object promise]

I recently removed Firefox from my PC with the intention to reinstall it right away via the windows store, for the purpose of getting Firefox updates automatically.

However, I have been trying in the past few days to install the app and am running into the same error as the installation begins.

I deleted any reminiscence of Mozilla folders from my C drive and ran deep cleaning of cache files on my PC and nothing helps. Please help me resolve this issue, I would like to keep using Firefox...

I set a primary password but I found I can just press cancel button and then go to my gmail and open it without any prompt to enter password first.

If my PC is stolen then any one can press cancel and open my email and other loged in sites

Hi--is there a way to do this? My boyfriend accidentally deleted all my Firefox bookmarks last fall (hundreds), then restored the last backup from July, which he said for some reason was a lot larger than the most recent backup he saw, from October. (I hadn't deleted *that* many bookmarks between those two times, plus I had continued adding more, so I have no idea why the October file was so much smaller. Also, incidentally, I have no idea why there were no backups listed from the last one in July to the first one in October. I'm always actively adding and deleting bookmarks.) However, I made a ton of edits and additions to my bookmarks from July to October that I'd like to at least be able to access. I know I probably can't merge them with my current ones, but I'd at least like to be able to add them to what I have. I assume that if I could import these, they would appear in a separate folder, right? Thanks!

This release changes the function of the 'wheel' on a mouse.

Instead of scrolling up & down a page, it now 'zooms' in and out.

Is this deliberate? Or, is it a bug?

In about:config I have set "geo.enabled" to false. -> www.google.com still displays the content in my language, darn.

I went went back to about:config and marked "only show modified preferences" -> to my surprise not only "geo.enabled 1" was displayed but also "permissions.default.geo 2" (though I never touched that one - so I thought they must be linked somehow)

I was curious and reverted "permissions.default.geo" back to default -> now it is set to "0" -> but "geo.enable" is still on "false" (so I am not sure anymore if they are really linked together - which doesnt make sense to me)

Now I don't know if I should leave "permissions.default.geo" on "2" how I found it, or on "0" which is the default. That's why I come here to ask:

Hello! I'm trying to login on the developer hub, and it asks me to set up the 2FA, i follow the instructions, setting up the key that it gives me

After that I do verify the code and it success, but it is stuck on saying "Two-step authentication enabled" and it does not do anything

I try again to press the button, it times me out so I wait 15 minutes, after that it says again it has been enabled, but I does don't do anything else.

If I reload the page I start from 0 with another code, and same behavior.

When using Google authenticator the code is wrong both entering the code and scanning the qr.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

Recently converted to Firefox.

I routinely receive images from one sender that has a banner that renders two to three times the screen width no matter the screen size.

This issue doesn't occur on the Gmail Mobile app only while viewing Gmail on Firefox (The issue is not resident in Chrome).

Hello, as of this morning, none of the bookmarks I save on my android phone are syncing across to my PC. When I open my PC, I can see that sync is still working (as all open tabs on my phone are showing as open on the Tabs Pickup screen). I can see that several pages I bookmarked yesterday have saved without issue, so this is something that's happened today. I have my PC set to clear history whenever I close the browser, but I've manually cleared all history and cache. I've also manually synced. I've gone into settings and checked that Bookmarks are still selected as one of the things to Sync.

I have gone to about: sync-log and this is what I see:

I have having alot of trouble. I am unable to get Netflix to work in Normal mode of firefox. It will work in trouble shoot but not in reg mode. The page will not load all the way and than it locks up . I have done every suggestion that i have found and yet it still will not load and work. I have been trying to fix this problem for a week now. I have uninstalled and re installed 3 times now. and yet it still will not work. I have now gone to Edge to watch Netflix.

Since the days of Go Corp.'s PenPoint and Windows for Pen Computing, I have been accustomed to select text by just dragging the stylus --- that no longer works --- for some reason the stylus has now been dumbed down to be an 11th touch input which scrolls.

Why?

How can I get back the far more expressive behavour of drag-select text with a stylus and using touch when I wish to scroll?

As an FYI, I handed a stylus and my Samsung Galaxy Book 12 (running Windows Build 1703 which predates this change) to a technician at the local Best Buy and they had no problem selecting text --- when I challenged them to select text on a Galaxy Book 3 Pro 360 running Windows 11 using the stylus they were unable to to.

Could we please have an option to restore the traditional behaviour?

doesn't seem to work when it is enabled.

I recorded USB webcam pictures with MJPG_streamer and converted them to mp4 using

  ffmeg -r 20 -pattern_type glob -i "*.jpg" -c:v libx264 test.mp4

Firefox complains "video can't be played because the file is corrupt" Google Chrome and VLC have no problems playing the file.

What options for ffmpeg do I need to create the mp4 files so that firefox can play them?

I installed firefox and am trying to open the Vegas World sign in app and it's doing nothing in the tab, it will not come up. I'm so confused and technically challenged

I want to use Firefox, not Chrome, for my information transfers to Centrelink etc. Firefox stalls - stays blank below - every time I expect to get further info when I have filled in data. This is not so on Chrome, where the next step is revealed after filling in a segment of info/data.
