This has happened a few times before after a Firefox update, but the most recent occurrence was after the update to version 117.0.1. My mouse wheel will not scroll in the bookmarks drop down menu, I have to use the up and down arrows in the drop down menu which is very slow. When the scroll wheel did work in the past, I could be scrolling and then move the cursor to the up or down arrows and scroll even faster still using the scroll wheel and get to the folder I want a lot quicker. The scroll wheel works normally while scrolling through webpages, the only place it doesn't scroll is the bookmarks drop down menu. I'm running Firefox version 117.0.1 (64 bit) on a Windows 10 notebook PC. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

You know how you can type a URL and then Ctr+Enter and FF autopopulates the .com? Well years ago "Shift+Enter" autopopulated ".net" and "Ctrl+Shift+Enter" autopopulated ".org".

I really liked that feature. I know a lot of people don't, or don't see its point; that's not important.

About three years ago, I added UserChrome.js and enable-UserChrome.js , which acomplished the two autopuopulating tasks quite nicely.

Until about four weeks ago. I don't know if an FF update stopped reading those two .js files, or if there's a conflict somewhere else, or what. I don't know where to begin - other than posting here for help.

I can't turn off lazy loading. I set the following about:config settings to "false":

browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand browser.sessionstore.restore_tabs_lazily browser.sessionstore.restore_pinned_tabs_on_demand

Nothing changes. When I start Firefox, it simply won't load all tabs. How do I fix this?

Lately, Bookmarks has been deselecting itself in Sync on all three of my computers. This has happened twice in the past few days. No problem with other Sync items.

I Closed the browser and forgot that I had a private one open too. When I went to open the main Firefox window up, my previous session was wiped! I already tried the right clicking plus sign method to no avail. It just brings up the one I had after searching how to bring back the session and then accidentally closed the browser after. Any tips on how to get it back? Why does this happen just because you have a private window open??? Change that ASAP!

Watching videos on Twitter/X doesn't seem to work too well on Firefox. I don't have an account, but I sometimes have to watch a clip on the site. The problem is that you cannot skip the video i.e. you cannot move the dot that shows where you are on the video; you have to watch it from the start, till the end. You cannot also change the volume, apart from clicking on the "mute", so technically here you have the options of full sound and no sound. Twitter has always worked perfectly on the Microsoft Edge that came with the Windows on this desktop PC (bought in fall 2020).

The right pane on google drive is not loading on firefox. It says "Couldn't load, Try again". Dev tools show the error "NS_ERROR_INTERCEPTION_FAILED".

If i clean the data and cookies for the website it starts working but not for long. Last time i did it i lasted like 5 minutes. Turning off all the extensions doesn't help.

I'm logged in on several google accounts, don't know if that matters.

Since 117(Beta)I have an issue with Firefox refusing to apply the update it downloaded. I've tried searching left and right on the internet for a solution and one does work which is installing the newer version of the browser each time myself. But this is ofcourse not a solution in the long run.

It tries now to apply the update 118b9 to stable version 118 and it did downloaded just fine and asked me if I wanted to close the program to let it update which always worked. I've tried different DNS to see if that could be the problem, tried a clean default profile to see if that helped, I haven't tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it, due to me losing my passwords and what not.

I also tried to run the stable version to see if the issue was still there and it is still there, so me using the beta channel isn't the issue here.

Many websites I use on a regular basis have become unusable on firefox which i have used for over a decade. I can't change my Flickr cover photo because the pop up window is too huge, can't view a complete google doc because the thing is enormous, etc. The issue is that I MUST have the ability to set text in firefox to larger and I do so via the view - zoom in and zoom text only options. I have to have this ability because I have a visual disability. I do not have this issue using chrome but I detest chrome and want to keep using firefox, but entire portions of windows are cut off when they open up and I can't access them by zooming out either. The only thing that changes is the text gets so small that it is totally unreadable. This is a HUGE problem for me. I will NOT change my default windows setting to try and fix a firefox issue because that then screws up my window sizes for games, programs etc for my other software that I also use daily. So I won't be changing what works for 20 programs via windows settings to make ONE browser work better. This is a firefox problem, and firefox needs to fix it. I have tried multiple solutions cited online and nothing is working. If firefox is trying to get rid of it's users with visual disabilities, this is the way to go. This morning, I brought up Firefox and found my bookmarks (including the toolbar) had vanished. I tried restoring my profile folder, but that didn't help. I also tried restoring the bookmarks from Firefox's own backups, but I got some "Unable to process backup file." messages. What do I do now?

As per subject. After i close FF - and it is no longer showing as an app in Task manager. When i try to restart it, it says it's still running and i have to ask it to close FF before it will open it again. AFAICS It happens randomly.

It may be relevant that when using CCleaner, it often (randomly) hangs when cleaning FF internet cache and says FF needs to be closed when it is already closed and does not appear in task manager. If i ask CCleaner to close FF, the application hangs.

Less likely perhaps to be relevant: i got a rogue change of Favicon on one site. I eventually deleted the relevant file hoping the Favicons would repopulate. Most have, but many haven't including hotmail and protonmail sites.

There seem to be many causes/solutions to FF hanging but i thought these specific circumstances might make it easier to suggest what the problem is exactly and how to fix it.

I want to make the bottom scroll bar specially to be appeared only on hover and not when scrolling or even make it 100% transparent? I really dont want the bottom scrollbar to interface

Dear all, we have lot of cases reported from Firefox users around the world. Users reported that the menu of the Firefox changing to default ---- installed version.

This feature https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/use-firefox-another-language simply not working on current stable and beta Firefox.

When the window with languages is closed it immediately forget every languages except default.

Workaround is install language version that user would use, but this is not easy way id we need to create all language package version in our global company.

I run several of my Firefox windows in compact sizes, and there are just so many little icons taking up space in the address typing field (what do you call it? It isn't the address bar).

I do not use the Tracker shield. I do not use Padlock "Verified". I do not use "You have granted this website blah blah permissions". I do not use Open in Picture-in-Picture, or the bookmark buttons.

These features, when I need them, I would rather access from somewhere else, like from a menu or with a shortcut key combo.

See the image of how cramped it is with the imo superfluous buttons that for some reason decided they have to live in the text box, preventing me from seeing what I type.

How does it come that it is still present in 117? Why is there no official guide or warning about this issue? I am forced to use Portable 101 where there are no such bugs. The solution in the thread is unclear and points to Microsoft, which is ridiculous. The question is how to solve that Mozilla's bug?

Suddenly, I found I could not access Wall St Journal through my public library website using Firefox: I had one-time accessed Wash Post through the same site vs. daily accessing WSJ and after that any access would lead me to WP and not offer WSJ as a choice. Per the public library advice, I switched to Edge and immediately could access WSJ per usual and did not have the problem as with Firefox. Why? I have also had some sites which could not be accessed through Firefox but only through another browser like Edge.

Hi, My computer was having some issues and I thought that I transfer everything to a flash drive to transfer my information to a new computer. Come to find out it didn't transfer over to the flash drive. So everything is lost. My book marks and my saved web sites and passwords to them. I was wondering is there any way that you can help to retrieve them?

Version 118.0 Seit heute Morgen kann ich Firefox nicht mehr normal starten. Nur als Admin, es werden aber keine Webseiten mehr angezeigt und wenn ich in die Adresszeile etwas eingebe passiert nichts. Ich habe den Browser deinstalliert und neu installiert, ohne Erfolg. Dann habe ich die Unser Datei gelöscht, ohne Erfolg. Die Firewall blockiert nicht und den Virenschutz habe ich deaktiviert, ohne Erfolg. Beides ist das original Win10 Werkzeug. Wenn ich about:support eingebe passiert nichts, kann das Menu aber über den Link öffnen
