Hello,

I love your browser. However, I have noticed that with each update the menu size has gotten smaller and smaller. Can you please tell me where I can make the adjustment size to my preference. I have looked for addons, and through countless old videos trying to accomplish this but it's simply not happening.

I have the current version for 64bit systems, which is 96.0.1. Please help.

My C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp folder fills up with Firefox update folders called "MozillaBackgroundTask{numberletterstring}", a new one of which appears every 7 hours (except when computer is off because I changed the Update setting after this issue started so the "Allow Firefox to automatically install updates" has the "when Firefox is not running" unchecked). Every day I delete the previous day's folders. This is annoying. It started within the last month. I don't use Firefox as my default browser. This only happens on my Windows 7 Pro laptop, not on my Windows 10 laptop. Can anyone tell me why this has started happening and how to stop these files keep accumulating please?

I am having trouble while making a call on messenger by Facebook. I can answer the call but within 2-3 seconds, the call gets disconnected by showing this message "Connection lost". I cannot hear anything from the other side and vice versa. I have allowed the site to use microphone and earphone to use. Don't know what went wrong. My Firefox version is 96.0.1 for Linux and my OS is MX-Linux 21. Please help me if you can. Thanks in advance.

I am using Firefox 96.0.1 on macOS Monterey 12.1

If you have "'Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed checked in Privacy & Security/Cookies and Site Data then this causes sites that use a service worker to fail registration with the error:

"Failed to register/update a ServiceWorker for scope https://every-layout.dev/: Storage access is restricted in this context due to user settings or private browsing mode."

This *only* occurs with Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Brave etc. all register the service worker OK. I know the workaround is to put in an Exception to Allow but this should not be necessary. In this case the service worker is use to provide access to paid for content and off-line reading.

I contacted the site's developers and they tell me that they have been waiting for ages for Mozilla to fix this issue and suggested I used an alternative browser.

Can anyone explain why Firefox behaves in this way and if this "feature" will be fixed on future releases?

Thanks

John

Recently (past several months) firefox has been taking every light mode theme I choose and changing it to dark mode. Do. Not. Want.

Once a theme has been "changed", I can never use it in light mode again. So I'm left mode-hopping in the hopes of being able to get a readable light mode for a couple days, until I have to change again.

I've checked other questioners but their answers didn't solve this.

Firefox on my Win 10 desktop seems to be saving logins just fine, but Firefox on my linux laptop isn't. Instead of saving the logins I've actually used (manually) to log into a website, it offers me instead the next time I attempt to log into the website a list of some user IDs I've never used on that website. Why is that?! Anybody have any idea why, where saving logins is concerned, my Windows Firefox is working fine, but my linux Firefox is not? Thanks for any insight you can provide.

>>>>>Search Suggestions Choose how suggestions from search engines appear.<<<<< I cannot get >>>>>Show search suggestion ahead of browsing history in address bar history<<<<< to stay un-checked.

When I find-out still being listed, I go back and find only that part remaining checked, I cannot uncheck it, unless I check >>>>>Provide search engines<<<<<. If I leave it like that, nothing changes. If also un-check >>>>>Provide search engines<<<<<, nothing at all is checked, still I cannot get >>>>>Show search suggestion ahead of browsing history in address bar history<<<<< to stay un-checked.

I tried to find a save changes button, but cannot. I assume changes are saved automatically, considering all the rest of the changes are as they should be.

hello all- When Sync job cycles, what is hierarchy determining which component version (Bookmarks, logins, etc) is applied to profiles on other computers?

Two computers, A and B. Bookmark file on A last revised two days ago. Bookmark file on B last revised 60 days ago. I need all profile components on B to match A. Essentially B is updated to A's version.

How does synch determine which version is the 'Master' used to overwrite the versions on other computers?

I saw in another thread that Synch uses latest modification date to set priority. This would seem to be the most logical criterion. But I want to be sure before cycling Sync.

(Spent 10 minutes searching threads before posting this question. There were some oblique references hinting at prioritization, but not an absolute statement describing prioritization.) thanks!

Firefox is an excellent browser. I use it on all of my devices.

Is there a way to save the current tab to a URL file on the Windows (Version 7 and 10) file system. I realize you can do that by dragging the URL from the Firefox URL list box to the file folder but for various reasons I was hoping that it would also be possible as one of the choices from the Menu (as in "\File\Save Page As").

If that is possible I have another question.

In a Windows file folder with a number of URL files, can I select a number of those files and right-click the selected files and have them all loaded on to Firefox simultaneously.

I know that this worked with a single URL file in a Windows file folder (by Double Clicking it) but I have not been able to find a way to do it with a group of selected URLs in a Windows file folder.

Both of the above were available in the old (now no longer functional) IExplorer from Microsoft.

None of this is critical but I was just curious.

Thanks.

I am working on that but i can hook up the ssd i have in that computer to another work computer that i have but it does not have all of my work stuff since i have been working from home due to covid. Is it possible to load up the session i had on my original ssd that is now currently going to be setup as an external drive for my work computer until i can fix my home pc? I ask because i had alot of tabs open with work related stuff that i had not bookmarked at the time so i really need to restore that session so i can recover that work. Any help would be much appreciated.

This is a question in relation to [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1302462|this]

The fix suggested there seems reasonably easy to follow but I'm a bit unsure about this

Delete all extensions* files and compatibility.ini in the Firefox profile folder to reset the extensions registry.

Apart from compatibility.ini I can see two extensions*, namely extension-preferences.json and extensions.json. Is that correct?

Now I'm supposed to delete those three files. And here comes my question:

What does New files will be created when required. mean? What I'm worried about is that all my extensions will disappear and I will have to start with from scratch reinstalling them all again.

Autofill Addresses shows up under Forms & Autofill, but not credit cards! Sequence of events: 1) Credit card autofill worked fine. 2) Installed (Intego) VPN & software suite. Set the net barrier application rule to block ksfetch; allowed all other Firefox connections. Credit card auto fill info showed per usual but now would not populate. 3) Researching in FF forums, changed a few extensions.formautofill settings. That's when credit card section disappeared from Settings. Thought it was a good time to stop; did not take screen shot of settings before making changes, so thought it best to reach out.
