I’ve been taking a look at the latest updates regarding the new Firefox design rolling out in Nightly, and while I appreciate the ongoing work and the return of features like Compact Mode, I wanted to share some thoughts from a user perspective, particularly regarding the aesthetic changes.

Personally, I’m not a big fan of heavily rounded edges across tabs and UI elements. For my workflow and visual preference, I much prefer a cleaner, sharper, and more traditional layout.

With these UI evolutions coming down the pipeline, it would be fantastic if Mozilla could provide a built-in option or setting to keep the current/classic style intact while still receiving all the important under-the-hood updates, security patches, and features. Giving users the flexibility to choose between the new design language and a more traditional layout would ensure everyone can tailor Firefox to their exact liking.

Would love to hear how others feel about the new look and whether a classic style toggle would be a welcome addition for you too!

There must be a way to turn off this popup off. This is REALLY annoying when it covers a password box and to remove it i must click outside it and I lose focus on the password box. If you must put he box there then at least leave the first part of the password box clear so I cab click on it and not have to click again to get the focus back.

I deleted a profile not knowing it would delete everything I had. How can I undo it? I didn't want Firefox Profiles, it was forced. I deleted it, and everything just got deleted. Can someone please help revert this? Thanks.

two days ago, video embeds on Twitter stopped working in Firefox. Please help me troubleshoot the issue, so that I can either fix it myself, or present enough evidence to file a proper bug report.

Affected version: FF 140 ESR. I had some 140.7 installed when the error first happened, but have upgraded to firefox-esr_140.10.1esr-1_amd64 since. Didn't fix the problem. *Not* a snap package, regular .deb!

Affected OS: Ubuntu 26.04 LTS, not a fresh install but upgraded from 24.04 instead (which itself was upgraded from 22.04).

Symptoms: Videos on X (and Facebook) no longer play, the preview image is there for a split second, then an error appears. Video on for example Youtube is fine, though. Local players like VLC also do work as expected. Video on X worked under 26.04 before this happened.

The issue likely started when removing surplus packages and metapackages from the upgrade. I of course tried re-installing these, but this also doesn't fix the problem.

On my journey of fixing this myself, I also asked the all-hallucinating knowledge randomizer frontend of OpenAI, which made me check a couple generic spots on my system and in FF itself.

Firefox popped up an offer to change the screen to dark, which I did. I don't like it, want to change it back. I went to settings but was unable to make the change.

I have a new Mozilla (FireFox) account and keep getting emails that say I need to confirm it. They include a button to do so but I'm not clicking it unless I get better information from you. Please help. The email swears my account will be deleted if I don't confirm it. What do I do?

Using version 88.0 and browser - both outdated and not supported. How can I update to newest version and browser? I am 80 yrs old and not computer literate. Please keep it simple. No human help is available - I am alone.

I am using Ubuntu 22.04. Firefox version is 143.0. IIRC firefox recently updated. I have the setting "Open previous windows and tabs" checked. Until very recently it has always worked but now when Firefox is closed all tabs are lost and don't appear when reopening Firefox. How to fix???

Latest update on Ubuntu force reset the sidebar. Reminder for those that do not want, the process to remove it is:

• Go into about:config in the address bar,
• search for sidebar.revamp,
• set it to false.

I've been using Firefox on Linux since it was Nautilus. Currently running EasyOS Linux Daedalus and Excalibur on different Lenovo ThinkCentre Tiny Core i3-8100t boxes and different drives: A good Samsung SSD and two good flashdrives. 32G new RAM installed on each box. I've been using these boxes for over a year. For the last month or so, ever since updating to v. 146 my tabs have been crashing like crazy! I don't normally have more than 10 tabs open at once. But now, as soon as I open a 5th tab it crashes.

I'm running Top to watch CPU and RAM usage. I see nothing unusual. I've rebooted. Disabled all add-ons and run in Troubleshoot mode. Tabs still crash. My only add-ons are uBlock Origin, Temporary Containers and Dark Mode. It happens whether I have hardware acceleration turned on or off. I don't know what else to try. So I had logged into this Firefox account, but while I was, I forgot my password. I needed to enter the correct code from the email, but I lost the recovery key; I needed to enter in the 2FA code from my phone, then I could now change the password. When I logged in, boom, bookmarks gone. Passwords gone, and browsing history gone. I was waiting for it all to sync, but it had probably synced the deletion of everything possibly. I have no idea what happened, but I do not believe my account was compromised, because I did not get any emails about any new logins. If it is encrypted, how can I decrypt it so I can get my stuff back? Thanks.

Hi! i was wondering why my firefox reseted after reboot. i have all the important tabs and bookmarks for my university work, chores and articles, platforms that are mandetory on my uni. also, i was tinkering with partitions before the reboot because my steam didnt want to run any games. i was guided by the chat gpt with terminal coding to do get steam working even tho i didnt solve the problem. is there any way you can help me?

I was finally forced to update my Firefox to the released version. I am increasingly unable to log in to various "secure" websites with Firefox 140...1 although Chrome 106 (old, but can't update) has no problem. There are also a number of captchas that are simply invisible to firefox. Why is this happening?

Need an update for the update. My Mozilla settings say my operating system (Ubuntu 22.04) handles the updates, and it's a deadend. I can only use my browser for one minute before it freezes.

Hi there! The New Tab page looks great with white text, but Firefox 140.0.4 thinks my wallpaper is white, so text should be dark. I can change the body class to "activity-stream darkWallpaper" using the inspector and it works fine, but how make this change permanently?

I am on Linux Mint 21.2, and I just updated Firefox (141.0). Now, the bookmarks bar, toolbar, and the tabs (everything above the displayed page), as well as the menu, bookmarks menu, and sidebar, are in light mode even though I have dark mode set (They were dark before the update). I tried playing with the Dark Mode settings to no avail. My system is set to dark mode in general. Are others experiencing this? Is there some sort of fix?

`StartupWMClass=firefox-aurora` in `/usr/share/applications/firefox-devedition.desktop`, with actually `firefox-dev` for opened windows.

Version: Ubuntu 25.04, GNOME 48, firefox-devedition 143.0b2.
