I'm not sure what topic to put this under, but I think I chose the best one.

It has been force closing and then won't open to any page (including the Google tab page). I keep getting an error that says "the code execution Cannot proceed because VCRUNTIME140 DLL was not found". I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling the app to no avail, I've tried completely shutting off my computer and doing %appdata% and completely getting it off my computer & nothing.

help please!

Running Linux Mint Mate 19.2 on two computers. Starting about 2 weeks ago, when trying to sign into providencejournal.com (with a paid subscription) using Firefox 97.0.1, just one of the computers displays an error message, see attached. We have used that site for years without issues, and the other computer still signs in correctly. On the problem computer I have just installed the Opera browser, for test purposes, and with Opera the sign-in succeeds. In F/F, I have tried disabling extensions, allowing all trackers and cookies, and reinstalling Javascript, all to no avail. preference is to use F/F, can anyone offer a solution?

I was working on my computer earlier today. Open FF and it asked to download an new update. I chose yes. A little later I closed out of FF and shortly after that got back into FF and the update installed. Now, windows for any application open and close slowly, almost like they are fading in when opening and fading out when closing.

Additionally, my taskbar, which is set to auto hide, very slowly un-hides and very slowly hides. All this was working fine before the install of FF 97.0.2 (32-bit) and became an issue immediately after the install (i.e., opening FF after downloading and closing FF).

Does anyone have any ideas on what the reason for this issue is? Did some setting get changed? Thanks.

In the new version, the Downloads panel automatically opens whenever I save/download a file.

The problem... it STAYS open.

How can I turn it off? I already know where and how to check on my downloaded files. I do not need to see the downloads panel pop up every time I save a file. And I definitely do not need or want it to stay open, causing yet another need for a mouse click to make it go away.

Greetings- I was using my browser (single window, three open tabs) and I checked task manager - Firefox has several concurrent processes running and I don't understand. I understand the sandbox and one process having several child processes, but this I believe is suspect.

I also noticed that in the "Security at a glance" window in Win11, my icons have changed - there's a weird white box on most of the security icons. I'm thinking I may be under some sort of virus/trojan, etc., yet I've ran antivirus even in prior to boot and got nothing

I have read on different sites that other people over the years have had issues with Firefox causing router/modem problems. One case was related to Amazon, another case to Home Depot, but in my case it is caused on the initial start of Firefox after a boot. Once the router/modem is reset, we can restart Firefox multiple times each day and it never causes a problem again. In our case, it is caused by the home page (aolmail.com). I have read all the solutions that I have found and the only thing that appears to work for us is to start Firefox in Troubleshooting Mode. Then we are fine with no further modem/router hang ups. Any suggestions as to what to try to resolve this issue. It's on my Wife's computer and if she ain't happy, no one else is. Thanks.

I browse web, I see an image to save. prior to today (03-09-2022) I click save as and it saved file to my downloads folder. but today, I click save as and instantly the list of files I saved pops up on right side. below the list of files it shows "show all downloads"

this window is easily accessible by left clicking clicking the download icon. i do not want this box popping up on each file/image saved. or rather, why is it doing it suddenly?

running 2 addons: TinEye - reverse image search Video DownLoadHelper

both of these I have zero issues with and have been running them both circa firefox 45? or older

When I go to https://squareup.com/login the entry fields do not appear in Firefox. It's impossible for me to access my Square account through Firefox currently, which I use for client invoicing. I have no trouble logging in through Chrome. Screenshot attached.

I have Privacy Badger and AdBlock installed for both browsers. I tried disabling them for Firefox just to see if that was the issue, but it made no difference. I am using an iMac running macOS Catalina version 10.15.7. My Firefox Browser is version 97.0.1, and currently shows that it's up to date. My Chrome browser is version 98.0.4758.109, also up to date.

Does anyone else have an issue opening documents? All of a sudden Firefox no longer allows me to open certain files. When I go to the settings, the only applications that I have options for are PDF, AV1F, XML, SVG and WebP Image. I seem to have lost the ability to selection "open", "save" or "always ask" for all other documents such as Word, Excel, etc. Screenshot included.

This seems to have happened out of nowhere.

I went to start my tax return at the IRS Free Fillable Forms site and was met with a bit of a mess. All the input and check boxes are offset up and to the left. Same happens with my Chrome folder renamed and in Troubleshoot Mode. It does not happen with a new profile, and adding my user.js to it doesn't make the problem happen.

Seems like it must be a config setting I made, but I can't find it looking at about:config/modified only. Any ideas what setting might be causing this? Interestingly, it also happens with beta and nightly, but the offset positions are different.

This problem appears on Windows 10 (on versions 20H0 and 21H2) and on Firefox 98.0 (64-bit)

When launching the Firefox or Tor browser, either through a shortcut or directly from the .exe, a blank error message window appears as shown in the picture appended below. It should be noted that when the browser is launched through a given link in an e-mail or a hyperlink it works as expected (being set as the default browser), but when using links saved on the desktop the same problem appears.

So far I have tried the following without any result: 1)Clearing the startup cache

(after the restart the error sound played the first time a previously open tab was switched to, while the
   page itself appeared empty)

2)Removing all extensions 3)Deleting the Firefox default profile 4)Uninstalling and reinstalling the browser 5)Updating the Windows system 6)Scanning for viruses/malware (Microsoft Defender Antivirus, Malwarebytes, HitmanPro) with no positives

Thanks you and best regards

firefox itself opens and loads within seconds perfectly fine,[...] But when I try to go to any website, it takes ages to load and function normally. [...]

Once it has loaded the website(s) it functions completely normally

As the solution in that thread was a full format I'm reopening this to find a more precise solution.

I tried everything on that thread without success. Deactivated every plug-in and the problem persist. Running in safe-mode corrects the problem.

I attach an image of the profiler (I can send the full profile if needed)
