Hi,

Firefox version: 139.0.4 (64-bit) OS: Windows 11

I have been having issues where Firefox tab will just crash out for no reason it appears and it happens at random times and once the tab start to crash, and I restore it, it will crash again and again. The only way tog et out of the loop is to restart Firefox.

I have tried: Refreshing/Reset, Clearing Cache and History removing all themes, disabling extensions, disabling my anti virus. Turning off hardware acceleration didn't make any different.

I currently have 2 extensions enabled: uBlock Origin 1.64.0 and Bitwarden Password Manager 2025.5.0

In the about:Crashes I have reported them all and they seem to have the same type of reasons in the Raw data/Minidump which are: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_WRITE EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ

Any help as to what to try next?

Firefox repeatedly crashes on my, multiple times a day. I'dc really like to NOT have to change my default browser to Chrome.

What happens is that Firefox freezes, and I get a white bar at the top telling me so. I get a popup box asking if I want to close Firefox or wait for it to respond. Waiting doesn't work, so I always have to close Firefox. When I reopen it, fortunately all m,y open tabs are retained, but it crashes again within minutes or seconds as soon as I click on anything.

There only thing that seems to work is a reboot of my PC. But the respite is short before Firefox crashes again.

I've disabled most plugins, but that hasn't helped. Is there a way to create an event log within Firefox that I can share with someone at Mozilla to help e debug the issue? It's got to be something local rather than Firefox itself; I can't imagine this is happening to most users.

When I press a hotkey that involves Ctrl (ie. opening a new Tab via Ctrl+T or closing one via Ctrl+W) Ctrl sometimes remains stuck until I press it again. This will cause issues ie. when I open a new tab and try to type a new address (or search term), and Ctrl causes new hotkeys to be executed.

I've even tried launching firefox with a new profile, and on safe mode (firefox --safe-mode -p <something-else-than-usual>), so no bookmarks, cookies or extensions should be causing this, and it will still happen sometimes. The annoying part is that this seems to be an issue with performance. It happens less-often with the empty profile and safe mode, but it still happens, especially if I had just opened a new page some tab, causing the most minute thing for firefox to process.

The problem is probably not the computer specs either (below my specs). Indeed, from what I can tell, firefox does not even seem to function particularily slow in any case. Just this ctrl being stuck seems to happen.

I have also tried disabling hardware-acceleration (and explicitly enabling it), no effect.

Other interesting facts I've discovered: - This for sure does not happen in other programs and - This does not happen with the Ctrl for all the keybinds within firefox. For example, Ctrl+A (for select all) does not trigger this

(I have no idea why it's reporting that I'm using Sway, I'm most certainly only using labwc, maybe labwc just reports sway for some programs for compatibility) I've installed firefox from pacman, and my current version is firefox 134.0.1-1

I'm not sure what else I could share at this point

Since updating to version 135 all the tabs crash. I've uninstalled\reinstalled, deleted app data, disabled AV and created a new profile. The only time it works is in troubleshooting mode. I've looked at extensions and plugins and I'm only seeing OpenH264 video codec and Widevine content decryption. I've disabled those but still get the crashed tabs.

I'm also not generating any crash logs.

For many years, I have been exchanging video calls on Facebook.

Recent attempts to video call the same person I've been video calling for the past 3 years result in "your browser doesn't support video calls"

Have I been "hacked"?

Please explain.

Firefox keeps crashing and Hanging and I get the error message "gah your tab etc" I have followed the advice for fixing the problem but it keeps coming back Its really annoying when you are trying to do something I'm no computer whiz and I have looked at the crash reports, its just gobble gook to me, I need help to fix the problem.

I have notebook no issues, My Desktop however I get tabs crashing with firefox, Apache Open Office but not with Doc files in open office and not with chrome and Edge they run without any issues. My computer is awsome it seems to me this version of firefox is either being pushed out or its not coping with large loads. I removed all of my 32gb ram tonight just to test the ram my ram is fine. Is it a known issue that opening JIRA web pages immediately crashes and closes the Firefox browser on Windows 11. It never happened on Windows 10 however due to Windows 10 end of life we've been forced to upgrade at work. Now this crashes on a key webpage (we're software delevelopers). So we might have to change to Chrome which I really don't want to do. It would be great if you could find any or many crash reports I've filed and fix the issue.

Firefox crashes constantly when I load it mostly when in youtube though. I've gone through the various troubleshooting options over the last month or so and Firefox is still crashing constantly for me, even in Troubleshooting mode. I have Win 11 dell computer that does not play or pick up sound from web sites videos .I checked and tested my sound using the Microsoft platform & buy playing a disc. It works OK

Since a few weeks I have been encountering an issue where tabs in Firefox would frequently crash. I do have various add-ons installed, however I haven't installed any new ones around the time the issue has been occurring. I've been unable to track down which add-on or if any add-on might be causing this.

Trying to search for this issue all I could come up with is that it might be an issue of a faulty CPU. I have an i9-13900KF which has been known to be part of the Intel generation with serious flaws. However I already installed a BIOS update and applied Intel's recommended settings to undervolt the CPU to prevent any issues. This was well before the Firefox tab crashing issue happened. So I'm not sure if it can really be the issue of a faulty CPU, but I've also had issues of other programs randomly crashing recently (like Discord or Steam).

The tab crash can occur on any website, for example Youtube, Duckduckgo, Protonmail, etc. The crash reason always is either "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION_READ" or just "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION". The crash also most of the time (but not always) occurs when loading the page itself or a video / live stream on it. But not when browsing an already loaded page (for example this forum post page I'm writing right now).

I've done all the troubleshooting I could find, including: Uninstalling, tried using beta ff, disabled hardware acceleration, disabled/removed all extensions, memtest, updated various drivers. I have Firefox on two separate computers, a desktop running Win7Prof64bit and a laptop running Win10Pro 64bit. Both Firefox installations crash constantly, ie every 10 - 15 mins. They show the "Gah! Firefox just crashed. Please tell us what you were doing", and the box to return the data to Mozilla. With Restore This Tab at the bottom.

I always send you these reports but in about a year, the problem remains the same. Nothing has improved, I never hear back from you. Two different PCs, two different OSs, constant reports, no improvement. Why do I never hear from you? Why does this problem continue endlessly? I'm wasting my time sending you the reports. You take no notice. If you do, why does the problem continue and why do I never hear from you?
