I received the error message that Firefox could not open because it was already running, but this did not show on the task manager. I googled the issue and stumbled upon a solution where people had deleted their profile in order to solve it. So I did, and Firefox worked again, but all of my passwords, bookmarks and everything was lost. Is it possible to recover this?

I am using a Mac.

Mind you, I am super bad at technicalities and would probably need explanations as if I am five years old.

When syncing between devices, the location of bookmarks in subfolders is not remembered

I use Firefox on 3 devices: - a PC at home (Win 10, FF standard instalation), - an Android phone (Xiaomi Mi 9T) - a PC at work (Win7) with the Firefox portable version.

I have the latest, stable, up-to-date versions of Firefox on all my devices.

The problem is when I save a bookmark on one of the computers at work or at home, and then the devices synchronize. Bookmarks between computers do not remember their position in the bookmark folders and are saved in the main folder.

I have already performed all the steps based on the instructions in this article, but the problem persists. ([https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1270667])

Okay so last year I built myself a new desktop PC around August 2020. I was using an Android smartphone prior to that and had some bookmarks on it I wanted to transfer to the desktop. I mistakenly thought it would simply 'absorb' those Android bookmarks into the bookmark collection I already had on this new desktop, but after using sync, it straight up removed the desktop bookmarks that were there and replaced them with the android ones exclusively. Another neat little 'feature' is how the bookmarks were also completely erased from the Android device after this.

So once that happened, I restored my old desktop bookmarks, but then the bookmarks that were imported from the Sync from the android were now gone. My question is this: are those sync'd android bookmarks actually anywhere at all, like did Firefox automatically archive them somewhere just in case, or are they just lost completely? Thanks.

With the new version 89 the row height for bookmarks is way too big and now I am scrolling all over the place. I had them all perfectly spaced to show all in my full screen without scrolling. Is there an adjustment where I can go back to the previous narrower height?

I reset my Firefox browser and my bookmarks did not transfer over properly. They are all there but you can only access them by clicking Bookmarks>Manage Bookmarks after which all my bookmarks appear in the favorites bar in the proper order and fully functional on the left side of the pop up window. Then there are a bunch of duplicated folders.

Is there a way for me to put the favorites bar back in the bookmarks tab on the right side of the page?

I just updated to the latest Foxfire version for my mac, os version 10.13.6 (high sierra). Before when I accessed a folder of bookmarks in the bookmark listing, it displayed to the left side of the screen, which is my best eye. Now on the new version, picked up in the last week, it displays on the right side. I'm getting an ache in my neck. How can I convince it to display to the left side of my screen?

 Help!

Just today 7/17/21 my bookmarks toolbar disappeared but I was able to restore it. But all the saved bookmarks in the bookmarks toolbar that always appeared in Bookmarks Toolbar don't appear in the Bookmarks Toolbar column. AND when I try to add bookmarks to the bookmark toolbar a circle with a line through it appear preventing me from adding bookmarks. Couldn't find any solutions online in Firefox Help websites. Does anyone have a solution to restore saved bookmarks to bookmarks toolbar and add new bookmarks like I have always done? Thank you.

I recently reinstalled Firefox after doing a full Windows reinstall on my PC. Since then, my bookmarks are not displaying on the bookmarks toolbar. I've "refreshed" Firefox from the control panel, rebooted my PC, and reinstalled Firefox. I've also moved the bookmarks from the toolbar folder in the bookmark manager and then put them back. Any suggestions?

I mistakenly closed a Firefox desktop window with several thousand tabs in it. (Yes, I know, "several thousand"). Tried to restore it after restarting my box by going to: CTL+SHIFT+H > Import and Backup > Restore > [date] My configuration is here: http://paste.c-net.org/ComboRound.

Firefox normally responds with: "This will replace all of your current bookmarks with the backup. Are you sure?" Clicking "OK" leads to nothing. Firefox just does becomes unresponsive for maybe 20s and then apparently aborts the command with no message at all.

I have no doubt that this is due to the massive number of tabs involved, even though the cached tab-file only weighs 630kB. How can I recover those tabs even if it's in a piecemeal manner and using command line in terminal ? Thank you.
