I'm totally fed up with this! I got this particular one trying to go to Amazon via a link from search but it's happening constantly with links from search and from other sites that I'm on. I am on Amazon a lot. I don't know what this behavior is, where it's coming from, why it's happening, or how to stop it. I'm at the point of just uninstalling Firefox because of it. I've tried the common fixes such as clearing cache and cookies as well as all saved data and it still persists. Firefox has been my default browser for a very long time but if this can't be stopped permanently, I'm done with it!

Hello, can someone please tell me how I can access https://localhost:6000/ in Firefox as I need to access this address for the OctoPrint software so I can configure it.

All the articles I have read about going into the about:config and adding the port number do not work for me.

So can someone please help me with this and point me in the direction of a working article I can use?

I am using version 130.0 (64bit) of Firefox.

Any help much appreciated and thanks.

Hello,

I have all the the telemetry collection options disabled in "about:preferences#privacy". However, I've observed that my browser is still connecting to "incoming.telemetry.mozilla.org".

Any idea what this is about? Is there another setting somewhere I need to disable, to prevent it? Or is data being sent despite my explicit request?

Thank you!

I want to figure out how to log into to my bank without triggering 2FA every single time.

At the moment, if I log in and tick the "stay logged in" box, complete the 2FA, tick the "remember this device" box, I still have to log in two hours later, and go through the whole rigamarole again.

I assume this is some cookie setting of my own doing, but I don't know what I did.

I have Firefox using the "Standard' setting to balance protection and performance at <about:preferences#privacy>

Here's what I've tried:

  • I added the URL to "exceptions for enhanced tracking protection"
  • I added a specific exception to "cookies and site data" to specify that the site can "Always" allow cookies.

Just now, I removed all of my existing cookies for the site, in case I set some cookie previously that is telling it to never track anything. But if that doesn't work, is there anything I can do to ensure that the bank will actually remember that I did successfully complete 2FA in this browser already today?

Recently when viewing the ESPN website, it abruptly changes to Qwest. When I back click to return to the previous page, instead it switches to Amazon. The initial switch to Qwest happens whether or not I click on an ESPN story link or not (I never click on ads). When this occurs, I avoid clicking any links on the Qwest page, instead opting to close the page and then Firefox altogether to avoid a security risk. Are there any steps I should take to prevent this from occurring? Thank you for your time and consideration! Brett Portland, Oregon

Although the tab for "Autofill Payment Methods" is checked within the Privacy and Security section in settings, when I click on one of my various saved credit cards, autofill doesn't seem to happen anymore when I'm trying to make a payment. That applies to all of my saved credit cards.

Why, and what can I do about it?

Hi,

I am working on a web crawler that scrapes set of websites analyzing certain privacy strings that are present before and after Global Privacy Signals are sent. We make use of Selenium Web Driver to perform the crawl. Part of the data we collect is the urlClassification of third party sites that are tracking users on the site, via Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection. However when performing the crawl, Enhanced Tracking Protection data is no longer available while Selenium has automatic control over Firefox, even though there is indeed third party sites (fingerprinters, cross-site tracking cookies) active on these sites when they are manually visited not using our crawler. Does anyone have an idea why our software may be interfering with Firefox's Enhanced Tracking Protection? Thanks!

Hi,

I am was looking for jobs and ran across a website called Lensa.com. Well i setup an account and I wish i didn't.

I don't think the site is legit. I have deleted my account, but I keep getting messages from them, and they are coming directly through firefox. I have added a picture below.

I don't see any browser extensions that would be doing this. How are they able to do this?

There is nothing in my ubuntu startup.

I am very concerned about this.

I am running ubuntu 24.04 with all updates.
