Hello, I've been unable to access google mail/drive recently, w error code SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER and certificate issuer CISCO. i don't have any antivirus software, I've tried resetting the proxy, clearing cache, reinstalling Firefox, nothing works. If this continues I'll have to definitely move to another browser - with which I have no problem accessing those sites... Help please? Thanks

Today, it started.

When I open sites that I am subscribed to, a small gray-shaded nearly transparent rectangular window appears in the upper right of the screen (see attached screen capture), and it blocks access to login and search, thus rendering the site inoperable. The latest site rendered inoperable is Amazon shopping, so this is not a minor thing. I can no longer retain Firefox as my default browser.

No other browser on my Mac does this; the earlier version of Firefox active last night did not do so either. What is the purpose of this gray-shaded window? It makes the latest browser appear to be infected with malware.

Running OSX 10.13.6 on a mid 2012 Macbook Pro.

Mac OSX 10.13, FireFox 115.1.0esr (64-bit): previously cmd-click on link would open in new background tab. Now it opens the link in BOTH current tab and a new background tab. This has started occurring in the last few days (mid Aug 2023). This is especially a problem when viewing CraigsList where it was very helpful to be able to cmd-click on links of no interest to mark them as "read" while remaining on the main list page. Now it is necessary to back up to previous page (main list) after clicking on each link... Is this perhaps a recent change (I had auto-update turned on)?

I've temporarily turned off the two settings for ocsp_stapling but would like to know if anyone else has all of a sudden started getting this error.

I've been working on a website for the past few weeks and have had no problem until today when I tried to access it and received the error...

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to nycc.site. The OCSP response does not include a status for the certificate being verified.

Error code: MOZILLA_PKIX_ERROR_OCSP_RESPONSE_FOR_CERT_MISSING

The site in question is currently https://nycc.site but this may not be up much longer as it will migrate to a new server in the coming week or two.

I would like to change my password for Mozilla Firefox account. I am doing so because I have been notified of a password security breach. However, upon signing into my account via https://accounts.firefox.com/signin (it doesn't matter which device), I cannot change my password with the new one without the red-colored incorrect password window popping up. I know my signin is correct because I have just signed in using it. Whats the problem guys?

I've got a really old MacBook Pro that's still running 10.13, and Firefox has started displaying a nag screen telling me that this version is no longer supported, and to install a newer version of MacOS.

Is there something in the advanced settings that will stop it nagging me? I now know it's not going to get any more updates, there's no need to keep telling me every 20 minutes...

(Note to the devs: a "don't remind me again" checkbox would be nice for things like this!)

Hi, Am backing up a laptop that needs to go overnight to a repair shop and want to wipe it clean for privacy. Will the passwords saved by firefox be saved in the backup as well?

I've also downloaded them to a csv file as an additional precaution, but have no idea how to reload them into 'saved passwords' after the repairs are complete, as no option is provided for that - only the option to import from another browser... Thanks for your help!

PS: also, why does mozilla require a manual login to this support forum when my login is saved in it's own password saver?? It is not auto-filling it as expected.

This morning I received an email stating: If you are running a version of Firefox equal to or older than Firefox 78 (general release or ESR) and you have a Mozilla account, you must follow these steps to ensure continued operation of your account in Firefox: I have firefox 115.7.0esr (64-bit) running on a mid 2010 macBookPro with High Sierra OS 10.13.6

My question: what does this mean? Is my FF equal or older? And is a Mozilla account the same as a FF account? PLEASE help me, by explaining exactly what I'm supposed to do and HOW and reply in simple comprehensible language, I am NOT a tech/nerd/geek and already following all these numbers has given me a headache! Thanks in advance.

The built-in screenshot feature in Firefox is great in many ways, but for some reason when selecting "Copy" (Copy screenshot to clipboard) instead of "Download", and then pasted into the Apple Mail app the receiver will get a file attachement named "PasteGraphic-1.TIFF".

It would be a lot more practical to have it saved in the PNG format which makes the file smaller and more compatible. I haven't been able to find any option for this though, but is it perhaps hidden somewhere like in "about:config", or is this something the developers can look into?

Still using Firefox 78.15.0 esr (64 bit)

Am I correct that the toolbar icon " - | 100% | + " is the Firefox Zoom function? I have never been able to locate a toolbar icon for NoSquint Plus. I also have Theme & Font Size Changer, but it stopped working years ago. Anyway, working fine for many years, automatically setting the zoom on every tab to 150% so I can read it easily.

A few days ago I got into the NoSquint Plus preferences (NEVER OPEN THE HOOD !!!) , and wondered why it was set to chrome API instead of CSS API and changed it to see. That kind of broke it completely. Maybe changed other stuff trying to get it back...

At present, Firefox Default Zoom is set to 150% . NoSquint Plus is default full page 100% and default text only 150% There are no instructions telling me how these 3 settings will interact.

It seems that when I open NoSquint Plus Preferences and change the %, it works on all the tabs on that page, but not on any other page unless I open it & fiddle with it.

How do I get what I want? There is no "return to default settings" for NoSquint Plus.

Hello

I hope you can help.

Trying to sync my logins/passwords from my laptop to my desktop. It just doesnt work.

I have reset primary password, logged into both devices, selected sync on both devices. But it does not sync to desktop. Both machines come up in the Connected Services setion of my mozilla account.

When i try to manually enter logins & password on desktop list - it keeps asking me to enter my primary password (despite already being logged into firefox).

This is very frustrating so any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm running FF 115.8.0esr on MacOS High SIerra 10.13.6. (desktop). I generally sleep the computer rather than shutting down each day.

The problem - If I have restarted the computer or restarted FF, I can play video and audio OK. Mostly I will find that I can still play for a day or so (even having slept the computer). Then they stop. Opening a new window or a private window doesn't help, the only solution is to restart FF or the computer. All the while, I can get the same video/audio to play on Safari, and Apple iTunes is fine too. It doesn't matter what the source is - YT, Spotify BBC iPlayer, BBC Sounds and so on.

Would really like some help on this!

Let's say I have 20 windows open, each with 30 tabs on. Instead of these windows consuming resources and sitting open, I want a really, really easy way of "saving" each window as is (as they're organised by topic), closing them, and then by hitting just a couple of buttons voila, I can see all the potential windows, select what I need and have it open, and easy to shut again in reverse.

How can I do this? I can't make head nor tail of Firefox bookmarks - have examined the menu option, have read the articles, still as clear as mud. For example, "save all tabs" doesn't seem to mean save all tabs, it just means save tabs in the window you've maximised. Then after creating its own folder in Bookmark menu, when I added a new tab to it I thought that would update. It doesn't. Then I manually did another "save all tabs" for that menu - and the new tab didn't appear.

I don't even know if Bookmarks is the way to even attempt what I'm trying to do here in my question. Does anyone have any great tips on how to minimise the firefox window clutter, but have it really accessible easily?

Thanks.
