When I go to (seemingly) any Elsevier site, the browser tab immediately closes with no error or explanation. An example is this site:

I am a pensioner in te UK. Due to restricted mobility I spend a lot of time using Firefox to access many web sites. This normally works perfectly. Today I tried to access the web site of national chain store specialising in outdoor clothing and equipment because I need a new showerproof jacket. I have never used that site before, yet Firefox reported Error 403 : Forbidden. Have you people never been told tat error messages are supposed to be useful? What is Forbidden. Why when it has not happemed before?

I have a web site so I have other browsers just for checking for layout problems.

I tried Chromium, same error but the message said You are not authorised to access this site. Presumably that is what your incompetent message should have said. But why should a pensioner trying to buy something from a chain store ever need any sort of authorisation?

I tried Opera. Connected me no problem!

I tried Edge. Connected me no problem.

Clearly somebody somewhere is an incompetent idiot, but it isn't me. So who is it? If it is yourselves then please do something to fix this.

Hello, I have just installed Firefox version 144.0.2 on a new computer. I have access to all of the Firefox files and data on the original computer, but I am not able to run Firefox on that computer. Therefore, I am not able to create an export file from the original installation. Is it possible for me to import all of the original Firefox data into the new installation? Hi, after latest update just now, the browsers uses up to 45gb of ram within a few minutes! Not sure what it is, I am on MACOS Sequia Version 15.6.1 (24G90) macbook pro M1

I have an Investors.com account and a feature they offer is a stock sector data table that shows recent performance and other information. When I try to open these tables they close immediately, but if I use my tablet with a different browser they will remain open. I believe this is a simple setting that I need to adjust, but I don't know enough to figure it out.

I have recently encountered reproducible failures when attempting to download files or save pages to local storage. The target directory is located on a mounted NTFS file system with the options umask=007, user=root, and group=disk. My Firefox browser is running under a non-root user account that is a member of the disk group. However, I consistently receive the error message: “XXX could not be saved because the source file could not be read.”

I would greatly appreciate anyone's assistance in resolving this issue.

I updated firefox through apt, and since then, have not been able to log into twitch I am on ubuntu 24

Hi -- I'm getting quite a few page crashes that seem mostly tied to YouTube, although not exclusively. I only recently swapped over to Firefox from Chrome because I was having similar crashing issues with that browser as well. This is after a fresh install of Windows 11 Pro and a number of different benchmark tests (no known issues with CPU, GPU, or RAM).

Since there are so many reports that all seem different, could someone help troubleshoot? I really can't tell if it's a browser problem, maybe something with my MOBO or PSU or other hardware.

Recently, whenever i have to quit firefox, my tabs have all disappeared upon opening. I have tried all the suggestions in the Mozilla help and nothing seems to work. This used to happen from time to time which was frustrating but now it happens every time I need to quit firefox. "Recently closed tabs" and "recently closed windows" are greyed out when I try to use that. and there is nothing in "restore previous history". Thank you for your help.

Reader view doesn't work on many Lifehacker pages/articles. Can something be done to make it work on those pages? Here's an example:

Hi there! I find the new sidebar (on the left for me) a great addition but is there a way to reverse the "top to bottom" tabs displaying order?

Not a way to move tabs, but a setting allowing, when opening a new tab (Ctrl+t), to place (and display) the icon on top of the tabs icons pile, not at the bottom.

I get that it's the opposite of the normal reading direction, but it's rather unnatural to go looking at the bottom of the screen for recently opened tabs, IMHO.

Thanks in advance if you can address this, or show me where I can find such setting.

Something very bad happened to me today (11/3)....

Firefox 144.0.2 was installed on 10/30/25, and everything has been fine until today. I don't know why or how, but ALL of my OPEN tabs (of which I have many--and have it fixed so they always re-open when Firefox starts), ALL went away.

In reading conventional steps to recover such from sessionstore-backups, those instructions sounded straightforward. However, even though ALL FIREFOX PROCESSES were ended, I could not copy the contents of the sessionstore-backups folder nor could I delete anything--EVEN THOUGH I am the owner.

Even after providing Admin perms.

I could get rid of profiles.ini, which initially proved diasterous, because then Firefox thought I was brand new, so ALL of my passwords saved through Firefox these many years, went "poof".

Fortunately, I was able to get that back, but I still cannot get all of my tabs back, and conventional instructions to do so aren't working.

After recovering from my heart attack for initially losing my passwords, I am breathing a little better right now, but it sure would be nice to get all of my open tabs back again. I don't know why I am not able to manipulate the files within sessionstore-backups. I think if I could eliminate the files in that folder EXCEPT for upgrade.jsonlz4-20251027123126, which possesses a 10/29/25 date, these should be the open tabs just before the 144.0.2 installation, and all should be right with the world, once more.

I have performed/examined many steps offered under this category, but most assume I can copy them elsewhere for safe-keeping and/or removing all but the one I want Firefox to "use". Because something is preventing me from doing this, though, I am being stymied in what ought to be the solution. As a test, I was able to copy files from a much older profile--so I can prove the basic steps SHOULD HAVE worked. Unfortunately, I cannot do the same with THE (more recent) folder in question. I can't get rid of parent.lock, either (and I have ensured no Firefox processes are running via Task Manager).

Repeatedly.

Something else is at work, here. Any help or assistance from community experts would be most helpful.

Je choisis de me connecter avec un mot de passe et après avoir validé le mot de passe, j'arrive sur une page qui me dit d'utiliser un autre appareil ou une autre méthode de connexion. Je joins les fenêtres de connexion étape par étape Avec Google Chrome (que je ne veux pas utiliser), je me connecte sans problème à ma boite mail avec les même étapes décrites ci-dessus. Hi a few weeks ago i had the problem that my firefox-stored-passwords are gone and there are files named logins.json.corrupt and logins.json-1.corrupt to -4 The in dir backup was also corrupt. File length 122 -123 kb all nulls. If i look at the dates first to last, they span two weeks were i didnt notice the problem. PC is always hibernated after work. Except for one which i imported just before from edge at the end of the two week span No problem: logins replaced by external backup as i found here at the forum.

But: How can Firefox produce multiple corrupt files without noticing me? (I have saved them for reference) In that two weeks span logins using firefox passwords obviously worked. (I dont remember the details)

Then some updates and reboots. No problem. But after work i do always hibernation

TODAY: PC didnt survive hibernation. logins and in-dir backup are corrupt again.

What about a) checking better if something is going wrong (obiously you do something because you rename the files for some reason) b) Noticing the user c) And how on earth this can go wrong in the first place.

Now for the obscure: Both times somebody has just before posted something against the greatest President of all time at Fux Nus using this pc. Backdoor possible?

Since the last update, the firefox taskbar icon is showing a strange shopping card icon? How can I remove it? I am not shopping with Firefox, I am using it as my web browser.

I get a daily email from this site and suddenly nothing. I try to resolve the issue and your security settings are unintelligible. I have received emails on a daily basis for over 2 years, and now nothing.

This is unbelievably frustrating.

I installed Firefox yesterday, and everything was fine for a day. Today, when I play a YouTube video, the entire page freezes - I can't pause it, select text, or do anything. The page starts responding after about 10 seconds from last interaction.

Compared to Chrome, I can play 20 YouTube videos at once and everything works fine.

The problem only occurs on YouTube. Sites like CDA and Jellyfin work fine.

Sys: Latest Windows 11 I5-10400F Intel Arc B580 RAM 32GB 2133 MT/s

After having upgraded my W11 system to 25H2, I cannot install any extension. Installation terminates with "... something may be broken". I'm using FF 144.0,2. FF is used in more than one account alternatively.

On a second system, with less security measures, I have no problems.
