An answer from legit source (longtime moderator or developer) is welcome. I'm sorry if this has been asked before. I couldn't find it and I'd like to make my point.

I didn't like the design of Firefox when they first started this design with so much space wasted for tabs and toolbar. Every time I open Firefox it feels odd with gigantic empty spaces if I come from Chrome/Vivaldi which are thoughtfully compact.

I have 14" laptop and Firefox makes the UX very less intuitive.

As of now, I'm using the workaround for compact mode that was posted in this forum numerous times. It says (not supported) beside compact mode which makes me feel like that this feature is going to be removed completely in the future. That's the tipping point where I will stop using Firefox completely.

I'm seeking help because sound is not working on Firefox. All other software are able to produce sound on every speaker and headphones I have. The speaker logo does not appear in tabs were videos or music is playing and firefox doesn't show up in EarTrumpet. It does show in the volume mixer but no bar appears to show it is displaying sound while media is playing.

I'm running : Firefox version 119.0 64 bits Windows 10 64 bits version 22h2, OS build 19045.3570

I've tried :

1. Restarting Firefox
2. Muting/Unmuting Firefox in the volume mixer, in firefox tabs too
3. Downgrading to version 118.02 32 bits
4. Uninstalling all my audio drivers followed by a restart (they got re installed but no change for Firefox)
5. Restarting Firefox with all addons disabled

I'm running out of solutions.

The Firefox icon on my taskbar has a great big green number 1 plonked on it. It doesn't seem to relate to the number of windows I have open or the processes running. It's there even when Firefox is closed. I thought it might be messages but I can't find those either. Its driving me nuts can you please tell me how to get rid of it? I'm running it in Ubuntu on a laptop.

I'm using firefox 119.0.1 Version on a Steam deck(SteamOS) and installed using the Discover app

when in browser i cannot click on the "Open the file browser" icon that appears on websites. Also i cannot open the Downloads folder within the Menu bar from firefox I tried entering into safe-mode and still couldn't open I also tried using another User Profile under "Right click Firefox -> firefox profile manager" to try to see if it was something from my user profile that was causing the issue but i also couldnt open in another profile.

I also tried on a different browser to see if it was my device problem but i could open it. i tried on Brave and Chrome and it worked.

i dont know what to do, this was working normally last week and now it doesnt work, Even in another profile with no configuration done no extension and not logged in the "Open file" button doesnt work

I want to print a page. But without the header and footer stuff (because it is ugly and I don't want others to see the information). There are a lot of old pages here and on other places about how to do this. They are unfortunately all deprecated. What is the way to do this as of 2023? OS is Windows, btw.

I was having trouble with Firefox freezing and needed to close it with Task Manager and reopen it whenever this happened. On one of these restarts, only a few of my windows opened up with the new session. All of the other open windows vanished. They're not in my history or my recently closed windows at all. There are three specific windows of the lost windows that had data I was actively using and don't want to lose. The URLs would be enough. I was also using the other windows, but I can re-find that information easily enough.

I found that Firefox can automatically generate a QR code for each URL, which is a powerful and useful feature! I'd like to know if this QR code has an expiration date.

I cannot figure out how to export my bookmarks from Mozilla Account. On the desktop browser when I open "Manage Bookmarks" and select Phil's Bookmarks, I am able to export the bookmarks from the Mozilla account.

The resulting html export file does not contain the bookmarks from Mozilla Account. There also does not seem to be a way to export those bookmarks from your online Mozilla Account interface.

How do I export the bookmarks from my Mozilla Account?

I'm a Reddit user and until today I used to login just fine. Now I get the error message "Incorrect username or password" when I try to login in Mozilla Firefox (version 119.0.1 (64-bit)). If I use Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge I log in with no problem.

When switched to mobile hot spot from wifi [and viceversa] Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can. I am facing this issue recently like from a month or so. Before that all working fine. I have already tried the troubleshooting steps from here https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-load-websites-other-browsers-can, Still no luck! Edition Windows 11 Home Single Language Version 22H2 OS build 22621.2506

Note:Whenever i switch to mobile hot spot i have to restart laptop to make Firefox work.

Is there any permanent solution for this problem?

Quick background: I live in the US. I wiped my computer while traveling in the Netherlands. I installed Firefox while in the Netherlands. I quickly noticed that the default language was Dutch. No biggie, I looked around and "managed language" to English in the Firefox settings.

The problem is that Firefox is still stuck on Dutch mode. Even the spell checker is stuck. Internal messaging is stuck (e.g. the messages on the bottom of the page while loading a site). I just went to DuckDuckGo and it defaulted the page to Dutch.

I understand that I could reinstall Firefox while I am at home (US). But I think this is a bug. The browser should be able to switch languages in the settings, etc.

Let me know if I am doing it wrong.

Outlook recently made Edge or Chrome the default browser, with no possibility (as far as I can see) of choosing Firefox. In Outlook FILE/OPTIONS/ADVANCED, it seem impossible to choose Firefox.

How can I make Firefox the default browser. This situation occurred after recent update (October 2023).

Hello :) Since one of the 2022 Firefox updates, I am constantly experiencing font rendering issues when the hardware acceleration is enabled. It occurs after a while of browsing on all websites, regardless of font family. See the attached screenshots.

Windows 11 Pro (upgraded from 10 where the problem also occured), GeForce GTX 1070Ti, 2x 4k monitor.

I reinstalled nVidia drivers from scratch, cleared the Firefox data, even experimented a bit with Direct2D settings in about:config; disabling the extensions (ABP, Simple Tab Groups) does not help either. The problem disappears completely when the hardware acceleration is off, but obviously I would like to have it on (for Google Maps, Twitch, hi-res videos, etc.)

I've always loved Firefox and still do. How do I make it love me back? ((-;

Hello, On 18th Oct this year, blogger would not let me upload picture files from my computer - it gives the message 'Allow google.com to use cookies - you will not be able to access your files if necessary cookies are turned off'. I click Accept but nothing happens, so I click close and the window goes away without solving the problem. Uploading and publishing blogs with images was working with no problem two days earlier. I was still logged into my gmail account and had not made any changes. This is what I have tried. 1 - Switched off enhanced tracking protection for this site, as suggested by Firefox. It allowed me to upload 1 image into a draft post but this had disappeared the next time I opened the draft. Since then I have been getting the error message and not been able to upload images. 2 - cleared the cookies from google, as suggested by firefox. No effect 3 - cleared the cache and site data as suggested. No effect. I followed this with closing Firefox and reloading, logging back in to gmail, and still the problem persists. I tried to watch a youtube livestream today and it failed to play. Non-live videos on youtube are playing, even the same videos watched as VODs after the stream ends, but the livestreams are providing "Your browser can't play this video" errors.

Simultaneously, I'm noticing that some videos on Reddit (such as embedded tiktok videos) are stuck with a circling ring and won't play. At least some of the same videos will play on Tiktok (when I can find them).

ALSO, when I try to watch videos on my Nebula subscription, I'm getting a "This video could not be loaded: 4" error code. ANY video on Nebula.

What the heck gives?!

Today I opened Firefox and the tabs were like this. I didn't touch any options in userChrome.css or about:config in months, so I have no idea why it happened (maybe a shortcut or the last update changed something?). How do I go back to a normal height? Thank you kindly for your responses
