Hi, Windows 11, 32GB memory. Firefox crashes regularly when between 1.6 and 1.9 GB is consumed It happens when watching YouTube. What is the solution, please? Thank you.

I have been getting this error for about a week - absolutelyu no changes have been made to my usual use of the PC and browser. There may have been Firefox/Windows updates installed. I'm not doing anything different to the usual work I do.

I have tried using a new Firefox profile with no cached info carried over, this doesn't solve the problem. I have no extensions or add ons. I do run Avast, but haven't had this problem before.

NB: I do not usually get the opportunity to submit a crash report when these crashes happen.

I always use the middle mouse button (pressing the scroll wheel) to open and close new tabs, but since the update, it doesn't work anymore and now types "=" if the cursor is in a text field. For context, I use an MX Master S3, mapped with Logi Options+.

Anyone else having this issue? How do I roll back to the previous version??

SOLVED: It was a bug with Logi Options+, not Firefox. When I hovered over the tab for the presets I had for CaptureOne, I noticed it also said Firefox. So seems something weird happened there. Deleted that preset and the issue in Firefox went away.

I couldn't find a way to delete this thread, though.

A bit over a month ago, I was away from home for several weeks. When I came back, a browser that worked perfectly before became near unusable with constant and random crashes. Sometimes they occur even with no user input. I have tried troubleshooting mode, I have removed all extensions, I have tried all the fixes I found on Google, I have reinstalled the browser, I have updated all the drivers, I have done MemTest86 which was passed with flying colours and I have even installed a firefox fork (waterfox) to try and fix this all to no avail. I have no clue where to go from here, as it feels very bizarre. All help is much appreciated.

Firefox keeps crashing and I get a message saying it is still running but won't work. Error code below. This has been happening for 4 weeks or so. Can anyone help? I've always liked Firefox but this is beginning to cause problems. I run W11 on a Dell laptop and always keep Firefox updated. Thanks very much for any help. Hugh, UK

When I close a video site tab, Firefox freezes and becomes unresponsive. After restarting Firefox from a force quit, I sometimes see a message like: “Bookmarks may not be visible or things may not look normal. Please, I really need help with this issue. If I back up my cookies beforehand, would restoring them after such a crash bring everything back to normal?

Hi everyone, I've been experiencing a persistent issue where my Firefox (Windows 10) randomly crashes or closes. I recently noticed that this always happens when a JSON file appears in the following directory: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\distribution The strange thing is that this file shouldn't even be there, as this is my personal computer and it is not managed by any organization. I have already tried deleting or renaming the file, but after a seemingly random period, it gets recreated automatically. Here’s what I have tried so far, without success: - Deleting/renaming the file - Checking the registry at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox (but the "Mozilla" folder does not exist there) - I have never used any third-party antivirus software (only Windows Defender) Does anyone have an idea where this file might be coming from or how I can prevent it from being recreated? Over the past few weeks, tabs keep crashing several times a day. It happens most often on X, but this morning, a tab crashed while completing an online order (grrr). My computer is up to date, cookies, cache and history cleared regularly and today I "refreshed" Firefox. In less than an hour, tab crashed again. What is going on???

I'm very close to changing browsers.

Started a couple days ago

Youtube works fine for everything, except when i try to watch a video, the rectangle where the video is supposed to be appears black during loading (normal) but then vanish.

checking the console i get a huge error that's just unreadable for me

it doesn't happen on edge, or in private navigation

turning every addon off doesn't fix the issue, and it does it even in "troubleshoot mode"

i haven't "refreshed" because i don't know what kind of data will be lost when i do that

for years now I have had this issue when browsing. It is so annoying. I have tried all the suggested troubleshooting. I deleted all extensions. This helped for a while, but not for long. Now it's so tedious to browse that I am thinking of getting rid of Firefox. It has just become unusable and no one can seem to fix it. I am using Windows 10 and no extensions. It often happens when I first open a page and while the page is being pulled up.
