have a new Acer Aspire laptop on Windows 8.1, running the latest Firefox as default browser. On trying to open Al Jazeera in Firefox I get a window that says I need to download Adobe Flash Player, screenshot 2. I click on that and get the Adobe download page, screenshot 3. I click on install now and get the prompt to save install_flashplayer, screenshot 4. I click on save file and then go to my downloads folder and it has the installer icon there, screenshot 5. However when I then double click on it nothing more happens. A window headed Adobe Flash Player Installer with no content appears, screenshot 1. And nothing more happens. However if I try and download Adobe Flash Player in Internet Explorer I get a message that it is integrated with Internet Explorer in Windows 8, screenshot 6. Please advise.

Playing a particular mp4 audio file directly from a website link gives error message "Video can't be played because the file is corrupt". However other mp4 audio files from this same website do work correctly. What can I do to get all the the mp4 audio files to play directly from the same website? I must have the correct plugins, etc. since the other files play. This file is not playing from YouTube, is it on the website. Thank you for your help.

I have been using Firefox for years. Suddenly today I can no longer access Pay Pal via any site (Ebay, Vitacost, etc) to make online payments through PayPal. I loaded in Google Chrome and I CAN access Pay Pal so it appears to be a Firefox issue. The 'warn me when websites try to redirect' in UN-checked, so this is not the issue from what I can see. There seems to be some redirect issue. I tried going directly to www.paypal.com and received the same message (see below). Firefox is preventing a redirect to PayPal. Please advise and provide detailed steps to correcting this issue. Thanks. :-)

This is the message I am receiving: Internal Server Error The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request. Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@paypal.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error. More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

I currently use Google as my search engine, and every time I use it I get a rash of unwanted advertising crap at the head (top) of the search results. I know I can update my "interests" preferences in Google to "target" the ads, but I want to get rid of these pesky nuisances altogether.

Anyone got any suggestions apart from moving to a different search engine?

thanks

After installing some software, the URL "http://hi.ru/?10" keeps opening in a new tab every time I launch Firefox. It also took over my homepage in Chrome and IE, but it was easy to fix those. For some reason though, it keeps ignoring the homepage I changed it to in my Firefox settings. It just keeps bringing up this stupid Russian Web site. I've tried looking for it in about:config but don't see anything there. I've looked for Add-Ons, but nothing there. No toolbars that could be doing it also.

It does seem similar to the problem addressed in this article, but I'm using Windows 8.1, so it's not a simple shortcut that I can edit. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/wrong-home-page-opens-when-i-start-firefox-how-fix?esab=a&as=aaq

Please help! Arggghh!

Thanks Cary

Please note the screen capture.

The first image shows how this website screen I use all the time appears on Firefox. Then next to that is how it is suppose to appear as it appears on IE11. Some kind of plug in is required, but I can't figure out which one is needed to fix this problem.

I've checked Java which is properly installed and flash player is also installed. When I look at this screen through IE11, I see the missing animated image, but when I look at it through firefox, I get a blank area with the message you see displayed saying "A plugi is needed to display this content". This is happening in many other areas as well when I use Firefox. I've tried reinstalling firefox and it still comes up with this issue. I'm frustrated and out of ideas on what to do to get this working correctly.

Please help!

Firefox won't let me access a website because "The connection is not secure". I don't care that it isn't secure, I need to download something from there and Firefox, IE, and Opera are the only browsers supported. I tried IE, and will not go out of my way to download Opera. The link is blocked from my view as you can see in the image. I'm not sure why this is happening but it's pissing me off to no end. If you could help, that would be just super.

Since the latest overhaul of Firefox (which is great overall) I'm having problems on both OSX and Win 8.1 with the handling of Google's multiple accounts authentication.

If I log out of one account (say, my work account) and then try to log into another (say, my personal account -- choosing it from the 'choose an account' screen) it then logs me into the work account no matter how many times I log out of the work account and try to log into a different account. It's like it's not clearing the previous session properly or something. This is with 29 and now 29.0.1.

On my mac I tried clearing cache, and deleting the cookies.sqlite all to no avail.

Thanks for any help. Other browsers are working fine.

Bring me back my old firefox UI. I hate firefox 29. It doesn't help me do things quicker and the those bl**dy curvy tabs! Try that with 20+ tabs open...

Please, please revert this retro step in your next version. There's nothing that I'd call an improvement. And a leaky bandaid in the form of an addon is waste of good intentions.

Currently on an HP laptop, Win8, printing to a HP Color Laser, no previous problems; all of a sudden, PDF's are printing blank pages. I can see the page fine. Safe mode without any addons has no change. I printed my taxes out and had no problems.

I've used IE (shudder) an been able to print PDF's fine. I have no PDF software itself on the computer, just using the browsers native support. EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. Searching shows problems loading PDF's, but my problem is printing PDF's. Using version 29 of Firefox. Anyone got any tips or clues how to hunt this down? Really close to introducing my computer to Mr. sledgehammer.
