So the new tab bar has been dissolved together into a mush of text, there is no definition between the tabs and the background.

My eyesight isn't great and the new update has made Firefox very difficult to use. Please bring back the tab defining features and the contrast between the tabs and the background. 'Modern' doesn't always mean better!

It would also be nice if you would respect the general Windows settings that make these components visible. Discontinuity between different apps makes it very difficult to navigate the browser.

As the title suggests, sometimes when I launch a site marked for a container, it will open a new tab and show the URL but not load the page. Refreshing doesn't fix it, and I have to copy/paste the URL into a new container tab. This only happens when opening from a shortcut, not from history search or typing the URL. It seems to be happening across all containers I have. I'm using Windows 10 and the latest Firefox. Any help appreciated!

With the new "tab line", all the tab-line looks the same across multiple Firefox windows: they have the same background color, and the only difference is that those "inactive windows" shall have tab-names in a slightly fainted color.

Attached is a screenshot with a "custom theme", as configured here: https://color.firefox.com/?theme=XQAAAAIWAQAAAAAAAABBKYhm849SCia2CaaEGccwS-xMDPsqufDOWr6IhCp9RnjnsdP9GNu2SjSQBIXJelHlUb_p3iV0Tk_tp5WixtO7xQnun54TM0zzonAd6w0T64epRIX-MPh_WdfDW_w-yhADmUgnb68gPKrs8qenrbJlNLa8ExfeSsKaaHfQ-9sW8GyKyObiSlDh9ijHuiE5lJEM3vAAjTa46EQ7ytUeVh0LL3__uhviAA

Please advise if I am missing something super simple to configure: basically, I'd like to apply a different background color when the Firefox window is inactive. (The Solarized dark theme does part of the job, by leaving an noticeable boarder when the Firefox window is not maximized.)

It also helps if I can completely disable this new "theme" feature and restore to the the old way that these "tab-lines" are rendered.

Thanks a lot!

For the 5th time now an update has moved my tabs to the top. And congrats guys, this latest update deleted all my bookmarks and my logins. If this version is to win back "defectors" I really doubt you will. You're getting worse rather than better. So anyway, I have read many solutions on the forums and none have worked. Can someone please send me the code I need to put into userchrome.css that will get my tabs back below the address bar. And if you want to get more users, why not add an option in the menu for tab placement?!? How many browsers require the users to know code for something as simple as that? Or maybe the other browsers don't allow for tabs below. If that's the case I suppose I should be grateful. lol. Thanks either way.

Hi,

Just got version 89.0 installed. And I totally don't like what happened to the tabs. They are visually disconnected from the page they belong to and transformed to some kind of buttons (at least when selected. When not slected only the caption is visible) . I cannot even imagine why such a useless change is done, but in terms of UI design this is not a good step. It makes things less clear.

I would like to have to old tabs back, but cannot find a theme which can do this.

Is there a setting with which I can set to old tabstyle back?

Thnx

This has been happening for the last several Firefox updates, and it's an incredibly frustrating issue that makes me not want to ever exit the browser or update it. I'm not sure when or why exactly it started happening, but I believe it was after an update at least 3+ months ago.

For some reason, when the browser opens from having been closed due to restart or update etc, and it restores my prior browsing session - it only ever restores 3 pinned tab as pinned. For some reason, it's always specifically just 3 tabs, and it's usually whatever the first 3 pinned tabs were. I always have at least 10 pinned tabs open due to the nature of my job. The tabs that are no longer pinned are restored in what looks like a random order, mixed in with my other tabs. Also, other tabs that weren't pinned, are restored out of order. This makes it difficult to find a tab and get it back to the order it should be in.

I always just have a single window open. There are many tabs open as I work with a lot of cloud software at the same time.

i have tried starting a whole new session from scratch, even uninstalling and reinstalling the browser. Doesn't seem to help, the issue returns on every launch. This looks like a bug to me, but I didn't find anything on it.

Automatic Update Lost 100+ Tabs Can't Find recovery files

I've followed the advice in all the threads I can find from the last three years about how to handle a situation where you cannot use "restore previous session" in history.

As of approximately 7am this morning my computer was fine, I closed the lid (to let it sleep) while I was at work etc, but found that my laptop had restarted when I went to wake it up tonight around 8pm. It appears as though at 7:47 there was a crash of some sort.

It doesn't look like a "sessionstore.jsonlz4 " was created, and when I try to see previous versions of literally anything in "(c:) > users > [my info] > app data > roaming > Mozilla > Firefox > Profiles" ALL are without one despite the folder properties showing a "created" date that fits with when I created a firefox account two -ish years ago.

Every folder in the second profile (which shows that it was created today) is empty.

Has anyone else heard of an update overwriting all history like this? I had a, frankly, problematic number of tabs open (across three windows, each with a different general theme, ie general stuff in window a, weird hobby in window b, and A Lot of tabs for a personal project that I mostly didn't have bookmarked in window C), and have never had anything remotely like this happen before.

Is this a hopeless cause? What can I do to prevent this from happening again?????

Any advice would be appreciated. The tabs lost in my "personal project research" window represent about six months of weekends worth of effort and I'm so upset about it that I can barely articulate how stupid I feel for having passively allowed this to happen because I was tired last night when I got home from work and ignored the "update" prompt in the top right corner (normally I make sure to save my session and update, but I thought "eh, I'll do it tomorrow when I get home from work").
