More and more I'm having to go to other browsers like Chrome or Edge to open certain websites as they do not work through the Firefox browser. Why is this and how can i get them to work before i change browsers permanently?

I always use private browsing so I thought that my history was totally not being saved, but discovered recently that when I started to type within the search field, that many of my past searches were listed in the search field with the type highlighted in purple. I had to manually go in and delete all of these past searches. I don't want any search history to be saved. Is there a setting in preferences that I'm somehow missing? Why is Firefox saving these past searches if I have it set to Always Use Private Browsing?

When I click on a "mailto" link, Firefox (my default browser) opens a new tab, then immediately close that tab without waiting for my to interact with it. No draft email is created. I see that other users have reported this behavior in the past, and I've tried the suggested remedies without success. Specifically, I ran Malwarebytes, and it found no threats. I then started Firefox (on the Mac) via the Option key (to start it without ad-ons), and that does not change the behavior. I'm on ver 99.0.1 of FF, which is up to date as of 4/20/2022 (today). My Mac OS is also up to date (ver 12.3.1). My Mac is a 2021 MacBookPro with the Apple M1 Pro chip. I use gmail. OTHER BROWSER (like Safari and Chrome) can open "mailto" links in a new tab in FF (which is my default browser, and used for mailto links) just fine! My google drive keeps disconnecting, and google drive/google docs links are not working. I have attached a screenshot of the new tab page when I copy paste a google sheets document URL into the search bar and hit enter. After the reloading icon animates, I stay on the new tab page and the url just sits there. The debug console shows 1 GET request that is timed out (picture also attached).

I can fix the issue by completely closing all firefox windows and opening again, but it will disconnect me after some minutes.

Firefox recently stopped playing embedded youtube videos on my phpBB forum site?

i keep the latest firefox and only recently showed up embedded videos play fine on Chrome and others

ADDITIONAL COMMENT: why don't you include a date on these posting? a lot of wasted time on old posts? and also need a 'Preview' on these before posting?

Whenever I use the searchbar in the bookmarks manager, it always searches all of my bookmarks, but sometimes I might only want to search for that query within a specific folder. Is there any way to limit a bookmarks search to only a specific folder rather than the entirety of my bookmarks?

I cannot play CNN videos in Firefox. They will not start. I can play them in Microsoft Edge and on my iPhone. I can play other videos in Firefox from, say, YouTube. It's just CNN that seems to be the problem. I have a Windows 10 PC.

I have fedora 36 Linux on my laptop and I have installed Firefox from the software store. The version in Help>About>About Firefox shows 99.0.1 (64-bit).

I am able to play videos on Youtube but no video or GIF is playing on Twitter/Reddit/Facebook.

My autoplay setting look like as per the attached image. I do not have any extensions except Bitwarden on Firefox.

I also tried playing videos on Firefox 100 by downloading it directly from firefox website but faced the same issue.

I've always used the "Always ask you where to save files" option when downloading. Recently (beginning of April 2022), files go directly to the Downloads folder. The "Always ask" option is still selected in Settings.

I've tried un-selecting and re-selecting, restarting Firefox, restarting my computer - basically every iteration of 'turn it off and on again' that I can think of.

MacOS Monterey 12.3.1 FF 99.0.1 Have tried clearing Cache, Cookies, Troubleshoot mode.

Google Maps > Search > Share > Embed a Map, the map to be embedded is not displayed (likewise when embed is pasted into Wordpress page, for example)

While same procedure in Safari or Brave works as expected (map to be embedded is displayed in Google maps and embed code displays map in webpage using Brave or Safari).

From the Google Maps page > share > Embed a map > right click This Frame > Open in new tab And then looking in the Console. There are a few other ignored errors but then this...

Not sure when it began, probably before the current version, i.e. it's not related to the latest update. When exiting, everything seems fine at first but then Crash Reporter pops up. If I try to restart my Windows/PC with FF open, the restarting becomes blocked by Firefox, so I have to cancel the restart and deal with Crash Reporter first.

The same crash happens in Troubleshoot Mode.

I don't have any special security software (aside from Malwarebytes with real-time protection disabled).

Hi! Since yesterday, in Outlook, my font size became very tiny for subjects and categories. I can barely see it. Can you please restore them to normal sizes?? I am desperate trying to read them. Thank you! Shirley Savva

Each time Firefox updates, the email client changes to the outlook default. The last 2-3 updates, mailto does not appear on the file,settings,applications menu. Nor will it populate if I type it in. I have tried every instruction to no avail. I am a long-time firefox user, non-techie and it is discouraging when things disappear with each update lately. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

I've removed all address bar suggestions except bookmarks and yet I'm still seeing the "This time, search with" bar.

Hi I have been a user of Firefox for many a year, and this is the first tme I've come across an intrusive problem. Since updating to the latest version, I find I can no longer change the icon on a URL shortcut. I had quite a few of them, which helped distinguish (obviously) what I might want to select. That was then. Now, I have a load of indistinguishable Fireox logos which make finding the shortcut I want imossible. On going to change the icons, I find the Website Document tab in properties is no longer there .. while I have Firfox installed. Remove Firefox and the capability magically returns. I have re-installed Firefox in case of corruption, with no change. Before I remove Firefox permanently (which I'd be loathe to do), does anyone know the cause ... or solution or workaround?

Until recently, I resisted allowing updates for Firefox because of the announcements of changes to prevent access to some technical kinds of website which I use. These include the public websites of the Paris Observatory which include useul informational ftp pages with important text, data and software files.

  I did recently allow a Firefox update, and now I find that I am cut off from access to these ftp pages. 
  How can I re-enable access to ftp? If it can't be done in the new version of Firefox, how can I return to an older Firefox version that does allow such access?
