Windows 10 gesture two finger swipe left and two finger swipe right doesn't work in Firefox. Two finger swipe left allows user to go history backward and two finger swipe right allows user to go history forward. These gestures work in Firefox if the user hold Alt key and preform the gestures. But most of the users don't like to hold Alt key and preform the gestures. Please fix that issue.

I tried to visit a website on a private network.

Firefox threw up a security warning about how the web page uses TLSv1.0.

I clicked on the "Enable TLS v1.0" button because I wanted to temporarily view the web page, so that I can look at the TLS certificate to debug an unrelated issue about the cert chain on this site.

Now I want to go back to the default settings, where Firefox blocks TLSv1.0.

How do I do that?

In about:config I looked at security.tls.version.min but it's still on the original value of 3. Yet Firefox is still letting me view that particular page over TLSv1.0 without the security warning.

I use a laptop with both an integrated graphics card and a dedicated graphics card (GTX 1060 Max-Q). Recently after reinstalling Windows, I found that Firefox refuses to use my dedicated graphics card. What's stranger about this is that when testing Chrome and Edge, Chrome has the same problem, but Edge seems to detect and use it the dedicated card just fine.

I used both https://alteredqualia.com/tmp/webgl-maxparams-test/ to test this, as well as monitoring GPU usage with GPU-Z to confirm that this was the case. I'm also using Firefox 80.0 at the time of this issue.

Is there something that could be preventing Firefox from accessing the GPU or something?

It happens often: I am typing into a text input form on a website, and the pop-up (see attachment) appears for no apparent reason. In other words, I did not deliberately try to abandon my text entries, but for some reason the browser believes I have. Perhaps this is down to the overuse of shortcuts and touchpad "gestures" in my Macbook? I don't know why it happens, but it does. My question only concerns what happens AFTER the pop-up appears.

The pop-up has two buttons: "Stay on page", and the DEFAULT "Leave Page".

I have lost hours of work (text entry) because the DEFAULT is to "Leave Page". Again, this may be "physically" due to the twitchy Apple products I use, but it could be avoided if the DEFAULT were set to "Stay on page".

That is my first question: How do I change the DEFAULT to "Stay on page"?

I am told that this pop-up is the product of JavaScript running in my browser. That's all well and good, but it's not clear to me whose script this is.

My second question: What is the SOURCE of the JavaScript producing the pop-up; i.e. is this sourced by Mozilla, or is it sourced by the website creators?

Since a sudden power outage, when I use firefox maximized (not f11) there's a white border around 3 of the 4 edges - not including the top. It's about 2mm thick, and only goes away if I press f11.

I've tried uninstalling, cleaning out all the old files and reinstalling firefox; I've tried disabling and re-enabling add-ons; I've tried changing my screen resolution to something else and switching back. All to no effect.

This has never happened before, and my monitor is at 100% resolution. Can anyone suggest what else I could try?

Hi Friends,

I have read the other posts on this questions.

I have a very unique use case. My grandfather is 101 and still going strong. He loves his computer and regularly has in-depth questions that he calls me with.

The firefox (latest version) updates are causing him serious problems though. It seems like they are very regular - I know this is good, but in this case, being 101, I just want him to be able to use his computer without being bothered with the updates. I am aware of the different options, but unfortunately there is not a "turn off" option (why!). I did read something about modifying a .json file though. On a side note, I'm a computer guy and have been involved with IT for over 30 years. The firefox updates are a "bother" for other people I work with as well.

Does somebody have the code they can share to turn off these updates? When this stupid covid is over I will be seeing him regularly and will perform the updates myself.

Thank you.

Hello, I have 3 websites:

http://history.typeheritage.com/ http://forums.typeheritage.com/ http://bazaar.typeheritage.com/

When viewed with Chrome, all are labeled "secure." When viewed with FF, the history and forums sites are not. Instead, they return the attached message.

Unless original work designed by me, all images on all sites are type specimens or trade journal articles from sources like design patents or university libraries (google books, haithi trust, internet archive, etc.).

Can someone figure out why this is happening and tell me how to fix it?

A thousand thanks for your help, Anna

I am using Firefox on an old Ubuntu machine, and found myself unable to disable the auto update feature of Firefox. I understand why Firefox wants to do auto update, but for me personally it's negatively impacting my productivity. Many times I was looking up reference materials only to be told that I need to restart Firefox because it just updated itself. Imagine how frustrating it is, especially when I use the Private Browsing mode a lot to avoid having to clean up browsing history and cached files later. All in all, while the auto update feature might be good for some users, it's just not working for me, so I want it to be disabled.

I tried a couple of things. First, there's nothing in the "Preferences" page related to the auto update. Second, I tried to change the value of "app.update.auto" in the "about:config" page to false, and it still does auto update. Finally, I tried to add a "policies.json" file to "/etc/firefox/", with the following content:

{ "policies":

  {
    "AppAutoUpdate": false,
    "DisableAppUpdate": true,
    "DisableTelemetry": true
   }

}

Yet it still does auto updates. As a matter of fact, it updated itself to version 80 just now. This driving me crazy. Any useful suggestions will be sincerely appreciated.

I have one Firefox account with all my work bookmarks and another account with my personal ones. I would like to login to my work device with the latter account, but am afraid to hit OK at the prompt warning this:

"A different user was previously signed in to Sync on this computer. Signing in will merge this browser’s bookmarks, passwords and other settings with <personal account>".

I am trying to find a way to login and see only my personal bookmarks when I sign in with the personal account. I have disabled Sync for the work account and installed the Multi-Account Containers add-in, but it does not appear that either option will support this workflow. Am I doing something wrong or is there no way to keep things entirely separated? It looks like the add-in keeps my browsing data separate, but I just want to see separate sets of bookmarks when using the corresponding account.

Thanks in advance!
