Hello. I've been struggling to figure out how to get the address bar and tabs to hide when in fullscreen mode on my Mac. At first, I thought this was just the default setting, but after browsing other Community posts and discussions on Reddit and such, I began to suspect those are supposed to hide by default, but are not in my case.

Please see the photo attached for what I mean—the tabs and address bar never go away, if they are supposed to, regardless of whether I have a new tab or a webpage open.

I tried Firefox with all my add-ons turned off, because some posts suggested they can prevent auto-hiding. I have looked for CSS solutions and extensions which could help, but I am utterly frustrated. Please help!

Thanks in advance.

Hi There, Just today whenever I try and load Reddit it begins loading the webpage, and I can see briefly the page that should be there just before the tab becomes completely blank and not allowing me to view any pages on Reddit (see picture linked). I have tried refreshing, clearing all cookies, but the page still does the same thing and ends up a completely white blank page. I have tried searching for Reddit and loading it on Microsoft Edge, and it works fine. I have ublock origin, Ghostery and Enhancer for YouTube. I have disabled all to see if they are interfering with the loading of the page. Yet it still does not load.

Since the update to version 66, my themes won't stay enabled, no matter which one I choose. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the themes, (restarting firefox in between), redownloading and installing firefox itself...all to no avail. It reverts to the default theme when it finishes loading, no matter what I do. I can re-enable it manually...and, here's the odd part, it shows while firefox is loading! Anytime firefox is started, this happens, and it doesn't seem to matter what them I select. When I close firefox, it disables itself.

We use Chrome and IE, Edge and have no issues with the SSL certificate and it shows green and valid. When we use the Firefox browser it thinks the certificate is invalid when it is not.

Expected behaviour of browser.download.panel.shown set to true in about:config: "When a download or multiple downloads are taking place, Firefox will not show the pop-out panel detailing the progress of each file transfer unless you proactively click on the Downloads button in the browser's toolbar. However, if you set the value of this preference to true that panel will automatically appear, overlaying a portion of your main browser window, as soon as a download begins."

Setting browser.download.panel.shown to true doesn't work as described. The download panel stays closed when the download begins. Setting browser.download.panel.shown to false automatically opens the download panel on the next download. But for all following downloads it will not open anymore. And oddly enough browser.download.panel.shown is automatically set to true after that.

When using Firefox 66.0.2 on MacOS Mojave 10.14.4, when i click links from applications, it opens it 2nd tab

When I open Firefox normally y the application, it just opens one tab (in this case depending on the option set)

But when i click on links in applications (Thunderbird, Apple mail etc). the browser opens: The firx tab is blank, while the second ta displays the page from the clicked link.

Disabling "Open links in tabs instead of new windows" under Preference "help" but doesn't solve the issue as it opens in a new window rather than a 2nd tab. Is there an about:config option i could set?

Every time I start firefox it nags me to "Set up sync" and it's driving me nuts. I only surf the net on my PC. I'm an old guy and my arthritic fingers won't allow me to use small devices to surf the net. I have no other devices to sync to. And I NEVER WILL have other devices to sync to. I am a long term firefox user, and don't want to use any other browser - but this is driving me nuts.

BTW, I get that you want to remind me about software updates, and I am fine with this. They are important - but not this sync business.

When I start to type an address in the URL bar, I get a drop down box directly below the url/address bar. The dropdown, which is as wide as my firefox window, contains a little magnifying glass icon and the text "Search with Yahoo" where Yahoo is my default, and only, search engine. I don't want this drop down box at all but I can't seem to disable it.

I've been having issues with Firefox on Ubuntu 18.10 for a while now. For whatever reason, whenever I try to access maps.google.com it states that the website is unavailable, whereas that maps.google.ca redirects to ww1.google.ca which, in turn, redirects to mediadiscovery.net - which is a website blocked by my router's adblocker. When I use Chromium or Vivaldi, I don't have that same issue, the website is completely accessible; also, if I instead use www.google.com/maps then I actually reach Google Maps from Firefox. I've already tried clearing cookies and cache, as well as restarting Firefox fresh. I only have one extension enabled (GNOME Shell Integration) and 3 plugins (OpenH264, Widevine and Shockwave Flash).

Any help is much appreciated. Also, I got the troubleshooting information while running in Safe Mode, which had no impact on the behavior I previously described.

At various points in my usage of Firefox, if my default home page isn't ChillTab, and even sometimes when it is, Firefox will randomly quit and restart with ChillTab as the default. Virtually every single time it has happened I was in the middle of watching a video. What's worse is that Firefox will demand updates so as to change the homepage to Yahoo.
