Usually when I start Firefox, it starts with the settings I have made at the beginning.

1) I have chosen a startup page as default

2) When downloading, I want to be asked where I want to download

3) I have three active add-ons that make my surfing life easier

About two weeks back, this is what I experience every time I start Firefox after I start my computer, and often it's enough that about an hour has passed since the last time I used/ran Firefox:

1) My chosen homepage doesn't open. Instead I get the two default tabs with the pages that are default after a fresh install of Firefox.

2) The download folder is set to default, instead of the setting that I chose myself.

3) My add-ons are nowhere to be found, and I have to add them all over again.

My work-around is to log in and sync Firefox, but that should not be necessary. Every time I start Firefox, it's back to default settings, and it takes a minute or half a minute for the sync to finish.

I have tried a complete uninstall (including cleaning the Mozilla folder from %appdata%) and then installing Firefox again. But it just doesn't work.

So, help.

Was there even an update today? The normal urgent update pop-up appeared and I followed the instructions as usual, including 'restart Firefox' to apply the update. Firefox reopened on the third tab in the browser with an official-looking Firefox page showing congratulations your update is complete and another pop-up saying to download a file: firefox-patch.js from iengibarclaysstockbrockers.com The website doesn't appear to have anything to do with Mozilla or Firefox. The thing that made me question it though was appearing on the third tab instead of the last tab, where it usually does.

I have a gray padlock with a yellow triangle and a white exclamation point in it on my hotmail (Outlook) email page in Mozilla. Upon investigation I find that my connection is not secure and that I am vulnerable to man-in-the-middle issues. I have spent parts of the last several days trying to understand (from all that I have found to read about this) and still don't understand or like this. Frankly, some of the info sounds contradictory.

I want my green padlock back. How do I get that?

I've opened my hotmail (Outlook) email in IE and Chrome and the only place I'm seeing this disturbing warning is in Mozilla. I'm a long time Mozilla user and prefer to stay one. But, this connection issue is about to send me to a different browser.

Thxs.

Power to my apartment came on and off a bunch from the power company working on line in neighborhood. I still have all of my PC files and programs however when I started to get online it wanted to reinstall Firefox. I just thought it was an update or something but it imported my information from Microsoft Explorer. I do not have any of my bookmarks or information on Firefox at least a year's worth of stuff is completely gone. What happened? Can I retrieve a backup of Firefox? or am i just out of luck?

Could Explorer be interfering? Even if not, would I be at any disadvantage if I uninstall Explorer?

I have updated the mozilla browser just minutes before, and now its the latest one. I too have account with firfox since 2013 but when I put my email in login screen of sync its showing "account doesn't exist". Please tell me how to recover my data. I have history, bookmarks and all data with this browser now. But if I create a new one will it remove the data in browser? Please fix this issue. Thank you Deepesh

I can no longer log in to my verizon.com account (no email, no paying the bill, nothing). The tab just keeps refreshing and bouncing between waiting, reading, transferring, sending and connecting. I also can't print from my American Greetings "create a card" account. I can log in but when I try to print, I get no action, not even an error message. I really don't want to go back to IE but that's the only way both of these problems are resolved. Any suggestions?

FF cannot correctly display certain czech news web server ( http://www.idnes.cz ) - its "subservers" ( e.g. https://auto.idnes.cz/ or https://sport.idnes.cz/ ) to be specific. Problem is only on my FF for linux mint (actually 50.1.0.). Opera works correctly and FF for widows as well. Disabling AdBlock did not help. It is strange as there was no problem to access these webpages in the past. Everytime I try to click on any article on main page ( www.idnes.cz ), FF gives a error page - connection error.

I don't think I did anything to make this happen. I did not install any new extensions or plug-ins. I don't even use Yahoo. I changed the settings back to default in the General tab under Options and that did not work. I tried all of the solutions that were suggested in the forums (making sure there was nothing at the end of the target URL listed in the properties/checking extensions) and nothing worked. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Extracted (show source, copy, paste) email as HTML contains fully explicit URIs for img src= tags. Loading this HTML into Firefox has 'Show Page Source' with correct URIs, but Firefox display doesn't show images. In Firefox 'copy image location' shows "data:image/gif;base64; ..." instead of the fully explicit URI from the HTML source, but no images are displayed. Fully explicit URI correctly loads (manually) into Firefox and displays correctly. Edge loads source HTML file and displays images without any problem.

Note that no CSS or Javascript is being used, just basic HTML.

What gives with FIrefox?

After the last 2 updates with Firefox the fonts have been condensed by default. When I go into the preferences and check default fonts it says Arial, I have even gone in and changed it to other san serif and serif fonts but it still condenses it. I go into Advanced and uncheck the box "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above". This fixes most of the pages I can't read but then it messes other pages that actually do use a narrow font, like the timer app in freshbooks. Main sites I am using that this is messing with are wrike and dropbox. How do I fix this so it goes back to using the websites default fonts?
