This is what happens: 1. I start Firefox (loads last session with multiple tabs) and all is well. 2. When I click on a tab, all the other tabs as well as the bookmarks disappear and everything but the tab I'm on turns light blue. 3. If I hover my mouse over the light blue line, the tabs reaper one by one, until I click one of them and the rest turn light blue again. Please check the picture attached.

I've restarted Firefox, restarted the computer, used Firefox in both maximized and windows mode...nothing works.

I'm using Firefox for years now and I believe it's the best browser ever, but this problem is a pain in the .... I can not afford to reinstall it as I'm using it for work and It will be very hard to recreate all the settings.

Please help me out. Thanks!

No activity of any kind going on with browser or other desktop applications (only background programs executing) Any idea what might be causing this? It creates restart box and reports that a crash report will be sent to Mozilla (if I submit it). Odd thing: I went to about:crashes and nothing is listed.

I'm using a Toshiba laptop, 64-bit, running Windows 10 Home, 8gb memory. Firefox version 43.0.4. This is really hard to explain but all these things started happening about the same time so that makes me think they are related. I can't tell if these problems are Firefox or Windows 10 related. Windows 10 has been the OS from Hell since I installed it. So if some of these things are Windows rather than Firefox, please tell me so I can contact them, yet again.

When I open a new window, it brings up the Firefox home page which is what I want. I start typing and I can get 3 or 4 words typed before they show up on the screen. I may be Super Woman in many ways :-) but not with my typing speed. The words used to appear immediately. Another thing, when I close tabs it take 3 to 5 seconds for them to close. It used to be immediate.

I'm pretty sure the issues above are Firefox, the ones below, I'm not so sure. If I happen to move my cursor over one of the icons on the taskbar, the little picture appears above the icon showing which screens were open which I like. However, now they don't disappear, even if I'm scrolling through a different application. I have to actually type something in a different application, or select the picture above the icon. They used to disappear when I moved the cursor off of the taskbar icon.

The other thing is that when I right click on the icon on the taskbar, for instance on Firefox, it would give me a menu to either open another Firefox window or close all the windows currently open. That menu no longer appears.

I've closed all the applications and re-booted but nothing has helped. There were a number of Windows Updates that occurred on 01/22 and 01/23 but I don't think they caused the problems because I've only noticed these problems the last few days.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

When I highlight a word(s) on a webpage and right-click on it, I get the option to "Search Google for" the highlighted word(s). I love that feature and use it very frequently. I would like to add "Search Wikipedia for" and "Search Google Images for" as well, but I have not figured out how to do so. I realize that others may wish to add other or additional searches in the same manner, such as "Search IMDB for" or "Search Allmusic for." I have already searched through about:config and through my Windows10 Registry, but I have found nothing. Please inform me as to how this may be accomplished.

Ever since upgrading to Windows 10, I've been having performance issues with Firefox. I've tried the beta, alpha, and stable versions to no avail. All give me grief. It's to the point I can't rely on Firefox like I can with the others.

It's only certain sites that give me performance issues; for example http://shop.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/?menu-id=laptops After the images load, it hangs for like 5-10 seconds before it's completely good. Where as other browsers do not hang at all.

Here's what I've tried...

  • Firefox in Safe mode
  • Refresh Firefox
  • Firefox Alpha
  • Firefox Beta
  • Firefox stable build without add-ons
  • Trying the same site on Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer, and Opera. All work fine except Firefox

Used performance monitor and noticed that my system is barely thinking when running Firefox and loading problem sites. So it makes me think it's software.

My system

Intel I7 5820K 16 GB DDR4 2400 MHz (4 x 4 GB) 512 SSD (Firefox installed on 7200 3 TB HDD) *I tried installing on SSD and HDD) Nvidia GTX 970 Windows 10 Pro Upgrade Comcast 180 Mbps down - 27 Mbps up speed Connection shared through R7000 router with custom firmware BitDefender AV

I enjoy using Firefox more than any other browser and would like to continue to use it. My standard browsing has one tab open at a time and problems occur, but when I work I use approximately 10-15 tabs at one time and I still have the problem on some sites, work related or not, and it's quite frustrating. I know Firefox is free so there's no real complaint here, just offering assistance to help better the product with some rant included :)

I'm using Firefox 43.0.4 and I tend to have quite a few tabs open, but recently I noticed the play/pause, settings, share etc elements to the Youtube playback window were missing. I tried a Firefox Refresh to clear out any cache issues and it didn't resolve the problem. Today while working in Google Drive I found the same problem, the little icons that should appear as UI buttons in the overlay of the image are missing. Please see attached image where the mouseover text is indicating a download option for the photo on the screen but no icon is present there. The only addon I have enabled is AdBlock Plus and this issue persists if I disable this addon. Plugins listed below.

I found some discussion around this bug report. Sounds like it may be the same or a similar issue: Bug 1125325 - Web content is not rescaled when OS X moves browser window from HiDPI laptop display to external display.

The current Firefox tab displays fine on the laptop, but the window on the external monitor only shows content in the upper left quarter of the window. The remaining space on the tab is white (no content). Switching to other tabs shows the same, limited content and white space. Refreshing the tab spins for a bit, then displays all content. This is not an acceptable workaround.

What's the fix?

Thanks! Erin

I continually experience the dreaded rotating blue-green circle with “Firefox not responding” message. My only option is to close the program. When I reopen, FF may work for a site or two but clicking on a new tab invariably triggers “not responding.” If I open FF via Run As Administrator, the problem does not occur. I’ve tried every fix I can find, including: 1) uninstall and download a new copy of FF; 2) Refresh FF; 3) create a new profile (although when I then clicked Start FF, nothing happened); 4) close FF and rename places.sqlite (to places.sqlite.old) and cookies.sqlite (to *.old); 5) set sessionstore resume-from-crash to False; 6) unchecked Use Hardware Accelerator; 7) made sure there is no session-store.js file; 8) change status of Shockwave to Ask to Activate; 9) change HomePage to FF default. What have I missed?

So after I chose to refresh firefox all went well. But then windows did an update and I restarted my computer. When I clicked to open firefox again, a dialog box popped up asking if I want to start it using one of two users. Default or Default-xxxxxxxxxx. I chose Default. However this is an older account and has none of my newer bookmarks or email setting or anything like that. Is there a way to set it so that I am using the Default-xxxxxxxx user instead?

Thank you!
