For Firefox 40 on Windows 7 laptop.

I today noticed that a Web site did not enable me to right-click links or indeed anywhere. A quick test with a different Firefox 40 profile equipped with NoScript demonstrated that if I blocked that page's JavaScript, right-click functionality was restored. Clearly, then, the page was using JavaScript to disable context menus and so on.

I then looked in the FF profile where J'Script was disabling right-clicking for the controls that enabled me to control whether or not JavaScript was allowed to disable right-clicks / prevent menus / et cetera. Evidently this control has been removed? (Oh dear, is this another example of FF's "take control out of the hands of the user" improvements?)

■ Am I correct in my conclusion that in Firefox 40 (and perhaps even in prior releases), control over JavaScript has been removed from FF's options? (I currently have Classic Theme Restorer in all my FF profiles. I note in passing that the number of FF features and behaviors that extremely important addon needs to put back into the users hands grows with each release of FF. Sigh...)

■ If I am correct, is there an addon that restores that basic functionality? Or an about:config trick? Or?

Cheers & thanks for your help...

I spotted this issue right after I installed Windows 10, and still haven't been able to figure out why. I did some research on google, but none of them were the case for firefox 39 (and 40.0 because I just updated!), and Windows 10.

What I believe is that Firefox has a built-in Open H.264 codec so I don't need additional installations or tweaks to enable h.264 support in the recent build. However, even if I can clearly see the codec installed in the plug-in list, it seems something is missing in my Firefox accroding to the support page.

I already tried clean reinstall, and even checked on the safe mode but had no luck so far. I wish I could get some help or any advice. Thanks in Advance!

BEFORE I get too into this, I must note that I'm using Windows 10...

within the span of roughly two hours, I've been experiencing multiple plugin crashes and "unresponsive Plugin" messages. I've tried numerous methods of fixing this, including: resetting firefox, checking to see if my plugins are up to date (which they are), un-installing and re-installing Flash, checking updates for firefox its self, disabling the "use hardware acceleration when available" option.... none of it worked. the persistent warning continues to pop up, despite my efforts to correct it; Message appearing on youtube http://prntscr.com/8gnfp1 and another on Mozilla Support while I was trying to get help on the topic http://prntscr.com/8gnghr

this issue has been getting exceedingly worse in the last few days, but has been a minor problem starting around 8/25/15. It's getting to the point where normal browsing, searching for information to do homework, and even business efforts regarding the selling of my artwork are nearly impossible to complete because the same errors are occurring - which, in turn, stall out my browser.

before ANYONE asks, here are my crash reports, starting from the most recent at the top, to the point where the problem first arose at the bottom. if anyone could help me, that would be immensely appreciated. Failing a College class because i cant complete the homework is extremely embarrassing and uncalled for - and losing out on money-making opportunities to help pay for said classes is even worse.

Firefox has been turning my pages black. It's not exactly a crash; all it takes to fix it is to minimize and re-maximize the browser. However it is incredibly annoying to have to continually do that while working. Screenshot image is added below.

This has been occurring ever since I upgraded to Windows 10. It only seems to occur on certain sites: namely facebook and SAS on demand (yay for the screen going black in the middle of coding!). Turning off hardware acceleration did not fix it, and I can reliably reproduce it by typing code into SAS on demand (or mousing around) or browsing Facebook. Any ideas? Thanks!

I tried the following: -Reinstall Firefox. (same) -Switch to Chrome. (same) -Switch back to Firefox and reinstall my graphics drivers and updating flash player. (same) I have to admit though, before doing all that i was getting this on every website, scrolling down for 10 seconds and this happened. But now it's mostly happening on Facebook, not so much on other websites. But in particularly, facebook is impossible.I can't even watch a video without the entire screen turning black and only the video being shown. I'm really out of ideas, could need some help.

Had to use restore on my computer recently and after I did, Firefox seem to have lost the ability to save the tabs I had open since the last time I used it, can't remember how it was configured to save the tabs after each session. Also the restore previous session was greyed out so the previous session was not kept, was only able to recover some of the tabs by looking through my history, at this time I can't just close Firefox and open it to my previous tabs, it starts from a new session. Will be closing Firefox from now on till a solution is found from my Task Manager, since this usually lets me restore Firefox previous tabs since it acts like a crash.

I'm on a Mac network and many of us are getting "Secure Connection Failed: The page your are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified." This number of sites displaying this error is increasing. It was just Wikipedia.org at first, but now I cannot even access Mozilla.org! I have tried virtually all of the solutions that have worked for others to no avail, including:

- Uninstalling Firefox and installing version 40.0.2

- setting "security.tls.version.fallback-limit" to 0 or 1

- setting "security.tls.version.max" to 0 or 1

- disabling "security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_128_sha" and "security.ssl3.dhe_rsa_aes_256_sha"

- Uninstalling and creating a new profile

- Verifying no plugins or add-ons are causing the issue

- Refreshing Firefox

And probably others that I cannot recall. I wish I could post more browser details, but can't because I can't get on Mozilla with Firefox. Please help and many thanks!
