9 out of ten times that I open Frontierville in Facebook I get an error that says "Adobe Flash plugin has crashed". I have reinstalled the plugin numerous times. I cleared my cache. Finaly, after 2 days of this I uninstalled and reinstalled both Firefox and Adobe Flash. Still the same problem. This is getting ridiculous, what can I do?

Title of my post says it all really: On a Mac, when command-clicking an auction link in a page of search results, the auction should open in a new tab. Instead, nothing happens. If I control-click to bring up the contextual menu I can open in a new tab OK.
This started happening a few weeks ago - maybe after a Firefox or Java update?
This does not happen on eBay.co.uk, by the way, just the US site.

I understand there's a workaround for disabling plugin-container.exe via about:config, but in order to avoid any risky procedures:
Why not simply program a simple checkbox under tools/options to enable/disable this feature?
That way everyone is happy!! :-) and problem solved!

When i open a new browser i get this gray screen(doesn't do it every time) . The whole screen isn't gray, just the top left corner is visible. You can click whatever is in the top corner, but you have to close the browser and reopen a new one to get rid of the gray screen. I have noticed this only happens when i am browsing sites with streaming video and a chat box, sites like Justin TV.

I've repeatedly heard that FF is fast, but my experience is the opposite. I've tried fresh FF installations, fresh system installations, cleaning the registry, desktop, browser cache, etc. Nothing helps. Occasionally FF runs at a speed I find acceptable, but usually I wait several seconds for each page to load, and up to 25 seconds for FF to start.
If FF is fast for other users, can someone please suggest why it might not be fast for me?
FF 3.6.4, Win XP Home SP3, 1Gb RAM, 2.7 GHz CPU, 16 GHz + cable, virtually no installed software except Outlook 2003, word processing and outlining apps, and misc., e.g., Quicken.
I try to limit the number of open tabs to three or four, and the number of open apps to two or three. At the moment the only FF I have installed is Adblock Plus. Opera is fast. SlimBrowser is fast. I.e., given all the above, I cannot think of a logical reason FF should not be fast -- or at least reasonably so. Any ideas, please?

Firefox crashes on any page with flash. I have the most recent version of Firefox on OSX Snow Leopard. I have made sure that I have all the most recent plugins and extensions and I am not running any custom theme. I have completely un-installed and re-installed Firefox and flash to no avail. I think the problem is in some user preference, but I cannot seem to find it. If I log out and use a different user on my machine, Firefox does not have the flash crash problem.

Hello, I'm a Firefox Contributor! If you are experiencing the issue stated on the title, we need your help!
We haven't yet discovered the true cause of this, so please DON'T ASK FOR HELP HERE!
However, we can use your help to find what is causing this and IMPROVE Firefox, if you let us give you a task that will provide us with valuable information! Before you reply to this, we need to confirm the details of this issue, DO NOT reply here if your issue doesn't match the following:
- Happens every time that Firefox is opened.
- Happens in Windows.
Also, one of the following has to happen:
- Firefox window is not responding just after opening Firefox and requires it to be killed on Task Manager OR ,
- Firefox window never shows up but the process "firefox.exe" is listed on Task Manager.
If you have this exact issue, please reply with:
- your operating system architecture (64-bit or 32-bit?)
- a debugging session
- your e-mail
so we can follow up with you to ask you for more information. I repeat, we DON'T HAVE a solution for this, so please don't tell us you have the problem without giving us the data we ask, and don't make other unrelated questions.
You might ask, how do you give us a debugging session? Instructions:
- You need to install the following software, "Debugging Tools for Windows". Download it from http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/DevTools/Debugging/default.mspx (if you own a 64-bit version of Windows, follow the link on that page to the 64-bit version). Then install it, the standard settings in the installation process are fine
- To begin debugging, run WinDbg from the Start menu. (Start->All Programs->Debugging Tools for Windows->WinDbg) Next, open the "File" menu and choose "Open Executable...". In the file chooser window that appears, open the firefox.exe executable in your Firefox program folder (C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox).
- You should now see a "Command" text window with debug output at the top and an input box at the bottom. You will have to enter commands in that input box, COPY THEM as they are written, ONE BY ONE, pressing enter after each one of them (this is IMPORTANT):
.sympath SRV*c:\symbols*http://symbols.mozilla.org/firefox
.symfix+ c:\symbols
.reload /f
- Now wait a second, this might take a while... Copy the following commands after...
.logopen /t c:\firefox-debug.log
.childdbg 1
.tlist
sxn gp
|* lm
- Now run Firefox by opening the Debug menu and clicking Go. Right after, Firefox should start running and the problem should happen again. As soon as you verify the problem is occurring, open the Debug menu and click Break. Then, copy these commands:
|* ~* kp
|* !analyze -v -hang
|* lm
- After these steps are completed, find the file c:\firefox-debug-(Today's Date).txt on your hard drive. Now, you have the data in that file, open it and copy the contents into a new pastebin URL at http://pastebin.mozilla.org/
- After creating the pastebin, be sure to save the CUSTOM url that links to your report.
Finally send us the data by replying here and indicating the URL of the pastebin, with the rest of the information we are asking above.

Running Windows XP SP 3.
Updated to Firefox 3.6.4 earlier this afternoon, and after doing so, the browser comes to a random halt either:
a) roughly every 15 minutes, or b) when there are more than 4 tabs open; regardless of the site. I even replicated it with 4 tabs of Mozilla forums.
Things will just fail to load, endlessly cycle, and then if I don't clear cache/settings and restart, it will freeze. I've reinstalled it twice, updated (I think) all add-ons and swept for any kind of 'ware, but nothing is fixing it.

After the last update to 3.6.6, I disabled plugin-container per the instructions given on the forum, and my RAM problems went away. However, after the automatic update to 3.6.8, the memory problems came back, with memory usage going up to 92%. I downgraded to 3.6.4, and turned plugin-container off again; while memory usage is currently at 84%, it is not as low as it was before the upgrade to 3.6.8. (79-80%) (There is very little difference in the websites being opened on the various tabs.)

Issue
Firefox is having problems with certain web sites
Description
FYI, (thanks to all developers)
I rarely go to porn sites but the popunder-windows they generate caused the plugin-container.exe to use 40% of cpus (2 cpu). This is after I had closed all tabs and left my computer unattended. This popunder-window might have very-very-unusually slipped my attention due to my errand.

Microsoft updates hijack the address-bar search engine from Google and sets it to Bing. Uninstalling the update solves the problem, but then I am left without the update. There is not any new plug-ins or add-ons when I restart my Firefox and there does not seem to be anything in about:config set to Bing when I look for "search" or "address". I don't understand how Microsoft is Hijacking the default address-bar Search engine. The search engine in the search box is still set to Google. Based on my search around it seems that this is not specific to one update but happens with different updates.
1. Is there a follow in design of Firefox that allow Microsoft to hijack the default search engine? 2. Is it possible to block similar behavior in the future? 3. Is it legally OK that Microsoft can modify my Firefox without explicitly asking my permission? 4. How can I change the search engine in the address-bar back to Google?
