I have been using Firefox for some time now. I love the browser. I really really hate this plugin check page that opens every time I open Firefox. It is just annoying.

I updated all the plugins that were vulnerable, but there are some other plugins that it doesn't seem to recognize or whatever, and it asks me to research those. Is this the reason why the plugin check continuously pops up?

I don't know why Mozilla designed this page to be so annoying. I know it's as simple as closing out of it, but it is just buggy to me and a constant reminder that I don't know something about these plugins LOL it drives me crazy...

Please help. Thanks.

Have Mozilla as my home page.. tower.. xp and this continues to interrupt Everything.. re-downloaded Firefox, but this Claro continues to reappear.. Other than annoying, I believe it to be intrusive and maybe a threat.. Do you have any suggestions about how to remove it..? I've exhausted all internet 'solutions', none of which work.. When I open the home page.. Mozilla.. I get this Claro Search.. I don't want Claro involved, I trust Mozilla. Many thanks Neal

Ok. So I have been reading and reading on here. There is a website that autocompeltes in my awesome bar. It will NOT GO AWAY no matter how many times I clear ALL history, delete ALL cookies, etc. There is no bookmark saved with said website. (www.axlscloset.com).

The moment I type the letter "a" in my awesome bat, FF suggests www.axlscloset.com. I have also tried the SHIFT + DELETE on my mac. It is absolutely driving me crazy. What can I do short of resetting FF?

To update, this is happening with all letters of the keyboard. For example, "w" yield www.whitehouse.gov even though I have not visited it in months. "C" yield cbsnews.com.

Again, please note no bookmarks or the like are saved. All history and cookies have been cleared.

Thanks in advance.

YouTube videos are completely downloading in memory from the start, slowing down the PC a great deal. So if I try to watch a 20-min 1080p video, I have to wait ~20-30 secs to load completely in the memory. Only after that can I watch it without the PC freezing completely.

How can I get back to the original functionality, where the videos were downloaded incrementally as you watched them?

My setup is: Intel Core2Duo 2.2, 3.2 GB RAM 800MHz, ATI Radeon HD 5670 w/1GB memory, 100Mbit broadband (~8-10 MB/s with youtube servers) However, Chrome for example loads flawlessly with almost no lag. But I love Firefox and don't want to switch to anything else...

Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Thanks in advance, Nicolae

I can not click on the buttons within youtube videos. The video itself plays fine. Audio is fine. It's just the buttons. I can't click play/pause, can't control the volume, can't scroll to different points in the video, or use any of the buttons in the bottom right corner. I've reinstalled Firefox and Adobe and it still won't work. Please help!!

On all other computers that I use Firefox on, when I type something into the address bar it will search google and give me the results, EXCEPT my own.

My ISP is Time Warner Cable, and they hijack my address bar searches to using a ton of yahoo's sponsored results and it is highly annoying.

I have went to the about:config, pulled up the keyword.url string and put in "http://www.google.com.my/search?q=" however this still does not fix my problem. I have even went to help>troubleshooting information> and then reset Firefox back to default, and then even did about:config and put in google for my keyword.url again. This still didn't work and Time Warner still hijacks my searches and uses yahoo... HELP PLEASE! Thanks

I used to use Firefox 13.0 on my MacBook Pro 13 2010 model. Everything used to work fine. Now, I have a Sager laptop with Windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04 installed and firefox does not complete downloads on Windows 7. It works fine till it reaches about 98%, and then gets stuck. If I pause and continue the installation, the file gets corrupt. If I restart the download, the same deal happens. Till now, I have had to download using the Ubuntu partition and transfer to my windows 7 partition. This is getting annoying. I would very much appreciate a solution.

Can anyone tell me what happened, and how do I get my old setup back? That setup had all my ad ons working correctly and I don't remember them all.. (only about 5).

Thanks.

Hello, I'm trying to get a video to play in firefox. I've tested it in all other browsers and on iPad and mobile and have had no issues with getting it to play, except in firefox. I get this error: No video with supported format and MIME type found? I'm a front end guy and I'm not sure what to do here. Here is the site: www.manhattanphysicalmedicine.com.

I've contacted the host (GoDaddy) and they said to include a web.config file that re directs the browser to pull up the .ogg file. They are hosting on a windows server so i was told that an .htaccess file would not work. Here is the code in the web.config file:

<configuration>
  <system.webServer>
    <staticContent>
      <remove fileExtension=".mp4" />
      <mimeMap fileExtension=".mp4" mimeType="video/mp4" />
      <mimeMap fileExtension=".ogg"  mimeType="video/ogg" />
    </staticContent>
  </system.webServer>
</configuration>

Here is the HTML:

 <video width="560" height="300" controls autoplay>
 <source src="images/flashintro.mp4" type="video/mp4"/>
 <source src="images/flashintro.ogg" type="video/ogg"/>
 <object id="FlashID" classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11cf-96B8-444553540000" width="560" height="300">
 <param name="movie" value="images/flashintro.swf">

Don't know why the code above is not showing?

I placed the web.config file on the root folder with no success. This seems harder than it should be. Maybe I'm missing something obvious? Is it worth bothering with .ogg files? Is there another option?

Any help would be MUCH appreciated!

Thanks,

Gerry

This is a freeze, not a crash, so I can't submit info to Mozilla. I've been through this in repeated updates, and it's only getting worse. FF used to be stable, now it's unreliable. I have OS X 10.6.8, fully updated. I have only 2 add-ons: Jave Applet Plug-in 13.8.3 and Shockwave Flash 11.4.402.265. It's entirely random, and usually with an ordinary site, with no video or pop-ups or anything moving. Force-quitting doesn't work; FF shows it's closed in the dock but the window is still open on the screen, and the beachball is spinning. It progressively freezes each app I click on, and finally I have to use the power button to shut down and restart. Again, this is getting worse, not better. I moved to FF because IE and Safari were so bad, but now FF is no better. Thankfully Word seems to save whatever I'm working on if I have to shut down, but email doesn't. With this kind of freeze, I'm not given the option to submit info to Mozilla - everything is frozen, the submit window doesn't even appear.
