Popup GUI elements if pulled up twice in quick succession spike my CPU usage and crash the program

some examples: -menu bar menus -the menu button -context menus (websites with their own context menus do not do this) -preview tooltips

I've tried disabling extensions, turning hardware acceleration off and on and disabling AI to no avail. Disabling the preview tooltips 'worked' but I'd prefer not to disable everything here. Are there any other settings that might help?

ello. My favorites have disappeared from my Windows 11 PC. It has happened once before and then I was able to get them back by deleting the sqlite file, now it doesn't work and I need your help with ending firefox processes etc.

Mozilla has disabled the 1Password extension. I've used this version of 1Password extension for years without issue so do not share Mozilla concerns. How do I override the disabling to continue using 1Password as the risk is acceptable to me? It is more important to me to be able to use 1Passsword than Mozilla, so I'll switch to another browser if Mozilla won't let me make my own risk determination.

All the icons in my Bookmark Toolbar have been working great with no errors for several years, through countless updates with no problem. Then, recently I noticed all the icons lost the color icons and just show as a wire globe. Clicking on them, any one of them, they all go to the same website. If I remove them, got to the website I want there, and drag the URL to the bookmark bar, things are back to normal for that icon. So I replaced each one, and the next day, when I open Firefox, all the icons are again wire globes. It seems that Firefox will not retain the URL for any of the icons.

I have recently purchased a new Windows 11 computer, and want to install Firefox there and transfer all my bookmarks, passwords, etc. There are obviously quite a few Support articles on this topic, and seemingly quite a few methods to use: copy and paste profile folder, sync, the backup/restore function within Settings, etc. I'm a bit reluctant to use sync, as some users report it can be an incomplete transfer. My current profile also may contain some "corruption", so I'm reluctant to copy the entire profile folder to the new computer.

My questions are: 1. Why is it "best is to avoid restoring a full profile folder"? 2. Is this the complete list of "important files that are safe to restore/transfer"? 2. In my profile folder, there are several files that start with the same file name, but then have different file extensions. For example: cookies.sqlite, cookies.sqlite.bak, cookies.sqlite-shm, cookies.sqlite-wal. Should I restore ALL these files, or just "cookies.sqlite"? 3. Is the correct procedure to copy the selected files from the "old" profile, and then paste them to the "new" profile, which presumably would overwrite files of the same name in the "new" profile? I have disabled AI according to the instructions given by Mozilla, under settings and AI controls. When I search, I still get the first result as an AI generated result. I want to disable that. I don't need AI's help to understand what I am looking for. I want an old school search without AI.

Is this possible? If not, could you please make it possible?

I've bought from an ecommerce site for years, using FF as my browser. Suddenly, over the last couple of weeks, I can't get to, receiving a 503 error message.

I can still get to the site on Edge, but I don't wish to use it or Chrome for ecommerce. Either they or you broke something. What needs to be done?

I had about 15 pinned tabs - unloaded - that I was saving for a research project. I shut my PC down and when powered up for the next session - all the pinned tabs were gone. I never thought to record the tabs via screen shot or something.

Is this normal - what are the limits of pinned tabs ? Do they expire in a day ? When the PC powers down ? When Firefox updates ?

Exactly what are the limits or boundaries for pinned tabs ?

I need to disable the "command I" keystroke because it is causing alot of problems when I hit it. I am on a Mac and use a Protooarc EK01+ keyboard, This keyboard has a "settings" key and when I peess it by accident, it dislays the Ihfo dialog screen (and erases what I've already typed. A few weeks ago, I started to get repeated messages from Firefox asking me to make Firefox my default browser. Firefox has been my default browser for years, and I have never made anything else my default browser. Anyway, I followed the prompts and re-selected Firefox as my default browser. A little while would go by (sometimes as little as a minute) and I would again get the prompts to select Firefox as my default browser. This append 20 or 30 times. And, every time it happened, all of my saved passwords disappeared, but would reappear when I re-selected Firefox. In the last week, this situation has gotten a lot worse. Now, the saved passwords don't come back. And, the prompt you usually get when entering passwords to a new site offering to save the password doesn't appear any more. So, the only way I can rebuild my saved passwords is to enter them manually, which I am not going to do because it would take a couple of hours and then I'm pretty sure they would all disappear again. Also, I like to go to my homepage when I open a new tab. Can't do that anymore. When I open a new tab, I get a new private browsing window. I have checked all my settings a dozen times, and they are correct. I have combed your support sites and there is nothing there to help me. I don't want to dump Firefox, but I cannot continue with it behaving as it does now. Is there anyone anywhere in your organization who can help me? Thank you.

We use ManageEngine's ServiceDesk plus and all has been fine until Firefox 148 update was installed.

The body of a request where we type details of a case or insert images now will not display anything. The data fields are fine, it is just the description box which appears to be iframe. Other browsers still work, but we prefer FF.

Since version 148.0b2 (64-bit), it's once again not possible to enter search terms in the search box of a new tab; instead, the browser searches in the address bar. I've had all the settings I found in the forums configured correctly for over five years, and they haven't changed. - browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar = False. Despite this, the search still occurs in the address bar. Now I'm back to the awful search in the address bar. How can I fix this? Please fix this bug as soon as possible.

Since installing the latest FF update (148) a few days ago, I have trouble replying to any topic on this site: https://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/. Prior to this update, there was no problem in replying or posting to the forum.

I do not have this problem on any of the other forums of which I am a member, only this one. I can log in and read posts with no problem, but I cannot reply to any post. I am also unable to start a new post on this particular forum (of which I am a Moderator). There is no flashing cursor when I wish to post, and I also cannot 'copy & paste' a reply either.

I have disabled Malware Bytes, Dark Reader and AdBlock plug-ins, this makes no difference.

If, however, I run FF in the "Troubleshoot" mode, I am able to to post replies to this forum. I have reinstalled FF v148 twice, the issue remains.

Testing the same forum with Opera browser I can access and reply to the forum above, even though with Opera I use the same plug-ins mentioned above turned on. It appears to thus be a FF permissions issue. I have cleared my Cookies and cache but this did not help.

Do you have any other suggestions? I am a FF user from day 1 all those years ago and have no desire to change to another browser.

When I go to a meeting on meet.google.com, Google Meet says "Camera is starting". My camera light flashes and then stays on. However, Google Meet is unable to connect to the camera.

Upon closing the tab, the camera light stays on and the camera is unresponsive to all apps. The camera must be unplugged and plugged back in to work again.

The issue does not exist when I go to webcammictest.com in Firefox or in other desktop apps. The camera works correctly on meet.google.com when I use Chrome.

I have tried removing camera and microphone permissions to meet.google.com and re-granting them. I have tried deleting all meet.google.com cookies and storage.

The email address box does not accept the email address and comes up with an error message. The only way to send an email is to use a different browser ie Google. Emails are still received as normal on Firefox / BT mail

I have a Mozilla account. On one laptop, I am logged in automatically when I open Firefox, and can access bookmarks and saved logins. The same is true on my Android phone. But I have a second laptop on which Firefox will not recognize my login credentials. I can log in to Mozilla Support, Monitor, etc., but not the browser itself. When I open Firefox, the login dialog pops up, but when I enter the password, it isn't recognized.

I have had this problem in the past, but now its back again. At first I just reset my password every time, then I set up the password to be auto-filled. I have had no sign-in failures for months. At one point i did figure out how to check my sign in history to see the failed attempts, and there were none. That was a long time ago, and I have since forgotten how to check this. The problem does seem to be with firefox as it does not happen with chrome.

Hello Support, Every time I open Firefox browser I see this Google Pop-up to sign in. I want this annoying tracker pop up screen to disappear altogether. I see it on the upper right screen it's very annoying and I don't or use or trust Google at all. I've searched through all settings my search engine is DDgo I see no way of eliminating google pop-up. Why I'm I receiving this and how do I get rid of of it ASAP?
