Firefox stops responding(the message from Fire fox) during my attempts to download files from my personal email. This freezes up my computer and I have to (Ctl-Alt-delete) to regain control of my computer. Every time I try to download, this occurs. I can choose print (the file) and this works. Fire fox should not be stop responding?

Since the latest update my firefox seems to have trouble loading video and streaming resources. Browsing through youtube shorts it would not let me scroll down by using the mousewheel or have a delay of 3 secons from time to time. changing to the downarrow to view the next short made me hit an invisible wall at about 200 shorts. browsing twitch also leads to signifficant delays of several seconds until any click action is performed. one time it even crashed so i decided to clear the browser cache and restart my pc. is there a new way the temporary data is stored in the new version? i have 32 GB of RAM and lots of free disk space so that shouldn't be the issue. Firefox used to have no issues whatsoever in older versions regarding videos and streams.

Hello everyone, Firefox seems restarting lately after update of various extensions and plugins.

It all started after I updated some extensions. I don't know why, it keeps repeating itself (probably already a dozen times, didn't count them but it happens very often). Firefox crashes, the bug report window appears shortly after, I try to send the report, but it says error, by clicking on "Details" the text I posted in the Troubleshoot Information appears, but I don't know where to look at to solve it, obviously.

I tried clearing cache, disabling updates for extensions, switching to default theme and other workarounds from similar threads I've found... like scanning the PC or memory for spywares, etc. no threats were found, even the least dangerous ones (shown in green with minimum level of risk, like cookies) were fixed but firefox keeps restarting as describing. I've also changed some configuration in about:config as stated in similar topics but I can't remember which ones, they just didn't work.

Further info: Firefox version 128.6.0 esr (32 bit) Windows 10 (64bit) HP Intel i5 PC 8 GB RAM Integrated video card

The problem seems occurring more often when I'm typing or when I click into text boxes, but it also happens randomly when I leave firefox in the background. I'm honestly clueless.

Thank you in advance for any help

Our Firefox sometimes stalls, and if we try to exit, to start fresh, it won't reopen, because there is a firefox process still running. The click to close Firefox has no effect on this background process. Taskmaster sometimes shows firefox processes, which can be closed, but that doesn't get everything. Sometimes a total hard shutdown resolves it.

Issue with high disk usage - \Mozilla\xul.dll after wake from hibernate

Win7x64p, FF 115.18.0esr (64-bit) When I power on my Dell E6440 from hibernate (& restart?), with or without some small portable apps running -Total Commander, notepad. I have to wait (sometimes 5 minutes or more) before I can use without significant lag. HDD LED full-on. If I start up FF while disk usage is very high, sometimes 1 core of CPU gets stuck at 100%. Sleep & wake resets this. Watching in Resource Monitor \Mozilla\xul.dll using high disk B/sec & HDD LED full on, when HDD LED returns normal xul.dll disk read activity drops to 0 or near.

Is a FF service/process reading its stored data?(via xul.dll) or something. Looking for any ideas to troubleshoot.

I'm not having any issues with FireFox running, just this process making PC unusable after wake-up. Thanks

For years I've used My Yahoo as my homepage when I first launch a browser like Firefox. However Yahoo changed it recently so it goes to a general Yahoo page. Not happy with that as it has way too much information on the page (which may be part of the problem). I can't enter info for Google search. If I try to reload the page there seems to be no response, or after a bit I'll see the spinning wheel. I've had to Force Quit more times than I can count, which also doesn't seem to generate a report for Mozilla each time. I use a VPN (Mullvad) but even if it's switched off the problem persists. I use a MacBook Air with Sequoia 15.1.1 as the OS. I have Firefox set in Troubleshoot mode at the moment and the pages I need, like Google search, work just fine, like they would normally. Still having the problem as of 1-14-25 at 11:30 AM MST.

I have read a number of reports of tab crashing, which I have continually. Running 133.0.3 (64-bit) on Win 11 Home 23H2. Very inconsistent crashes, sometime will open new tabs other times it will crash. I have reinstalled no change. I ran refresh, no change and now when I open Firefox I get a message to restore windows. I can't seem to get that message to go away. Any suggestions, especially about the opening message? I have used FF for years and am almost at the point of switching to Chrome. As an aside, also have problems on some websites processing information/orders when using Firefox. No problem when I switch to Chrome. Thanks in advance......

Subject: Assistance Required for Frequent Firefox Crashes on Ubuntu

Dear Developer Team,

I am facing persistent issues with Firefox crashing on my Ubuntu PC, and the problem has been ongoing for the past 40–50 days. Despite multiple attempts at troubleshooting—including uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, clearing all caches, and other measures—the issue remains unresolved.

I’ve noticed that Firefox works for a few days after reinstallation, but then problems begin to surface, such as a half-screen display. Eventually, after restarting the PC, the browser starts crashing again.

Could you please investigate this matter urgently and provide a resolution? Additionally, I would appreciate it if you could clarify whether this might be related to a RAM issue or some other underlying cause.

Looking forward to your assistance.

Best regards, zimmi

For the last day I've been having a problem with FF slow to load. I've tried the troubleshoot mode with little change. When it does load I can have problems with certain web sites loading e.g. Youtube, MSNBC, AOL mail etc. It's never consistent. The cache is clean and I've saved all the relevant cookies, I checked my internet provider and they are having no problems and I don't seem to be having any internal hdw issues e.g. ethernet cable connections etc. I reinstalled FF-not a clean install and seemed to help for a time. Do I have any options other than a refresh? I don't seem to be having the same issues with Edge or Chrome. All W11 updates are current. I look forward to anyone's comments.
