CentOS 6 with KDE desktop upgraded today via standard Centos yum repos to Firefox Quantum 60.1.0esr (64bit)

Every dialogue that involves a file manager (eg upload in a website, browse in preferences, open a file in the browser Ctrl+O, and import a certificate into the Certificate Manager - there may be more I havn't found yet) causes Firefox to crash with no crash messages or other dialogue.

I have tried: (on 2 different computers both with CentOS & KDE and Firefox Quantum 60.1.0esr (64bit) ) Restarting with all Add-ons disabled Removing all add-ons, plug-ins and extensions and restarting Deleting the profile and starting from scratch Removing Firefox via Yum and reinstalling

Nothing has any impact on the browser crashing when any dialogue involving displaying a file manager was involved.

Any thoughts would be very gratefully received.

Hello Techies...! Newly (sunday) installed with a zero errors Lubuntu 16.04.2 LTS Live session. It often crashes. First I guessed it crashed starting a video, e.g. in YouTube, but tonight it crashed while reading a Facebook profile. I always use Private Windows, I installed HTTPS Everywhere and the only other extension installed is Ubuntu Modifications, as you are aware. Firefox health report is enabled and backlogged crash report are allowed to be sent so I guess you can read this data, too. Do yoh need to know more to help me? Many thanks, Alberto

I use WINXP service pack 3

Lately firefox crashes often to the point I have to reboot system to be able to use web. What happens is tabs hang and become none responsive. ctrl-alt-delete does NOT work to close firefox. Even the crash reporter hangs only a reboot temporally fixes it. Nothing I have found on web/forums is working. Could it be this issue with adobe flush? If so what do I do as I would like to continue using winxp.

I aslo tried using chrome as a fix but although a little more stable the same problem happens with that lot as well.

I have a computer with Windows 10. For about two to three months from now, every so often, my computer/windows crashes when I open or save a PDF file on Firefox, which is extremely upsetting. I just found out some days ago that Firefox doesn't use anymore the adobe reader plugin, but uses instead its own built-in PDF viewer. When I changed the setting to use the external adobe reader software to open and/or download pdf files, it seems that my computer doesn't crashes anymore. So my questions are: why the bult-in PDF viewer makes windows 10 crash? Will that problem be fixed, and when? and lastly, why does Firefox forces to use its own built-in PDF viewer when it can't function correctly with windows 10? This have been the more upsetting problem I have had with my computer for a long time!

Hello, Pasted below is the report/details I get from Mozilla Crash Reporter. Is there any information in the report to help me fix the problem with my install? Thank you very much.

Clicking to launch Firefox immediately causes it to crash with the Mozilla Crash Report appearing. Even that doesn't work properly as I get a message reading, "There was a problem submitting your report."

I am connected, using IE to submit this request for help (the machine is XP). Below is the pasted Mozilla crash report information.

Thank you very much.

I can't re-install Firefox after multiple tries! I've used Firefox for many years. I updated my iMac to the newest OS (version 10.13.6) November 8. Soon after that update, when I opened Firefox a box popped up saying something like "firefox is slow to open, please refresh (or update?) to fix this problem". When I did that, Firefox crashed and Mozilla Crash Reporter opened. I clicked quit Firefox several times, the I clicked the box to tell Mozilla, I did this alot, no luck. Firefox won't open. So I uninstalled it according to your instructions on support. I tried to reinstall, still only getting the Crash Reporter. Have tried all the trouble shooting suggestions, but no luck. Can never get the app to open. I can get the "safe mode" box, but it won't open with the safe mode button or the refresh. Have run disc repair on my mac. Have fun the Malware app you suggested. Still no luck. I can't find a Firefox folder in my library. In application support did find something called "CrashReporter" nothing in there for Firefox. There is a folder in there called Mozilla, but it has folders in it titled "extensions". Not sure what to do or make of that. I tried to attach a screen shot of the details from one of my crash reports. No luck. I'll copy to the end of this note. Sorry it's so long. Would really like to work with Firefox again. FF keeps crashing, in both normal and Safe mode. I can start it ok in either mode, but it generally crashes within 30 secs or so. I'm on V 45.0, under Win 8.1. I was having troubles with the Cinnamon desktop and had to switch video cards. I found Firefox crashed right away. I then replaced the video card and reloaded from scratch and the Cinnamon desktop works fine but Firefox still goes straight to crash report. In fact I tested and even Thunderbird goes straight to crash report. It does appear to send out the info and it created a report but I can't do a copy and paste of the report since I can't send anything out myself. The version that came with the Linux Mint 19.1 Distro 32 bit should be a 32 bit version. Both Firefox and Thunderbird is working fine on my other two 64 bit machines running Mint 19.1 64 bit.

In the last few days Firefox keeps crashing on starup. Firefox will not open. Error message "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." Yesterday got it to open once after computer restart. Next attempts failed with same error message. Today tried un-install and re-install Firefox. Still will not open. Please help.
