I'm using a MacBook Pro 2008, and whenever I'm using Firefox and try to view a youtube video, either from www.youtube.com or imbedded in another site, the video screen appears scrambled and the browser suddenly shuts down. I've carried out updates to Firefox, Software, Plugins, browsed in safe mode, etc., to no avail. Has anyone ever had/solved this issue?

I finally got around to upgrading to windows 10, but it's starting to feel like a downgrade. I have been trying to track down the cause of these crashes over the last few days, as well as the cause of a bluescreen involving directx. I only mention that in case the two problems are related.

Crashes occur seemingly at random.

On top of messing with extensions and trying to recreate the problem, I have tried running in safe mode, and still encounter these random crashes. I'm not quite sure what I'm looking for in these crash reports, so I have run out of ideas. Hopefully someone who knows more than I do can help.

Within the last three days, I've observed a new problem with my Firefox. I have never encountered this problem before. If I load any text or images onto a tab, it causes the RAM usage to increase. Usage does not decrease over time, and websites such as Facebook and 9GAG, with long streams of images and text, can cause RAM usage to increase to over 2.5 Gigabits. Once it reaches this threshold, Firefox crashes. Manually closing Firefox also removes RAM usage, although closing tabs does not. I went through the help list for crashes, although nothing helped. I am running the most recent version of Firefox (15.0)

(Note: problems still occur with all functions below disabled) Add-on's: Adblock Plus 2.1.2 AVG Do Not Track 12.0.0.2189 Greasemonkey 1.0 Memory Fox 7.4 (attempted fix to problem, did not work) Printing Helper 2.5 TinEye Reverse Image Search 1.1 Xmarks 4.1.2 Plugins: Adobe Acrobat iTunes Application Detector Java Deployment Toolkit Microsoft Office 2010 Pando Web Plugin Shockwave Flash Silverlight Plug-In VLC Web Plugin Windows Live Photo Gallery

Just keeps randomly crashing. Crashes when I do things, crashes just sitting on the screen.

Only thing I can think of that is possibly suspicious is that I updated to stand alone Roboform 7.7.3 from 7.72 last night. No crashes before then. I've tried FF in safe mode - it crashes. I've reinstalled Firefox 10.0.2 and Roboform 7.7.3. Still crashes. I've rebooted - still crashes.

IE 9 and Chrome 17 are stable using Roboform.

I have sent a help request to Roboform without much hope of an intelligent reply.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Can someone please suggest why Firefox continues to crash when attempting to download a file. It happens every time, without fail.

  • I have deleted the downloads.sqlite file (more than once) to no effect.
  • I have disabled AVG firewall etc - to no effect.
  • Firefox originally crashed on the latest version, so I downgraded to v5.0.1 - to no effect. I have checked using AVG and an online virus/spyware checker and can find no infection.
  • I have submitted 17 crash reports since 29 September, but when I right click on any of them, and try to open in a new tab, I receive the following messge: “We couldn't find the OOID you're after. If you recently submitted this crash, it may still be in the queue.”

My OS is Vista Business 32 bit. Thank you for any help & advice.

It first started happening with the latest Flash. Randomly when watching YouTube videos (or any other video site that uses Flash) I'd have your typical crashes and freezes. However, it extended to more than just FireFox, it would cause constant freezes on my whole computer and anything I would do. It would continue even after I closed FireFox, forcing me to restart. It kept happening over and over and over again, so I downgraded to Flash 10.3. The problem disappeared for awhile, but then came back. Still on Flash 10.3, and seems to happen very often now. I thought it might be hardware problems, or a virus, or drivers were outdated. I checked everything, it's all fine and updated and scanned.

The problem only happens if I try to load any type of Flash video, be it from YouTube or elsewhere, and once it happens it'll keep happening until I restart. I found that by using Windows' "Boot with last known good configuration" it would stop the problem for a good few days, but then return, forcing me to restart and do it again. I re-updated my drivers and opted for nVidia's driver update instead of Sony's official driver for my nVidia card, but no change. I don't know what to do any more, and it's driving me nuts.

I am running Adobe flash 11.3.300.262 and Firefox 13.0.1 but Firefox still keeps crashing when watching Youtube movies for example. I tried to disable plugins but it did not change anything. It happened after the famous last update, I followed all the steps said on the forum to update Adobe Flash but no effect (I restarted etc.). It is quite frustrating ;) Any ideas on what to do? Or when a fix gets released?

I get the following message;

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information.

The program is Firefox.exe When I click ok, it closes the program. When I reopen the program, it either goes to the pages that closed or I get a "embarrassed" do I want to start new session or restore. I can tell that I'm going to get the error, when I see the tab start acting like it is downloading. I am becoming frustrated, since I have tried many different suggestions.

Firefox keeps crashing, regardless of whether or not it is in safe mode. If I simply start trying to interact with a web page or visit another link, it will crash. However, this does not happen if I do nothing and leave it there. I have tried reseting FF, to no avail. I could not get the crash report directly from FF, as it would crash before I got the chance.'

Also, this problem seem to coincide with Google Chrome displaying garbled text, though this is not a issue in Firefox. Any help is appreciated.
