Last night Firefox on my laptop performed an automatic Firefox update.. The Firefox that was installed can only display a single tab. This is a major for me, since I normally work with multiple tabs. This problem may impact a large number of Firefox users. The documented recommended fix for this problem did not fix the problem.

Until the most recent version(s) (at least through 148), if I have multiple windows open, the restore tab hotkey (control + shift + t) would open a closed tab in the previous window it had been closed in. Now, it opens the tab in whichever window I currently have focus on. It also used to remember the tab's previous location with regards to order among other tabs; now it opens it at the end of all tabs.

Example: I have two windows open, window A and window B. Window A has 5 tabs; window B has 10 tabs. I close tab 3 of Window B.

Old behavior: Pressing restore tab hotkey (control + shift + t) would cause the closed tab to always open in window B regardless of which window currently had focus, and would open it between tabs 2 and 4, as tab 3 again.

New behavior: Pressing restore tab hotkey (control + shift + t) will now cause the closed tab to open in whichever window has focus, A or B, and open as the last tab; for instance, if I am in window A, it will open as tab 6, if I am in window B, it will now open as tab 10, instead of tab 3.

Is there any way to restore the old behavior? At the very least, to get the windows to separate out the restore tab lists? I don't want tabs restoring to incorrect windows.

7/7/2026 Last night Firefox on my laptop performed an automatic update to the latest Firefox version. The new Firefox has a very bad setting in about;config .. this new Firefox can only show 1 tab ... it is opening up a new tab on top of the first tab, making it impossible to have more than 1 tab ..

This is going cause problems for thousands of Firefox users .. . how I fix this problem ... I tried setting the add tab settings into about;config to add a new tab to the right of the current tab, but my change made no difference ... how can I fix this problem ... does Firefox have a plan on how to fix for this problem for thousands of Firefox users.. this problem will impact thousands of Firefox users..

How can I expand horizontal pinned tabs? This tiny icons that now appear are useless, especially if you want multiple Google tabs, i.e. for search, maps, mail, they all appear as the Google "G"

In Firefox 152.0.5 under Windows 10, when I hover the mouse pointer over a tab, a balloon pops up showing the text that is on the tab. I find this extremely annoying as I can read what is on the tab. I have searched on the Mozilla site, and I have searched with Google, all to no avail. How can I disable those redundant popup balloons?

Firefox opens as it should but it opens with two additional tabs showing. How do I prevent this. What setting/s do I manipulate to prevent opening multiple tabs on start up? windows 11 / HP Omnibook, new purchase initial set up of FireFox.

Hi, My browser won't save the open tabs. I lost my tabs multiple times now, I don't even bother opening them back up now, but it's annoying. I have activated ( and disabled/enabled ) the setting to open previously open tabs on startup.

In an accounting/payroll software application, a new window opens instead of a new tab. How to I fix this?

Some checkout sites love to open PayPal in its own window without menu bars, which clashes with my uMatrix installation, as I'm not able to set the necessary permissions to make the pop-out window work correctly. I want to force websites to open pop-out windows as a new tab instead of its own window. How can I achieve this?

Where is my home screen start up tabs? I used to start up Firefox and my chosen tabs opened. Where are they? That is the reason I have stuck with Firefox all these years.

I have experience with chrome as i used to close the window then open i have my last session all the tabs occuring but in firefox im unable to do that even in settings of startup i have selected to open my previous tabs and windows but nothing opens just a blank screen also i cannot open recently closed tabs by command + shift+ T kindly help it is very annoying as i lose my presvous sessions again and again. The website wouldn't open for me, so I decided to restart Firefox, after which it closed all my tabs and tab groups. My settings are set to "keep tabs after closing the browser." This hasn't happened before.

I started using a tab group to organize my tabs and save it. I was able to open it from the overflow menu before but now there is no trace of it there. Surely there is a way to see the history of tab groups and recover it right...

I had maybe 8 to 15 container tabs, and they have all disappeared a few times before, i was a bit bothered but i didnt have anything too important there, but this time i had a few container tabs that had stuff that i had to keep there because i wouldnt remember them. now they are all gone, and it really annoying and i dont know how to get them back.
