My tab bar is way, way too small on Linux. I followed Arch's own documentation on how to fix this by increasing `layout.css.devPixelsPerPx` (mine is at 1.4), and then adjusting font size by editing userChrome.css to select the desired size. Problem is that Firefox won't actually change anything based on what I put in that file. I have set `toolkit.legacyUserProfileCustomizations.stylesheets` to True, and I have attached a photo of my userChrome.css (yes, I'm using nano because Vim is too advanced for my smooth brain). I changed it to a ton of different values and I can confirm that the font size is not actually changing.

Firefox can't keep login even other sites like :Youtube Facebook... Every time I exit Firefox for a while and re-login, the logins to websites log out and have to log back in again and again (I've tried uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it, and the problem persists). ( I think due to the settings for Firefox )

After years of successful near daily use of https://www.swpc.noaa.gov/communities/space-weather-enthusiasts, it now partially loads and the following message appears, “This page is slowing down Firefox. What can I do to correct this problem?

Thanks.

Why does Ad Blocker Ultimate sign me out of sites and block logging in page to some sites as well? Also why must you whitelist for instance my Gmail every time I log back in in the same session or after rebooting? It seems like all these once great apps are being compromised more and more as the sorry big tech giants use their propaganda and censoring to mold the public view into this one world government ran by the criminals that puppeteer these social media platforms? You people better wake up and stop all this invasion of privacy and stop using apps that insist on having control of your contacts and the ability to make send and delete texts sms and calls. All my problems are in windows 10 home another joke on humanity . If you made as many errors as the developers and creators in windows 10 you would be fired no questions asked. I'm learning Linux as fast as I can to get away from all this headache.

Using FF 88.0.1 in both Linux Mint and Windows 10 and without syncing add-ons, The "New Tab Override" looses my granted permission and opens a new tab on it's own Options/Preferences page, where it shows that permission is granted.

The simple solution I found that clearing the Startup cache restores functionality.

Already reported this on the add-on's Github site, which directed me back here.

I just started with 89.0 and instead of the horrid 15% of CPU that 88 used it now uses 30%. That's with an enormous amount of windows (not tabs) open, but most are limited by NoScript until I temp permit them. FX Task Manager shows very little usage, so apparently no ill behaved sites. AAR 30% of an i7 with many gigs of memory is intolerable. Even the 15% was heating up the CPU.

So I'll take "some" CPU heating vs. "massive" by rolling back to 88.0.1. By the way, whatever keeps changing my option from manually approved updates to automatic, thank you for doing that at times without asking me first.

The problem is that now when I start 88.0.1 it insists on a new profile "for my own protection". But I want the old profile, with hundreds of bookmarks and dozens or hundreds of session windows from my last session, and add-ins ... for example right how I don't have NoScript and don't have time to deal with that. I tried to get around the "we're just helping you" insistence on a new profile, by copying a week-old backup over C:\Users\Bill\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\hbouy3r1.default\sessionstore.jsonlz4 and starting but it still insists. I guess that's just sessions, not the whole profile.

Can I defeat the prohibition against using the old profile, or failing that, can I import or merge the old profile in? Keep in mind that the "old" profile has been modified by having started 89. I wish now that I had never selected the old profile when I began 89 (I always prompt for profile). (But, heck, I didn't even KNOW I was going to a new version. It auto-updated, and when I started FX, and it seems to have "updated" the old profile making it now unusable for a prior version).

Or can I go to a backup and copy the tree of C:\Users\Bill\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\OldProfile\ and start FX again with 88.0.1? BTW I assume that is the version I was on a week ago.

OS: Ubuntu 20.04 Affected Browser Versions: Latest Official Canonical packages, Mozilla Beta/Nightly apt releases, Manually downloaded tar.bz2 packages. (64bit versions 88/89) Installed Extensions: None, Clean profile

Firefox has stopped responding to pretty much anything - opening a new tab on a clean install doesn't show the suggested links/pocket articles - only a blank page (right clicking on the page doesn't open any context menu). Attempting to navigate to any `about:` pages also results in a white page. Fresh profiles exhibit the same behavior. Occasionally, executing `firefox about:config` will open the config page - but attempting to navigate to another site or about page fails. However, attempting to execute `firefox www.google.com` does not load the requested webpage.

The console also offers some warnings:

There are only a few things that I need on right click. Open in New Tab, save image as, copy link, copy link location. Only rarely do I use the developer functions, so that over time I am accustomed to accessing the Developer Tools from the Tools tab on the main menu. The fact that many of these tools that I do not use are now on the right-click menu are causing me to make errors. I subscribe to an online newspaper that is the first item I read in the day. I go through the front page of the newspaper, I right click on articles I want to read in a new tab. I am so used to doing this efficiently from older versions of Firefox in which the right-click menu always opened where I right-clicked and therefore at the "open link in new tab" selection. Now, what happen is that I react by instinct and find myself clicking the middle of the menu and not the top. This results in errors that waste my time and cost me time and frustration.

Having read a few other problems that other people have had with updates of Firefox, I have to add my voice here. I realize that there are legitimate reasons to change some things - but these things are technical and deal with internet security - not style. It seems to me that constantly moving things around (like menu bars and the like) interrupts a user's accustomed work flows and therefore not a benefit.

It seems to me that there are two possible solutions: One is to make every aspect of user preferences editable by the user. For me, that means the main menu bar is on the top, followed by the tabs, and the right-click or context menus are editable by the user. The other solution is to create two Firefox browsers - one for the traditionalist (I'm 82) and a new browser called "Firefox Superuser".

For now, I'd just appreciate it if someone could tell me how I can get the stuff I don't use off the right-click menu.

I apologize for my grumpiness, I realize you're all volunteers. But, first thing in the morning, having to try to remember that the right click menu might not be opening with "open link in new tab" right next to my cursor is more than I can manage. I automatically click and at least 80% of the time, I'm clicking the wrong thing.

I use iCloud.com for my email. A couple days ago my launched message windows (such as opening or replying to a message) will not come forward of the main screen. The tabs appear as thumbnail previews (see attached), but will not display on top. They stay behind the main window screen and cannot be used.

I am on current Firefox version (88.0.1), and did several refreshes which would fix it temporarily, but then it reverts back. I did a complete uninstall and re-installed, but this still has not fixed the problem.

This appears to be only on this PC: I have another almost identical box where Firefox displays the iCloud tabs correctly.

I'm now having to use MS Edge to send or reply to messages from iCloud.

I received a Yahoo email which contained a set of 33 images, all of which display correctly in W10 and (pardon the expression) Edge. Attachment 0 shows 1 of the 33 images.

Of those 33 images, I can see only 13 using W10 and Ffx 88.0.1. The rest are blank spaces. Attachment 1 is one of the blanks.

Attachment 2 is the URL for one of the blanks. Attachment 3 is an error message that I hope might help to determine what's going on here.

What am I missing? Do I have my Ffx settings messed up? I'd appreciate a nudge in the right direction...thanks!

Please assist... if nothing else works, I may have to uninstall and reinstall. I hate to do that though.
