I have suddenly lost internet access using my Firefox browser. Have been using it for years, and as a senior, non-techie, I don't know what to do. I would like to have a live person talk me through what to do. I am using a Mac BookAir macOSMonterey 12.7.6

I have noticed that in versions of Firefox newer than ESR 115.7 (and early 120s in the main release channel) I get eye strain while using Firefox. This issue didn't happen with earlier versions of Firefox - at least since the Proton UI changeover. And this issue doesn't exist on other software on my system. I haven't changed my Firefox settings.

As a result of this I haven't been able to update my installation of Firefox. I'd like to try to track down what changed around that time and see if I can find a workaround or possibly submit a bug? Is anyone familiar with graphics related changes that occurred around that time? How might I go about figuring this out? I'd like to keep up with the new features and security updates.

Sometimes, when I want to use the Take a Screenshot function (on my toolbar) to save a long section of a page, after selecting what I want and scrolling down to the Download button, the process positions the page's floating 'identification' bar across the the middle of the picture. Is there a way to set a keyboard shortcut to trigger the download command after making the selection, without the need to scroll down to see the button? This would greatly simplify the process. In some limited searching and testing, I haven't found anything that accomplishes this.

I have attached a screenshot of a page to serve as an example of how the bar is superimposed.

FWIW, this system is still running Windows 7, Firefox 115.22.0 esr.

I can't connect the Claude Login page anymore since beginning of september 2026. Last week I had no problem to connect it from Firefox. I have to go through Edge or Chrome.

Please advise.

I have 2 instances of Firefox: I use stable for all my professional work, and I use Developer Edition (Aurora Channel) for personal things. The stable branch works fine. In Aurora though, certain key combos will not work. This even persists in troubleshooting (safe) mode.

Specifically, it seems anything using both ctrl+alt will not register alt, only ctrl. alt, alt+shift, and ctrl+shift all seem to work fine, but ctrl+alt and ctrl+alt+shift do not. Again, this works fine in stable, so I am clueless as to why it doesn't work in my other instance.

Another detail is that this happens on multiple websites, not just one. The post prominent one is Google Sheets. In sheets, you can insert the date using `ctrl+;`, the time using `ctrl+shift+;`, and both using `ctrl+alt+shift+;`. Inserting them separately works fine, but both causes only one to insert.

Why is my news feed nothing but left wing garbage, from Politico, NPR, CBS. ABC, NBC, MSNBC, to Time to Huff Post, there is nothing Center or Center Right, it is all Lame Stream Left Wing Garbage.

What's up with that? We need some ideological diversity, in other words not Group Think.

I want some Fox News, Breitbart, Daily Wire, Town Hall Media, etc., and to be balanced you can throw in your current biased feed too. At least then, I can read the issues from several points of view, which after all, that is what it is all about.

Otherwise just leave my news feed splash page empty, I am quite adept at using several news sources for m information on the news of the day.

Every so often while using firefox, my mouse will suddenly not respond to clicking, both from my laptop and my mouse. My cursor on screen is still able to move however, and my laptop keys are also still functional. Is this due to me having a couple of profile windows open at the same time, or another reason?

I needed to go to sleep at 3am last night to rise for a 12 noon Christmas day dinner. So I am back now.

I have not been able to drag a picture into the text of an email message.

I mark the point of insert with the cursor, go to Insert menu, select the attach picture, and it ends up at the top of the email outside my message. When I try to drag the picture into the text area, a mat covers the text area instructing to insert it here. When I release it on the hotspot, the matted area goes blank and I receive a menu message "The following files couldn't be attached: "filename.jpg". Please try again later."

I seem to be doing everything correctly. I was able to do this some time in the past.

I am wondering if the problem has to do with a memory cache problem. Do I have too many 2000 blocked emails. Maybe a security problem not allowing the attachment?

On MacOS, in order to set keyboard shortcut, I need to know the exact name for the feature. But I can't find tab navigations in Firefox's menu.

For example, in Chrome, they have a menu called "Tab" and there is "Select Next Tab" and "Select Previous Tab" in the menu. That are the names I need to set keyboard shortcut. But I can't find the equivalent in Firefox.

From the screenshot, the keyboard shortcut works for Chrome, but not working for Firefox as I don't have the exact name for tab navigation.

 I have Firefox 140.0 on Windows 11 23H2.  I just noticed that the Favorites Sidebar text and background are both dark.  The History Sidebar does not have this problem.  Changing either Firefox or Windows color scheme has no effect.  I'm pretty sure this happened with the latest update.

I received a notice from centurylink about their changing my user I.D. from [edited] @q.com to [edited] @myctl.net beginning on 10/21/2025. I signed into my account, using the new email ([edited] @myctl.net) and now I'm blocked from my email / webmail Is firefox blocking my email account??
