Hi,

I am trying to develop a script to control extension management for Firefox on windows. I tried to create policies.json in C:\program files\Mozilla Firefox\distribution {

 "policies": {
   "Extensions": {
     "Uninstall": ["{63d150c4-394c-4275-bc32-c464e76a891c}","{63d150c4-394c-4275-bc32-c464e76a891c}"]
   }
 }

} This neither gets reflected in about:policies page, nor I see these extensions getting uninstalled/prevented from getting installed again.

I also tried to add extension to registry Software\Policies\Mozilla\Firefox\Extensions\Uninstall\1={63d150c4-394c-4275-bc32-c464e76a891c}, but don't see any impact.

Can someone please give any pointer for above approach not working.

I need to add the extension icon back to the toolbar. It had quit functioning, so I removed it, and now I can't figure out how to add it back in. I also can't find an extension that will allow me to directly email a browser page.

I have been using ByePass password manager from Iolo. I accidentally turned the permission for it to run on FireFox and now I can not allow it. Not sure how to find a setting for it. I have tried to re-launch it, and it will not reactivate. I clicked the do not allow in the Firefox settings thinking it was a different manager. Can someone help please?

I've been using an auto-refresh addon for a site I'm on but it forces me to go to the tab to refresh it manually and there's no way to turn it off! I accidentally clicked some kind of check box but it's not there anymore so I can't undo it! I've looked all over Firefox Settings but it's not there! Tried closing and reopening the tab, the browser and but nothing works!

I am enjoying the new sidebar with ChatGPT but having a small issue due to Enter being new line rather than send message. At the moment I have not found a keyboard key / combination to send a message and instead have to use my mouse to click send.

I would like to suggest an option to have either Enter being send message and Shift + Enter being new line, or the reverse of Enter is new line and Shift Enter is send message.

If there is a way to send a message using keyboard then please let me know.

I had an extension that gave me access to Claude.ai. It was working quite well until this morning, when its CPU shot through the roof. I shut down its tab. I could not figure out how to restart it, and it's not in my extensions list. Was that deprecated? Is there still a direct interface to Claude.ai on Firefox?

I pulled up About:Firefox, and it informs I must restart to update it. That was news to me.

I could also (before restart), do successive Control-T presses to resurrect my Claude.ai. I will try that before restart. Could you tell me what I should look for in the Claude.ai tab, or elsewhere, if Control-T is successful? Thanks,

How do I move an addon from the TOOLBAR into the PUZZLE PIECE list? I can get them OUT onto the Toolbar.

Also, the Customize Toolbar / overflow menu won't accept anything, the addon just pops back out when dragged from the Toolbar.

It seems there is no process in place for checking if recommended add-ons are still worthy of being recommended.

Easy Youtube Video Downloader Express is a prime example. It hasn't worked for a long time, was last updated in April 2024, and the developer no long responds to any form of communication. And yet it still one of your recommended add-ons. How can this be? Not only should it not be recommended, it should be removed.

new addons do not appear in toolbar, >> dropdown, or Overflow area.

wife's computer. Updated firefox to 115.25.0esr and it lost her Profile so I went to about:profiles and figured out which one to make default. It found her history, bookmarks, addons BUT reverted to the previous 115.24.0esr. (another problem there - should I try to update it again?)

After adding some more addons, I see they are active in the Preferences, but icons do not appear anywhere.
