firefox suddenly stopped showing any history or book marks. also no history. i've re downloaded, no change. all works well with chrome but i like firefox. and thoughts?

I rebooted my laptop to find that Firefox removed all of my data. I looked up for ways to fix this and then arrived at the conclusion that I could create a profile and set the folder to one of the profiles that weren't listed on Firefox. It seemed to save my history correctly and my saved downloads, but they all said that they were moved or missing. I checked the passwords and instead of the long list of passwords that I normally have, there were only a couple, and the passwords were also sometimes outdated. I cannot recover some of these passwords. I've tried checking the passwords in the other profiles that were listed in the profiles and nothing shows up. None of the cookies were saved either

I got a new tablet and synced my Fire fox but did it from the new device so it removed all my pinned shortcuts from my other computers. How can I recover my shortcut settings? What is the correct way to sync other devices to the one you have as the main one?

For the last couple of days, the address bar on the web apps that I've installed to my taskbar has been shrunk to about a third its usual length. I don't have flexible space put anywhere on my toolbar, and the problem is only on the sites I've put in the taskbar, not in regular browser windows. Is there a way to fix it, and get it back so it reaches all the way to the extension icons?

I'm using Firefox 147.0.1 on Windows 11, Version 25H2, Build 26200.7623, if that helps

After the last Firefox update the Home Screen Short Cut List is populated with every link I access on the Web. I don't need a short cut to everything I might view in a days time. That's what my History list is for.

The top two toggles in the "location" area of privacy settings are OFF. Greyed out. The rest are also in the off position and greyed out other than "Notify when apps request location" is toggled on. I accidentally said "yes" when it wanted me to share location. (I just started using Firefox last night). Then it opened my "settings" for my computer on it's own and I closed it out quickly as I was working on something important and I cannot have distractions. I did not mess with any toggles or click anywhere else except the big X in the right upper corner. Since I didn't mean to click yes now it is prompting me quite often, every few minutes, to turn the location service on and automatically opens the settings for my laptop to the page "Privacy & Security > Location. How do I get this Madness to stop?

When I opened a new Firefox page it contained links to more or less interesting articles in newspapers. For some reason I had to reset Firefox, now everything works fine again. But the links to articles are gone and I have no idea how to get them back. Any hints?

Somehow yahoo became my default search engine and when I do a search I get the same advertisement that blocks the entire landing screen, how can I change it back to google?

Hello community, I have many history items from forms that I want delete, I can delete formhistory.sqlite from Firefox profile in AppData, but after while all unwanted items are back downloaded from Firefox Account (cloud). Is it possible somehow delete those file in Firefox Account too?

FireFox Tab Groups can remain closed and be re-opened via "List All Tab Groups"

That's why I use FireFox (v146/v147) and not Edge or Chrome

BUT what worked well these last four months suddenly stopped working TODAY, i.e.

 "List All Tab Groups" has disappeared and all I see are tab groups created today

Sadly I never created any FireFox account until a few minutes ago Does that mean those lost Tab Groups can only be recreated manually or is there an easier way ?

Will this catastrophe happen every time FireFox auto-updates itself on start-up (v147 since Jan13) ???
