Open previous windows and tabs stopped working. I have gone to settings and made sure the option was selected, which it was, so I proceeded to refresh Firefox, no difference. I deleted Firefox completely and download it, then reinstalled it again. Still not working. How can I fix it?

Recently I've noted that tabs on my browser move from where I had them all the way to the far right end of the tabs list, and it happens at random. There'll be times when I click on another tab while listening to music or a video on another only to find the tab I was listening to had moved when I go to click back on it. Without fail, I've found these tabs at the far right end of the set of tabs, and I need to know how to put a stop to this. It's inconvenient, and annoying in extreme. This has to be due to a recent update, because up til a couple months ago, this didn't happen at all. If there's a setting that I can change in about:config, I would like to know about it, because you can bet I'll disable this feature.

Hi!

Previously, all the sites saved in a single container could be accessed via the dropdown arrow to the left of the 'close,' 'minimize,' and 'maximize' buttons. Now, it only shows current tabs, tabs from other devices, close duplicate tabs, and add a tab to one of the containers. But how to open those containers is unclear.

PS I have the latest update 139.0.1

Maybe it is my spiritual guides because i obsses and have OCD and have too many tabs. But i started having tabs get deleted and i have no tabs on re-launch, tried to check, re-check this. I Am not sure if to reinstall because i don't want to lose passwords or setting/history (i don't remember now it should be saved) but usually reinstalling doesn't solve anything for me anyways...

I didn't install any new extensions when it started happening!

It doesn't happen every time so it is hard to troubleshoot, i cannot use browser with safe mode. I might test it couple times.

I have a strange problem and cannot find any reason for it.

On two different machines (with the same Firefox account, same extensions) I'm using tab groups, also in multiple windows (restoring them after launching Firefox).

In one installation I can close all tab groups without any problem.

In the other if it's the last open group, trying to close it (by clicking its header) opens a new, empty tab instead.

I'm pretty sure the settings of both installations differ but I cannot find any setting that would cause this behavior. It's especially annoying because with many open tabs I have to scroll through all to find the group I want to open instead, open it, scroll back to the other group header and close it.

Any pointers on where to start looking?

Why won't Firefox open any new windows? I give ir the command to open a window and yet all i get are tabs and I never click on open a tab. I have an HP probook this for windows 10 and i am also having the same problem with Chrome. I have uninstalled and reinstalled chrome and that did not fix it so it is not that. What would cause this? I have already cleared the cache cookies history browsing etc. and nothing is fixing it. PLEASE HELP.

It's great that Firefox now has tab groups - but I'm finding two things unclear:

1. How do you pin tab groups?

- I can't seem to make them stay the same place (e.g. at the start of my open tabs). - They seem to randomly move around in the pile of tabs I have open, making them harder to find.

2. How do you prevent new tabs from automatically being added to the tab groups?

- It's annoying that new tabs seem to get thrown into your tab group even if they're not related (i.e. weren't a link clicked within the group).

I'd appreciate any tips on these two points!

Hello. I love the feature. I didn't know it was a new feature because I started using Firefox around April. I saved my group tabs, very happy about it. Then I close and save it, then I opened it again, it was great!

I am a student, I use my group tab to add the tabs that have the resources that I need to, and would also like to study for more knowledge and for my next school year.

There was no problem at that whole time. In April 21, there was no problem until April 22, 23 no problem. But I forgot my charger at that time, because I was at my mothers house. Then I wait for weeks for my charger to come back, about 2 weeks for my laptop to revive there in my grandparent's house.

When I got my charger, and opened firefox. Wait, but at first when I opened firefox, it showed me that there is a new update, an update about tab groups that I already now. I looked at my group tabs, and they are not there anymore.

What should I do to get them back.

I just had to close Firefox and reopen it and when I did I lost all my pinned tabs even though I had the checkbox in settings ticked to keep them, I managed to recover most of them by going through bookmarks and history but some I can't get back and I can't remember the websites to do it manually, this is more than just annoying, I have lost some very important websites.

I was excited to receive the new Tab Groups feature and am now disappointed that it's not working and I've 'lost' dozens of tabs.

Here's what I did: I created several groups by right-clicking and added tabs to each of the groups. Since it appears that only way to collapse a group is to "save and close group," I closed each group. Now they are all gone. When I right-click to create a new group or "add tab to group," the closed groups are nowhere to be found. Plus, I do not see a "list all tabs icon" on my toolbar to reopen the grouped tabs, which is what [article] says should happen.

Suggestions for making this work?

Hi there

am on Win 11 with Firefox 139.0 (64-bit)

Up until recently, when I right clicked open in new tab, the browser would open that tab at the end of the tabs

Now it opens next to the source tab

I have adjusted about:config so many times to try and get it to work but no joy

my settings are (based on wanting to open any tab at the end) browser.tabs.insertAfterCurrent = false browser.tabs.insertRelatedAfterCurrent => false

Is this a known issue? Its driving me nuts as I keep losing tabs. Thansk

Hi there,

I have just updated to version 139, and I still do not have access to tab groups on one of my devices. I have the devices synced and fully updated. I have tried restarting firefox many times, I have gone into the config and set browser.tabs.groups.enabled (already true), browser.tabs.groups.smart.enabled to true, and browser.tabs.groups.optin to true. still nothing and only on this computer. see attached images as proof of software version and config settings. Someone please help! I have been dying without groups after moving from chrome a year or so ago, so when I found out they were added I was so excited.

Hey, in other browsers when you type something in the address bar, for example "youtube" you get suggested searches/links and if you click on them with middle-mouse button (Firefox shift+Middle-Mouse button) you open them in a new unfocused tab and keep the search menu open and can keep clicking on suggestions.

In Firefox the search menu closes after each opened tab and I want it to stay open without having to type in it again after each opened tab. The new tab is unfocused as it should be, I just want the search bar to not clear itself.

I do not want to have to create hundreds of bookmarks for suggested searches.
