I Cannot reset a (supposed my) PIN that able me to view a password saved. Firefox asks me for a PIN which I do not know, when I want to reset the PIN it points me to "Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options", but neither in Firefox Options (that I have to assume is referring to with "Settings") nor Firefox Sync account settings there exists such a "Sign-in options". These are the steps I followed to locate "Settings" and "Accounts" and "Sign-in options"

1. I went to Firefox Options and searched for "Accounts" 1. I went to Firefox Sync Settings > Manage Accounts 1. Also I attempted to try with another account but I do not have / I do not remember the password if any, it is not the same of my main account password because it does not work.

But I could not get the given "Sign-in options". How can I reset the PIN or just delete it because I do not remember when I had to create it neither what it is?

I know the email and password of my account, Firefox could send me a PIN reset request to my email, the one I am registered to Ffx Sync.

Thanks in advance. Regards, Jorge

Options/privacy and security/saved logins/ click on the eye to view one of my passwords and the Windows Security- Mozilla Firefox Verify Your Identity box pops up.

It will not accept my firefox username and pw or my Windows Username and pw or my windows pin that i have had setup for years. All i get is -the password or username is incorrect.

I cannot view any of my passwords anymore??? Is there any way to either disable this popup option every time i want or need to view a PW or find out what i need to type in here? Does it want my FF details, My Windows details..?

My FF details are correct as i am signed in here obviously and in my browser on desktop. My windows details are correct but i just did a PW reset to make sure, and i still cannot use either of these logins to view my FF passwords.

I have cleared cookies, reset my pc and still i cannot get past this Windows Security - Mozilla Firefox Verify your identity pop up to access any of my passwords- the password or username is incorrect.

This just started happening in the last week or so.

I do not need help with this. I am posting it in the hopes that it might be of value to others.

I was using FF's Login information to view a password for a website, but, when I clicked the "eyeball" to confirm the password, a dialog box popped up... which lead to the loss of over half an hour of my time trying to comply with the request.

For the next half hour or so, it refused to accept my FireFox password nor any of the recent FF passwords as I scoured through my multiple pw storage and recovery options.

I finally logged out of FF and when I logged back in, FF accepted the FF password that didn't work in the view pw dialog window. I went back to that dialog window and the FF pw still didn't work.

I finally noticed that the thumbnail in the dialog window didn't match my FF thumbnail and finally noticed that the dialog box title was "Windows Security"

Windows was asking for my windows login password to allow me to view my firefox credentials within firefox.

Not sure when or how this happened, but I am pretty sure I viewed a ff pw within the last week or so without this requirement.

Hope this info might save time for others who encounter the same request, Beverly Howard

I've used firefox on mac for years no issues. Today for the first time ever it asked me to enter a Firefox password to view my saved passwords in my logins.

I've never (to my knowledge) set up a firefox account before so have no idea what the password is.

Why am I getting this suddenly and how do I disable it so I can see me saved passwords?

Hello,

I am testing Windows Hello support in Firefox 76 Beta 6 and 7.

Windows Hello is fully working in Windows 10 using my fingerprint reader to authenticate. When trying to show a password in Firefox password manager (w/o Master Password) Windows Hello is being triggered but only with the option to enter the Windows account password and no option to authenticate with other already set up Hello methods like fingerprint or PIN.

Is there any setting which needs to be modified in about:config to support all Windows Hello methods available on this machine?

Thanks in advance.

Situation: I am logged in to Firefox. When I try to see a password in Lockwise it asks me to log in again. (This has not happened before) Then it rejects the login. I verify user name because it appears at the upper right corner of the screen. I verify the password because it is written down in a file and has worked in the past. I have up to date Windows 10 pro on a Dell PC and up to date Firefox. I have scanned for viruses with Norton.

Possible solutions: Maybe the password file is corrupted? I feel that I must reset the password but then would I lose all save passwords, bookmarks, etc.? Can I back up this data and restore it after I change the password? How would I use the recovery key?

This is not the account I am worried about but since I have no idea what password is attached to my firefox account I have no way to sign on as that user and had to create another account using another email account! I am disabled and have no way to remember passwords. It is essential that I be able to see them. This new update suddenly stops me from seeing them and I have no idea what the firefox account password is or if this is the same password as my computer? To make things worse, the keyboard on my main laptop is broken and I can barely enter my computer password, so if this is my account password I can't enter this. My laptop is a windows 10 machine which constantly updates itself and causes chaos. It has a password for the main machine that is on the machine NOT some cloud or microsoft. There is also a microsoft password somewhere but I have no idea what it is!

I need to transfer passwords to this tablet but have no way to add the device with the unknown password.

I can not believe that mozzilla would create a system like this with NO WARNING and does not seem to have any way to recover a password without a key that I don't think was set up either. There is no way to recover my password as far as I can tell or copy it. Whenever I try to click on manage my account I get a screen that says "500 error." Help!!!!!!

Firefox Browser (76.0? &) 76.0.1 64-bit (new behaviour described below presented prior to browser restart to get to 76.0.1) asking for system password just to see stored passwords ... is this a legitimate change to Firefox's Security implementation(s)? Or is there some malware associated with Firefox and / or on my Win 7 Pro SP1 64-bit OS system waiting to pounce on my (Administrator-level) system password? FYI - I do not, and, never have, used a Master Password within Firefox.

Under security FF will not show me pw's to other sites that were previously saved. I get a box with my photo and name and it asks for the pw. I yesterday changed it successfully but when using the new pw, it says it's incorrect. I need to know pw's when I need it and it no longer allows me access and doesn't recognize me. Can not continue to be locked out of my own account/browser/computer. Never happened like this before as it always seemed to know it was me. This latest version is not working the same. How can I fix this?

I have just updated to 76.0.1. The saved logins is requesting a password in order for me to see or copy a password that I have saved. At first I thought it wanted my Firefox account password however it is asking for the PC password. Trouble is I don't use a password to log in to my PC, I use a 4 digit pin but it will not accept this. I set a password 5 years ago & have no idea what it is. Is there a way to stop Firefox asking for a password so I can properly access my saved login info?

Trying to figure out what my password was to a website. Its saved under my logins in firefox.

I click on the icon to reveal the password, and it asks for my firefox password. I enter it, and it rejects it.

I know the password is correct. I can log in and out of my mozilla account using that password. I reset it to something else anyway just in case. It still works to log in and out, but still won't work to view my other passwords.

The master password check box is unchecked. I tried to check it to set a new master password but that pops up the same dialogue, asking for my password. I enter it, it rejects it.
