Firefox hangs for 5 seconds between every type of download between the "Ok" of the "Save As.." dialog and the actual download of the file.

Any ideas how to resolve the issue or troubleshooting tips?

I'm currently using Firefox 108.0.2 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Pro 22H2

I have searched the "Knowledge Base" to no avail--no solutions, just others with the same problem. Every day a handful of fresh Trouble Reports pop up on my desktop, even though Firefox is not even running (as verified through the Windows Task Manager). It got so bad, I uninstalled/reinstalled and the problem persists. Otherwise, the browser works fine. My expertise lies outside trying to decipher arcane strings of data buried deep in the bowels of my computer, and frankly I should not have to start hiking up a steep learning curve just to get this to stop. I should add, I have been a fiercely loyal Firefox user since its inception.

I'm not super happy about sharing internal data with the rest of the universe, but have done so anyway in hopes we can get the madness to stop!

Hi, from many time (some months ago) I have this problem: sometimes (well, actually very often, but not always) when I start firefox it runs in “Private browsing” mode.

The problem happens both if I click on the icon in the gnome dock, and if I run firefox from the terminal. In both situations, the problem happens sometimes, and some times not.

When I launch it from the terminal, the output is the same, either if I see the bug or not.

The problem has already been reported on the Fedora support site, too.

What can I do to sort it out? Thank you very much

Hi, can you help? I can't access morphy richards website from my phone and my pc through Firefox. I can access it through Microsoft Edge on my pc and my Samsung Internet app on my phone but not through my Firefox app or windows 11 Pro desktop pc. I get this message on my pc

Steps I have taken is clearing data, history and cache on pc, turning off mcafee firewall. I use my pc through a wired Internet connection and my phone through Wi-Fi and data and it's the same on both I can't access the website. Like I mentioned I can access it no problems through Microsoft Edge on my pc and Samsung Internet app on my phone so I have now pinpointed it to Mozilla Firefox being the issue, also this is the only website I have issues with. The main youtube page loads and displays ok. As soon as a video is played (even in preview), firefox crashes. I'm on Linux Manjaro. other websites with video work fine (for ex Vimeo) I tried disabling all my addons and plugins in the normal mode (not troubleshoot mode) and it still crashes. However, the troubleshoot mode works fine ! Refreshing firefox didn't fix the issue. I have another computer with Linux manjaro and firefox works just fine. I spent a lot of time trying to understand what's wrong but I really don't see why.

Firefox can't connect to my local weather station at "http://192.168.33.11:8998/gauges.html" but chrome works just fine.

This is the error message I get:

The connection has timed out -- The server at 192.168.32.11 is taking too long to respond.

All the articles headings on ru.wikipedia.org have wrong encoding but the main text looks good.

I tried disabling "Allow pages to choose their own fonts" in the FF setting but I couldn't match the fonts using my systems ones so pages in Russian language don't look weirdly formatted.

Any suggestion how to fix it?

I have noticed for awhile now that when I load my Firefox homepage its keeps taking longer, certainly longer than it used to take. Also, when I load a You-tube video it takes about a minute for things to work properly. The video and audio are erratic and skipping and simply disjointed for about the first minute, but then after that period of time the You-tube video runs OK, both audio and video. Something seems to be causing those problems recently that I didn't have previously. The problem seems to just keep getting worse also. I would appreciate any input and suggestions that may help the problem. Thank you.

Hi, I just replaced my SSD (Samsung 960EVO m.2 250Gb) for a larger/faster SSD (Samsung 980 m.2 1Tb) . I'm on Windows 10 and have 32Mb Ram. Firefox is now very slow on some websites (not all).

This example is typical and has occured on multiple sites. To test and compare, I copied the URL, created a new tab in Firefox, then Paste and Go. I timed this 3 times and each time was 30 seconds. On my previous SSD, there was never an issue of any lag on any site.

BBC.co.uk/news is fine, as are several other sites. Does anyone have any idea what's happening? This is making Firefox unworkable for me, so unless I can fix the issue, I will have to move permanently to Chrome or Edge. That would be a shame after many years with Firefox.

When i reinstalled firefox everything was going fine until i noticed that i was being logged out of my accounts every start. I deleted my user folder and reinstalled firefox and its doing the same thing again. How do i fix this issue?

Firefox began returning a PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR error on all websites a few days ago. Chrome likewise. MIcrosoft Edge is working fine. I am running Windows 7 with Kaspersky. I tried turning off the Windows Firewall and the Kaspersky protection, but it didn't help. I also tried disabling plugins, theme, and add-ons but it still didn't help. Any suggestions?

For some reason, with no prompting I'm aware of, the click and drag scrolling feature of the middle mouse button has stopped working, solely in Firefox. It works fine in other programs, such as Steam or Edge. The error persists across multiple mice, and while in troubleshoot mode. Middle click by itself does work, opening and closing tabs with no issues. I'm fully updated, both Windows and Firefox. I haven't tried reinstalling yet, but I wanted to ask if there was any other known fix I didn't manage to find.

Hi! In my setup Firefox tabs keeps crashing for about one week (not sure when it was really starting). In most cases, only one tab crashed and others contiune to work. Only sometimes a second tab crashes at the same time. I also tried the safe mode but the crashes continued to happen.

I've just downloaded firefox, making the switch from chrome. Doing so I've migrated a couple of tabs and extensions I had. Totally it was 50 tabs, with 6 extensions, I've downgraded now with the switch and it's only 37 tabs and 2 extensions, even so firefox is using more ram than google by a large amount. With 50 tabs open, chrome was using 1.5gigabytes of memory. With the same 37 tabs and extensions, firefox is currently using 6 gigabytes of memory.

The tabs used are from reputable sources, so firefox shouldn't be breaking on these websites. The extensions I am using at the moment on firefox is, Ublock origin, Dark Reader.

As far as reputation goes, firefox should be using less Ram than chrome. Is there a setting I should know about to lower such performance issues? Firefox acceleration is ON.

Hi, Ive looked for a reason for this but i can find nothing. I've freshly installed ubuntu, pop_os and Manjaro. All 3 crash within minutes of starting up firefox. mind you these are fresh installs and there is no cache to clear and no extensions or addons. And what is stranger is the fact that only on Manjaro, firefox is excruciatingly slow. to the point of almost unusable. Is there any thing i can do, or, can anyone help me with this? its been going on for several months. thank you for your help and time Alchamech

I'm using the latest version of Firefox on an updated Fedora Linux installation. I am experiencing for a while now random crashing while watching videos. The playback crashing is random, so I could be watching 5 videos one after another with no crashing and then one video will cause it to crash. The video causing is site agnostic, so it could crash from any site, not just YouTube. I saw in bugzilla something that I thought was related to the crashing (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1779558) but it got resolved and it still keeps happening to me.

It's getting tiresome, please. What do I need to send you to help me fix this problem?
