Is there a way to create something comparable to a bookmarklet (as described in /questions/956384) for browsing history and if so, how?

Also, would any of the history be lost (as mentioned by John99 in connection with /questions/956552)?

I first heard of this on TV news. I thought it said something about Facebook reading users' history - could be wrong on the facebook part. Then found this article about a university student that discovered this hole.

Is there any response about this from Mozilla yet?

I work at a public library. And we have Firefox installed on all of our public computers. One of those computers is not forgetting a particular patron's login information for Yahoo Mail.

We've set our public computers for Firefox to clear out Cookies, Cache, Active Logins, Forms & Search History, Browsing & Download History, Saved Passwords AND Site Preferences when it closes. We use custom privacy settings, telling Firefox NOT to remember Browsing & Download history, as well as Form & Search History.

We've tried clearing ALL History, we've cleared all saved passwords. Nothing helps. Every time anyone goes to login for Yahoo on that computer, the other patron's login information is right there (the password is shown as dots, of course, but it's still there).

Anyone have any ideas on how to clear that information? Any help would be much appreciated.

I would need history of at least 6 months 7 days history is of limited use And also I would like to have a search result that shows all the days I visited that site F ex the site "intelligent cats" I visited perhaps on 5 different dates, then i want to see that listed 5 times

My default search setting keeps reverting back to Yahoo after I reset my computer. Closing Firefox keeps the one I change it to but restarting the computer changes it.

I can't open the history sidebar. The "Show your History" option opens it's tab fine (the drop-down that says "Show History Sidebar", "Clear Recent History..." ect.). But, when clicking on the "Show History Sidebar", nothing comes up. I can use the "Show All History" option but the sidebar doesn't open for some reason.

when i do a search, a menu of websites appear. click on one, then exit and it changed colour ( indicating i've checked it out). now it doesn't do it. why? how do i change it back?

Hi guys! My firefox does not remember any history at all. Of course the privacy settings say: " remember history". Everything else (bookmarks and such work fine. I have done a "reset firefox" twice; no change. There is an article from someone with similar problems, but vital chunks of info are missing, so I can not reproduce what exactly the problem was and how it was solved. Any suggestions anyone?? All my tabs closed when I installed skype which changed my homepage and some firefox settings, I can excess the bookmark backups that ware done automatically by firefox every moth or so and it would satisfie me, but when I press it, it asks if I am ok with replacing current tabs with the backed up ones, I click yes, and nothing happens. Any help?

I delete websites I visit in "History" line by line, and I save the ones I find valuable for viewing in the future. Last week I visited a new website and checked out a few articles. A few days later I was deleting that day's line items I did not want to revisit. This particular website would not let me delete any of it's line items, no matter what. It was Just this website. Never have I encountered this problem. I had to go into Firefox and delete this particular website under "Forget this Site." Any answer as to why?

I'm trying to find a certain site that i visited a few days ago because it had the name of a song on it that I'm looking for. I know I've found places I've visited today, yesterday, in the past week, month, year, etc. in the past... but I can't remember how to get there. Can someone please send detailed steps with screenshots so I know where to look? Thanks, Karen

Two issues 1. I currently have AVG, I am able to access AVG through internet explore but not through FF, i am also able to access other antivirus web sites in FF but not mine 2. How do I remove history on my user ID's?

Аналогично, нельзя закрыть при помощи панели задач Windows. Эта вкладка сохраняет в себе закладки других сайтов. Но есть существенный недостаток: закладки нельзя настоить вручную, они возникают случайным образом. Из-за этой владки сложно закрыть Firefox.

Back in the day I was able to Click on History, Show All History and see the sites I had visited in the past. (I don't remember how far back I could go.) Lately I can only see Today. I am using Windows 8.1 with FF 37.0.2

I have asked this without result. When using firefox, I can do a search, go to a page, go to deeper pages, click the back button and forward button; but when I click the back button to the home page, the forward button disappears. I have done this by accident or design many times. When I back up to the home page, I have to start all over again, redo the search and it is extremely frustrating. This is NOT fixed by the "Restore Defaults." It seems that if I back up to my home page [Usually Google Search] then Firefox assumes that I will not want to go forward again. I do NOT want another ADD-ON for this. I merely want the forward button in all windows where there is a forward page. How can I get that? I hate to say it, but this happens enough that I have been using Chrome for searches and just general surfing. In my opinion, the forward button show be in ALL windows, grayed out if necessary, but there. But I can accept it disappearing when there is NO forward page. But not when there is a forward page. Note: this NEVER happens in Chrome [and others.] See pictures 1. Google search 2. Search for Yellowstone 3. Go to Yellowstone site 4. Click back button to Search for Yellowstone page. 5. Click back to Google page. Where is the forward button so that I can go forward to the Yellowstone search???

All Firefox History tools are either disabled or simply not working (ie. cannot open "See All History"), the back Button only works part of the time (and the forward button never shows), and I cannot select a Home Page (I always open to a white page). I've already tried Refreshing Firefox but all of the issues remain.

As long as Firefox is open and I visit websites, they will show up on the "most visited sites" when I open a new tab (clicking on "+"), but as soon as I close Firefox and re-open it, the "most visited sites" is now blank. I refreshed Firefox, my config are : browser.newtab.url = about:newtab, Firefox will: Remember history...

When I use any search engine to look for information, a long list of possibilities comes up. As I explore the most likely of these, the color of explored results doesn't change, so I soon lose track of which ones I have already tried and I end up wasting time re-trying the same sites! I have used FF Options/Content/Color to check change color of visited links, but it doesn't work in search engine result lists. IE doesn't have this problem so searching is much more efficient with IE. Please check into this glitch.

ALSO: The previous display for "Options" was far superior to the new one! It was easier to comprehend the whole schemata of an option, therefore much easier and faster to use! Now you have to stumble around and wonder where everything went, just seeing parts of things. I really HATE it big time. TIP: If something don't need fixin', don't fix it. Seems like tech guys just like to spend their days reconfiguring tech things for the heck of it, maybe to entertain themselves or impress their fellow tech buddies, BUT NEVER WITH PRIMARY FOCUS ON THE CONSUMER, most of whom use tech for mandatory work and not entertainment, and all of whom really don't have the time to keep learning every new twist. Tech isn't "fun" for us. Tech is a means to do a task that we want to get done as soon as possible, and unnecessary changes are just annoying stumbling blocks. Remember that, developers. Strive more for efficiency with a smooth continuum, and not for what might be "cool" to tech insiders.
