Since the last update from Firefox to my tablet (Windows 10), the on-screen keyboard is displayed briefly when you select it in the toolbar, but then disappears again immediately, making an entry impossible! This phenomenon only occurs with Firefox, all other browsers and programs work perfectly with the on-screen keyboard!

Hey There!

I have set photos.google.com to automatically open in a tab container called "Google."

Now I would like remove this automatic function, as i might be opening that website in different container tab, since i have a mutipule google accounts spread across different google accounts.

Is there a way to remove or unlearn the "Always Open This Tab in a Container" for a specific domain?

As far as I can tell you can only change the container the automatically opens, but you can't just unlearn it.

Any suggestions?

Maybe add a unlearn option to the menu in the attached picture?

The latest version 84.0.1 for Mac now opens a new print menu, which is terrible. How do I force it to go away and permanently default to "print using the system dialog", which "Firefox help" never heard of. I can't find any way to get rid of it. It is a hateful change to Firefox, I hate it and my sister is in tears. She hates computers anyway. Seniors can't handle these dramatic changes.

Wow... I just updated and am trying to use Firefox as my default browser yet again, however, yet again, it's RAM usage is ruining an otherwise good relationship. Why does this browser guzzle RAM so hungrily? I had to reboot it as I couldn't type any longer, without waiting every few letters before seeing them on the screen, and I've got 60 Gigs of RAM. But Firefox was using 22 of them!

This has obviously been an ongoing issue for years, both from my experience, and the 2,000 threads that come up in response to this issue. Come on guys, it can't be this impossible to create a functional browser that is more RAM efficient, what's the problem?

Oh, and it sure would be nice, given 2,000 results from my search, to be able to filter them by date. I'm using version 84, so threads dealing with version 50 or so, aren't going to be of much help...

Thanks to terrible, productivity-sucking changes in the basic functions of the FF browser, I have started using other browsers. First - FF updates far too frequently - almost daily. No option to block update notifications. Never know if it's something trivial, an important security fix, or a major interface change. The 'what's new' page is always incomplete. 2nd - FF downloads software surreptiously through the sneaky "normandy" back door and inserts feature changes irregardlessly. Doesn't matter if you explicitly selected NO to enrolling in studies. Users can't get a straight answer on how to disable Normandy. Named after the Allied stealth invasion of Europe, it does the same thing to our computers. 3rd- FF caters to fringe techie desires with an onslaught of unwanted or unsuable additions that bloats the software, uses up CPU, or inserts intrusive attention-seeking diversions. I am forced to spend too much time after each update to investigate how to shut off unwanted surprises as well as unannounced alterations to my option settings. For example, if I press the mute button on my keyboard a very large media window pops up and takes over a sizeable chunk of my computer screen. It cannot be resized. It has no close button. Took hours to find out how to disable this. 4th-FF developers seem to expect users to have the newest computer equipment, huge display screens, and lot's of extra memory. If not, too bad. 5th - the recent puzzling, arrogant changes to the basic print function is evidence of that mindset. FF developers say they aren't going to let users revert to the normal "classic" small foot-print pulldown menu on the left side of the screen to preview, set up headers, etc. Too bad if the open window is too narrow to view this new intrusive, real estate consuming right hand display. Too bad that you can no longer simply seamlessly interact and accomplish the task. Too bad that the FF developers think they know better than you that you should change the way you work. 6th Reader view is an obscure feature. I do not want to be forced to use it. I do my best to strip out or ignore the overwhelming number of pictographs competing for my attention, 7th - I can no longer see URLs in the address bar. You've truncated them. I am forced to cut and paste them into a text editor to see them in their entirety. 8th - Firefox hangs video streaming sites like peacocktv.com. Windows Taskmanager shows that FF forces CPU and hard drive usage to 100%. 9th -There is no mechanism to escape, break, or interrupt FF's failed video stream. How sad that Microsoft's obnoxious Edge browser is better at video streaming. It uses far less system resources on the same video streaming site. AND doesn't hang the OS. It's likely FF's new unwanted capability to launch multiple picture in pictures - which I don't use - hogs resources. 10th- How about beta testing using 'normal' non-super techie /gamer users? 11th -FF disabled user Feedback. I stopped updating Firefox. Not trustworthy.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this bloat? Some of us have never made it to the high speed information superhighway and are still stuck on the data dirt road. Thanks

So, I just noticed today that my bookmarks section is acting oddly. Normally it brings up the option for where to send a bookmark. But randomly, I've seen it suddenly switch to just defaulting to the last bookmark location. For example, I want to bookmark something in a bookmark folder I have specific for things related to writing, but when I go to bookmark the site, the first thing that comes up is the location I created for youtube videos. What exactly is going on here, and how do I fix that?

For years now Mozilla has been forcing users to add a userChrome file to get their tabs BELOW the address bar. They have also been changing the rules for doing it every so often so users have to go back and modify their userChrome.css files.

WHY doesn't the Mozilla development team wake up and make it easier for users to maintain the look and feel of their UI to match their preferences. It shouldn't require a special .css file to make this happen.

PLEASE add settings in the about:config (or better yet in the tools/options) to allow users to move the tabs below the address bar line.

ARE YOU LISTENING Mozilla??

I am continuing to have issues going to this web site. www.goldtonemusicgroup.com/goldtone. Works great on chrome but firefox fails miserably. The page needs to be downsized and when you click on a link it may open it but it may be behind it but I am never able to get to it. I think possibly the last update something must have messed up. I used to be able to load it but not anymore. I have to use another browser to work with this web site. Other web sites seem to be ok. Thanks for any info.

I have an ssh tunnel that I am using to access an AWS ElasticSearch instance running in AWS, so that I can see Kibana in my browser. The tunnel is necessary because access is only allowed through a specific jump/gateway host that we have setup (this is very standard).

I used to be able to access this just fine with http://localhost:9200/_plugin/kibana But then ElasticSearch updated something to require that the 'HOST' header contain the original host, ie: search-blahblahblahblah.us-east-1.es.amazonaws.com

Ok, no matter, I'll just add an entry to my hosts file: 127.0.0.1 search-blahblahblahblah.us-east-1.es.amazonaws.com

Now, I can curl just fine, and using Chrome works just fine too: http://search-blahblahblahblah.us-east-1.es.amazonaws.com:9200/_plugin/kibana

But every time I try to use Firefox, it replaces the http with https, which obviously doesn't work because the tunnel is to port 80.

Yes, I realize that *.amazonaws.com is owned by Amazon and they have an SSL cert.

I have read a similar ticket, here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1209387 The acceptable answer in that ticket seemed to be to use a different domain for local development, which shouldn't be too hard to do, but in my case this is not a usable answer.

I should be able to override Firefox and tell it not to change a URL that I have put into it, at least for specific sites.
