For a number of months, I have not been able to update firefox to my Linux system. I download it and opened the downloaded file, opened various files, but nothing happens. I have tried using various methods to download and update it, but I continue to get a message that update is available. I'm currently using 121.0.1. I have a number of download files in my download folder, such as..."/home/jim/Downloads/firefox-128.0(1).tar.bz2" I tried to uninstall and reinstall "How to remove Mozilla Firefox from Ubuntu"

   sudo apt remove firefox.
   sudo rm -Rf /usr/bin/firefox.
   sudo rm -Rf /usr/loca/firefox.
   sudo snap remove firefox.

and then this "Install Firefox" First, add the Mozilla signing key $ sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys 6DCF7707EBC211F. And then install the latest version of Firefox with this command: $ sudo apt install firefox. These commands seem to complete normally, but I continue to get "update available" messages. I give up. I've done everything I can think of. Help would be greatly appreaciated. Jim

When ever I click on a youtube link I get a flash of the video and then "Video unavailable This content isn't available". But the video is clearly available as runs fine in other browsers. Since FF is my default browser this is a real pain and may force me to go to a different default browser which I don't want.

I have cleared the cache no change It does the same in incognito mode

Hello! I have an issue where there are two entries for the same device showing up when I click "Send tab to device." I've already tried logging out on this device, and the rest of my devices, and logging back in, but there are still two entries for it. I have also verified that there is only one device under this name in accounts.firefox.com.

hello, running win11, ff128. the tabs are currently located at the top of the window, just above the address bar.

how can the tab bar be relocated to the bottom of the screen / window directly above the taskbar?

a long time ago there was an extension "tabmixplus" that gave the option of locating the tabs anywhere, but firefox updates broke it. i then found a userchrome script that performed the desired action, but ff updates broke it.

advice? solution? userchrome script? extension? thanks

I know crypto is about to take off and is here to stay. We have web extensions for our users on Chrome but none for firefox bc you all don't support WebUSB. Can you fix this? We all want to fire chrome into the Ocean but cannot.

I know a lot of users would migrate if you did this!

How can I prevent the password manager popup from showing up? I don't like how Firefox just shows up all saved logins automatically every reload of `https://discord.com/channels/@me`.

Right now, the only way I can reliably switch profiles in Firefox is to go to about:profiles.

I'd like to be able to launch a profile from the terminal instead. I've tried these commands:

$ firefox -P "home" $ firefox --Profile "/Users/josh/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles/o4w0riri.home-1725314907557"

both result in the dialog "Open Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode?". From there, I can either refresh my profile or open in troubleshooting mode, neither of which is a desired option. If I don't specify a profile, it doesn't bring up the dialog, but it's not always the profile I want to open.

I used to be able to log in to a website, but lately I get the following message: " Secure Connection Failed An error occurred during a connection to www.connectnetwork.com. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR Error code: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified. Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem." If I use another route to reach the website, I can't login due to getting the same message. I have talked to their tech support staff and they say the problem is on my end. I tried reaching the website and logging in from another computer which also uses Firefox and was successful. So, how can I fix my computer so that I can reach the website and log in? Thanks.

Message is: Media could not be loaded, either because server or network failed or because format is not supported.

When I receive an email in Outlook that contains a hyperlink, I am unable to use it. When I click onthe link, Firefox opens a new Window (even when one is already running). The only tab on the new window is my default tab. The original hyperlink does not open. (Windows 11 and Firefox all up to date).

1) It is fine if I use Edge or Chrome as my default browser. 2) I have disabled all add-ons, and restarted (and rebooted) Firefox. Same result.

I have searched the community/known issues atc but none seem to specifically show this sort of behaviour.

Mozilla Firefox sign-in to kp.org keeps preventing me from doing this. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I get a message saying, "Turn off cookies. That is unacceptable unless I do it just for this site. Please fix this problem. I have read your responses to others, and I have too damn many sites I log into to "clear my cache." Please fix this problem, or I will have to stop using this browser I have used for years.

All of my other browsers sign into this site without a hitch. This is pure nonsense, especially since the problem is intermittent.

I can't connect to Amazon.com. I keep getting the following error message:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.amazon.com. PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

Error code: PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR

I think this is a problem with Firefox. Any suggestions or should I switch to a new web browser?

When I installed Firefox, I struggled to find a theme that was easy for me to see. So many had dark borders/backgrounds or busy backgrounds or transparent. It appears that I'm using the default at present and am happy with everything but the visibility of those little icons. Is there is a way to make them darker? Thanks
