Quite simply I replaced the dead power supply on an old PC of mine and booted it up to start using it again as a work PC.

When I did the now decade old version on firefox told me I might want a clean reboot which I clicked Ok since the history was so old on it as to be irrelevant. Firefox closed but didn't reboot. So I launched it again and simply chose not to restore the old tabs when prompted (not even some of them as that was also an option). I updated the old version on firefox I had on it before restarting it and logging into my firefox account to sync and try to transfer my work tabs to the old PC. When I did so I realized on the old PC that reopening Firefox didn't reopen where I had left off. I thought it was just the update but did a check nonetheless. Opening a couple of random tabs before exiting firefox and launching it again. It didn't reopen the last tabs. I checked the settings: "open previous windows and tabs" was checked. Did a brief google search that confirmed my next step: uncheck that box > exit firefox > launch firefox > check the box again > relaunch firefox. I did all that and was still not getting my tabs back.

Then I went back to my current PC (where I had changed nothing) and missclicked (I think I was going to the settings) exiting firefox there (3 windows and probably ~60 tabs ... yes I have a problem). And now even on my main PC firefox didn't restore windows and tabs!

I hoped I could go to history > reopen closed windows but no dice. The option is greyed out. That is also when I noticed I had no history whatsoever.

Now I unfortunately relaunched firefox a couple of times here trying to troubleshoot BEFORE I went online and saw that I could have possibly restored the last session using some backups.

With all that in mind can I still restore my tabs/history somehow? And why isn't firefox picking up where I leave it even though the option for it is on?

All of this is on firefox v148.0 on win10 for both PCs if that's relevant.

when attempting to login to 53.com credentials are entered, login pressed, login flashes but no login.... as if there is a pop up or something that should occur and doesn't. On edge it works fine, press login and a clock like symbol overlays the login button and then you are in....

Firefox will only start if I sign in as an administrator. It doesn't connect to the internet, and I can't get to the help screen. I did a refresh but that hasn't help. If I uninstall and then reinstall a new copy correct the problem? How do I save and reinstall my bookmarks and settings? I love Firefox and prefer it over other browsers. But I need to fix it and any help you provide will be very much appreciated. Thank you!

I am encountering an issue where, while searching for images on google, the images appear extremely low resolution. When I attempt to open the image in another tab, it remains extremely low resolution and low quality. The issue is not with the images themselves, as I am able to view them on my phone with higher resolution, it is just my desktop that experiences this issue. Please fix it.

When using vertical tabs layout with "expand sidebar on hover" setting enabled, sidebar scrolls up with each expansion, so that when hovering over a certain tab of collapsed sidebar, another open tab is under the mouse pointer when expanded. For additional details please refer to the attached video.

Steps to reproduce: 1. Enable vertical tabs layout with "expand sidebar on hover" setting 2. Open a lot of tabs 3. Hover over a certain tab

Observed result: The sidebar expands with mouse over another tab and the list of tabs scrolled up.

Expected result: The sidebar expands and mouse pointer is hovering over the same tab after expansion from collapsed state.

I need a fucking no on this setting, not a "not now". I do not want the browser to open on startup. But when I do want the browser open, there is the browser asking me again like an ex that wont get the hint.

I need to uninstal firefox because it is not opening, keep getting message to first close firefox !!! I can not close firefox because I can't get it to open in the first place.

FF is offering up possible login names for a particular site I have used previously even though I have removed all related browsing history, form data, and cookies (and cleared the cache). What am I missing? Is it using stored history for unrelated sites to guess at a user name, or is there some other hidden history I need to clear?

In all webpages, including Firefox settings pages, text appears like poorly chosen Cleartype settings. This does NOT apply to the menu and Address bars, nor the drop down options in "Which topic best describes your question?" that appears when asking a question here. Troubleshooting mode does NOT solve this, however switching profiles DOES, so I imagine there is a setting responsible for this however I've reset all font-related settings I could find. I've attached a screenshot of the result on this page. Choosing alternative fonts does NOT solve this.

Sometimes when I click on a stored bookmark all I get is a white page and no info.? when this happens I right click on the firefox icon in the taskbar and go to a new private window and after that I can get to the bookmarked site. wondering why this happens at times. I am using windows 10 for now but am planning to build another computer with windows 11 in the future.

Dear Mozilla, I have enjoyed Firefox and I always appreciated the vast headline stories recommended in the past. Recently, there seems to be a change where every recommended article requires a paid subscription, i.e. Slate Plus, I already pay WAPO, NYT, WSJ, San Diego Union Tribune, Arizona Republic that i cannot afford to pay each and every website. I would be very happy if you could tell me where in my settings i can set it to show only free articles or perhaps my screen could show a little green dollar sign saying if article was behind a paywall. thank you for your time in reading and assistance. My shortcuts keep disappearing from my home page when I turn my computer on. Sometimes it's fine, sometimes I have to spend a long time trying to find them. Sometimes I just have to restart Firefox. Sometimes I have to go into settings. Sometimes I can't work it out.

Has been happening for the past month or so.

Not sure if "browse" is the correct topic but here we go:

After a random crash (I don't remember the details, been a while) I've "refreshed" Firefox. Following that I started to have some problems with Google Meet. Haven't had any for years and suddenly when i open Google Meet (working from home and using Google Meet as an online meeting platform daily), everything becomes unresponsive. I can't change tab, cannot close Firefox from the close button, nothing. I open the Windows Task Manager and End Task manually to close the window so I can restart the browser. After restarting Firefox and launch Google Meet, it doesn't crash.

The other problem is when I try to watch something on Netflix, I hear the sound, see the subtitles but the video content is not present. It's just black screen with UI on it. Yes, I checked the DRM setting and no, other streaming services that I use don't have this problem. I can bypass this by launching Firefox in troubleshoot mode but I want to use my extensions. I even tried to enable them one-by-one to see if anyone causing problems but even when I disable all of my extensions like in the troubleshoot mode I'm still having the same problem.

I tried several solutions that I found on reddit etc. but nothing worked so far. I also re-installed Firefox and nothing changed.

Please help me before I lose my mind (:

with this new version i lost everything i need to get back to an older version and get all my extentions my bookmarks back all my s desktop items that i had linked to firefox are gone i can no longer get face book or anything back to firefox book marks every thing i had with firefox

When I'm on my phone and signed into my Firefox I want to be able to send tabs to my desktop. I'll click the three dots on my Samsung 20fe, click share, and click send to device. My p.c. is listed and when i click on it, a box pop's up and says "tab sent. I don't know where it's going, but it's not making it to my desk top. I've tried logging out and logging back in. on both devises

My Firefox shortcuts keep disappearing: this is an almost daily occurrence. Sometimes they re-appear later without any intervention, sometimes they re-appear after a reboot. Right now, after rebooting and 'fixing' Firefox from Control Panel, they are still missing. I have 4 rows configured for both shortcuts and recent sites, and had 'pinned' about 20 shortcuts. Currently on Windows 10, soon to upgrade to Windows 11.

Can someone PLEASE tell me if there is a fix available for this (will it be resolved in Win 11?), or if there is a way to easily save and restore these backups when this problem occurs.

The ability to have 32 shortcuts is the motivating reason for my using Firefox over Chrome or Edge (which only allow 8), but if they keep disappearing like this I'm going to have to re-think my browser selection.
