Is there a way to restore a window using less RAM, or if applicable, with regular garbage collection during the process?

While restoring a previously closed window, significantly more RAM is used than when reopening a session, for the same amount of tabs. So if the window ever gets closed and that state saved, I need to revert to a previous session backup. Attempting to restore the window caused ram usage to go up to 30 gigabytes and beyond, at which point I stopped the process out of caution. In contrast reopening the browser with the tabs normally is only about 5 gigabytes.

I regularly use Firefox with thousands of tabs open. This is usually not an issue but in some cases leads to performance issues like these.

For example, when I open a YouTube video on fullscreen, go to the desktop by pressing Win + D, and return to Firefox by pressing Win + D, the video is no longer on fullscreen, but my tabs and taskbar are invisible. It happens on every site with fullscreen, regardless of whether I watch video or play a web game.

I already tried to go into troubleshooting mode, but it did nothing. I also tried to remove fullscreen animation, but nothing again.

How to fix this bug?

Ref Firefox Ver 84.0.1 OS > Win 7-64 Dear Firefox Support,

I have already contacted MS support about the subject issue and they were no help.

I am trying to find out what is causing the issue and how to get rid of it.

I can't be sure but it may be caused by a Microsoft "START" App. The issue appeared

to begin about two weeks ago, so it's obviously caused by something new, which may be Microsoft related. Below is Dropbox link to a screen capture of the issue.

Any tips for ridding my PC / Firefox browser of the issue will be greatly appreciated.
And thank you for the superb browser.

This happens every time I restart Firefox. After "Close all windows" with 4 windows, session restore only restores 3. It seems to be the last window that was opened using "open new window". Off by one error? The tabs that were recently closed in that window aren't in the Recently Closed Tabs either. They do appear in "Show All History".

When I'm using the kayosports.com.au video streaming service website on Firefox (version: 110.0.1) the right arrow button to navigate the media content shelf rows does not register when clicked with the mouse. Previously I was using version 109 of Firefox and the same bug was happening with that version as well.

When using the kayosports.com.au website on other Web Browsers like Brave the right arrow button responses just fine when clicked with the mouse.

Hey guys!

I'm running Win 10pro, Microsoft Office Pro Plus 2021 and Firefox X64. I set Firefox as the default browser, but for some reason that setting isn't "sticking." If Edge is installed, I can't find it. Believe me, I tried, because I wanted to uninstall it if possible.

I'm still getting used to the new Outlook (I won't tell you what version I WAS using...) but this is throwing me for a loop...

If I do not have Firefox open: When I open a link in Outlook, a new window is opened in Firefox. This window does not include any toolbars nor are any of my customizations applied (themes, extensions) As a matter of fact, opening the link in this new bare-bones window disables all my extensions and if I want my theme back, I have to remove it from my theme manager and reinstall it, because the option to enable/disable the theme isn't there.

If I DO have Firefox open: When I open a link in Outlook, I get "Firefox is already running, but is not responding. The old Firefox process must be closed to open a new window." If I close Firefox, I'll get that same bare-bones window and all my extensions and themes are disabled.

Has anyone seen anything like this before and can you help?

Thanks a bunch....

I'm having trouble with my laptop battery and my laptop completely died. I got it working again but now Firefox doesn't have my logins for some reason. The Profile folder showed logins.json, logins.json.corrupt, and logins-backup.json. I changed logins.json to logins-old.json and changed logins.json.corrupt to logins.json like I saw in many solutions but that does not work. It just becomes logins.json.corrupt again. I tried the same with Logins-backup.json but still just changed to corrupt. I refreshed firefox but still the same. I made a new profile and copied the file and tried to get it to work there but still changes back to corrupt every time. I'm Windows 8.1 so there is no Previous Versions tab in properties so I can't go back to a previous version of the file. Is there ajny way to fix this and get my passwords back?

Hi

I'm using FireFox 111.0.1; the one provided by PopOS 22.04. For some weird reason it constantly logs me out of all my Google accounts, WHILE I'm using for example Gmail or Google Sheets. It's like the session expires out of nowhere and it redirects me back to the log-in page.

I find this so weird because this doesn't happen at all in other browsers. I checked my FireFox privacy settings and they're set to their default values: standard protection and no cookie clearing whatsoever.

What can I do to resolve this? Because it's really annoying that I get logged out every time. It doesn't happen for other accounts, only for my Google account.

Thanks in advance

Sometimes clicking on a link will work, sometimes not. Sometimes, in yahoo finance sometimes I can enlarge a graph to full page size, sometimes not. The issue is not with my computer or the website because I have no problems with Chrome (other than an aversion to their "privacy" policies). I don't like Microsoft Edge because of the constant invitations to buy microsoft products.

After the most recent (or possibly the one before) Firefox update, when I am streaming radio via a radio player website, the stream keeps switching itself off after 10 minutes regardless of other activity on the machine.

Apparently, this was reported a while ago (ca. 2020) but has only affected my experience per the above updates.

Windows 10, latest Firefox version, e.g., url: https://siradio.si/val202/ but same behaviour with others sites.

I already have a profile with all the extensions, passwords, bookmarks, etc., that I want, with FDE. I want to start using Nightly, but dislike the continual moving of passwords & bookmarks, so I just want to use Firefox Sync for this.

(1) Is Sync a good option for me here? I would use FDE & Nightly on the same laptop.

(2) If my plan is ok, what is the best way to start with a new Nightly profile (which I would then Sync)? I tried deleting my old Nightly profile, uninstalling Nightly, and then downloading & uninstalling Nightly again, but every time I do this (including a reboot after uninstalling), I get a profile cannot be loaded error message every time I try to start Nightly. I don't want to use an old profile with Nightly, because I do not want to sync old data at all.

Suggestions?

I have KODI/Linux as my means to Watch TV & Movies.

I also like to watch AFL Football, Live Streamed using Kayo Subscription on Firefox.

When watching AFL Football Video Streaming, I encounter a Serious Video Buffering Problem, whereby the Video constantly stops, but the Audio continues. I do not Stream other Videos.

I have read an article that states that Bitrate can be adjusted to improve this annoying condition, but I cannot find a Setting for this in my Firefox or other Browsers.

Can an Expert on Live Streaming pass Comment on this Problem and how it can be corrected at the Customers End. Thank you.

In Firefox Settings I have PDF downloads set to 'Always Ask' ... this used to work well enough (although, depending on my file download dialog choice to 'Open with Firefox', 'Open with - Adobe Acrobat Reader DC' or 'Save File', I seem to be accumulating duplicate PDF file copies in Downloads\Mozilla.org\Downloads ... the duplicate file redundancy is very annoying), however, with the latest update to Firefox, now I am unable to direct download PDFs from the down-arrow symbol within a given e-mail's Gmail attachment icon ... I can view the file in Gmail by clicking on the body of the Gmail attachment icon but the download button within the Gmail file viewer (top right) doesn't work either. So far as I can tell, this behaviour is confined to Gmail alone (i.e.: https://mail.google.com/mail/u/1/#inbox) ... I am able to get the file download dialog for PDF document download links at other websites and successfully retrieve PDF files. What have the developers changed now? Whatever it was, quit it.

For the last two days, I have been unable to properly open AOL on my laptop using my default browser, Firefox. No ability to read email and the whole presentation was drastically different and unusable. I can open AOL just fine on my IPhone through the AOL app or by just checking mail. I called tech support at AOL and they directed me to use a different browser. I switched to Google Chrome and could see the normal AOL in both the classic and new format. I hope that you figure out what the interface problem is as I prefer Firefox's privacy and other policies. But I can't use it on my laptop unless you solve the problem. Just sayin'.
