for some weeks now, Firefox (latest, in Windows) crashes, or says 'not closed properly' and shows (usually) 12 'instances' in Task Manager when only one tab has been opened. I'm not techie, and need clear advice. Can anyone help please? Hugh, UK

Is it a known issue that opening JIRA web pages immediately crashes and closes the Firefox browser on Windows 11. It never happened on Windows 10 however due to Windows 10 end of life we've been forced to upgrade at work. Now this crashes on a key webpage (we're software delevelopers). So we might have to change to Chrome which I really don't want to do. It would be great if you could find any or many crash reports I've filed and fix the issue.

I GOT TIRED OF FREQUENT FIREFOX CRASHES (C0000005) IN BOTH THE 64-BIT AND 32-BIT DESKTOP VERSIONS. I HAVE BEEN USING THE 64-BIT VERSION IN WINDOWS 11 (I HAVE A HIGH-END SAGER LAPTOP WITH 32GB RAM. I INSTALLED THE FREQUENT FIREFOX UPDATES BUT THE PROBLEN PERSISTED EVER SINCE VERSIONS 42X WERE RELEASED. I TRIED THE 32-BIT VERSION BUT THE PROBLEM PERSISTED. FINALLED, I TRIED THE DEVELOPER VERSION: NO MORE CRASHES! I READ THE RESPONSES FROM YOUR CLUELESS STAFF TO OTHER CUSTOMERS WITH THE SAME TROUBLE. THIS IS NOT A WINDOWS ERROR; THIS IS A FIREFOX APPLICATION ERROR. MAYBE SOME OF YOUR FIREFOX DEVELOPER CODERS SHOULD ASSIST THE 32-BIT AND 64-BIT DEVELOPERS. I've gone through the various troubleshooting options over the last month or so and Firefox is still crashing constantly for me, even in Troubleshooting mode. I had firefox for 5 years it worked great then I upgraded one day about a month ago and NOW I have had to Force Quit firefox 20 out of the last 30 days. engineers ??????????????????

Every time I make Firefox full-screen, it immediately crashes and shuts down. I have restarted the computer, uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, but it still doesn't work.

As the title states, every time I try to zoom into a page using pinch and zoom with my touch-pad, firefox nightly crashes. However, if I try to zoom in using CTRL+ and CTRL-, it works just fine.

I have tried to disable hardware acceleration but it didnt help.

Hello, I have ran into issues with the file upload window in firefox locking the program. I am not quite sure if I have tried uploading anything since the last update a few days ago, but it happens regardless of the website I use. It basically just freezes up as soon as it opens the file explorer window. I tried on chrome with no issues so it doesn't seem to be a windows thing as far as I can tell. I restarted my pc to see if that would help, but with no luck. I opened up task manager when this was happening to check what was going on and firefox seemed to be stuck using almost all the ram on my system 15.7 out of 16gb.

Anyone have this issue occurring in the last few days? Any thoughts on how to fix?

When I close a video site tab, Firefox freezes and becomes unresponsive. After restarting Firefox from a force quit, I sometimes see a message like: “Bookmarks may not be visible or things may not look normal. Another instance of Firefox is running.” (I don’t remember the exact wording.) In that case, my bookmarks look like they are missing. If I close Firefox again and restart it, the bookmarks reappear, but I am logged out of every site and have to add all my accounts again from the beginning.

This means I have to log back into every single account again, like YouTube and others, which is very inconvenient.

I’ve been using Firefox for over 10 years, and I’ve never experienced this problem before. It doesn’t happen all the time, but it occurs periodically — sometimes every few days, sometimes every few weeks. This never used to happen in the past.

Please, I really need help with this issue. If I back up my cookies beforehand, would restoring them after such a crash bring everything back to normal?

I have been getting this error for about a week - absolutelyu no changes have been made to my usual use of the PC and browser. There may have been Firefox/Windows updates installed. I'm not doing anything different to the usual work I do.

I have tried using a new Firefox profile with no cached info carried over, this doesn't solve the problem. I have no extensions or add ons. I do run Avast, but haven't had this problem before.

It appears that I have a zombie Firefox browser running because when I close the browser using the top right 'X' button, the Firefox processes are still running when I check Task Manager.

If I end the Firefox task and reopen Firefox the first attempt seems to be stuck crashing because there's no crash log, but I can see in the task manager there's a crashhelper. A second attempt opens just fine, but the issue with that is my previously opened browsers are gone even with the setting to reopen them is enabled.

I've tried reinstalling, disabling my extensions, and updating Java, but none of these resolve the issue.
