Recently installed a "cleaner" app called PrivaZer. Ran the app and rebooted as part of the process which also included creating a restore point. Once system rebooted and logged in, pinned tabs were gone?! Using the created restore point did NOT restore the pinned tabs. Is there a way to recover the pinned tabs? Thanks in advance. FRANK

For some time now, when I download a .pptx, .xlsx og .docx Firefox changes the file format to .pdf when downloading the file. I then have to manually choose the correct app for opening the file, overrule error messages and delete the ".pdf" when re-saving the file even though it recognises it is not really a pdf file.

I've tried to change the Firefox settings, clearing cache, restarting or deleting in config and other small attempts to reboot whatever suddenly started to cause this problem. As far as I can see, it is not an unknown issue, but I've not yet been able to find a solution to my problem, which is getting on my nerves.

I have 228 kb of cached web content that refuses to clear. Say there is 1.5 mb cached, and when I clear, the 228 kb is still there. It interferes with a web site I visit. Please help me get rid of this! Thanks in advance.

I have disabled sponsored shortcuts in Firefox settings, and did this when I first set up my browser.

Today when launching my browser the first link in my shortcuts was to @Google which I specifically do not use. I do not use google search. I do not want google search. I do not want cookies or content from google.

Why was this sponsored shortcut pushed to my browser after I disabled sponsored shortcuts?

I have a new desktop. I checked the box in Settings to "Always ask you where to save files." However, it's still dumping files in Downloads without asking.

Why, and how do we correct that?

Despite having the Pop-ups box ticked, I continue to get these 4 in a row, from McAfee. I have been running a system clean for 3 days, and still get these pop-ups. I have TotalAV, but nothing I do has made a difference.

I can no longer use my camera on firefox, firefox displayed some message about camera when we were trying to chat, but I missed it, I have granted relevant permissions on the site, that we use reularly. The camera icon on the address bar appears red, and I noticed that in Windows security, it lists firefox access requests, but shows no way to grant these requests.

I am not tech minded so please if anyone could keep it simple, I would appreciate it.

I already turned pff the graphic tab preview, but the tab title still pops up when I move my mpuse pointer on a tab. I do not need this and find it terribly annoying. How do I completely deactive this?

My old hard drive died I couldn't recover it. I cannot mount the disk to another OS etc. The session files cannot be retrived. However I had over 100 tabs open in Firefox I want to retrieve before the disk crashed. I was signed in to firefox all the time in the old computer.

I now have a new computer, I signed in to firefox and I can recover the bookmarks. But I don't see any option to recover the lots of tabs and sessions from my previous dead disk. It seems there is tab sync options between 2 devices that is concurrently signed in. But I can't sign in to a dead disk. I also can't recover the file.

How can I reteive my old sessions with many tabs? I'm hoping firefox have a way of knowing all my tabs since I was signed in and sync before the disk crash.

When I search for a Hebrew-language video on Firefox the resulting link text overlaps with the English text “Translate this page” for all YouTube videos. I don’t want any page translated and my Firefox Translation settings include no languages. The overlap only occurs on YouTube video links. How can I get rid of the “Translate this page” text? Several weeks ago, I was attempting to upgrade from Windows 10 to Windows 11. In the process, I deleted Firefox (using Revo Uninstaller) and then reinstalled it, downloading it from the Mozilla website. Unfortunately, it didn’t run, giving me, at different attempts, different error messages. In the time since then, I have read many suggestions from many different websites and I have tried some of these suggestions, all with no success – until today. I have just completed the suggestions made on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1327628 and Firefox is now back, working. I am happy and grateful, but not finished. None of my personal data came with the currently functioning version of Firefox. Since the re-emergence of Firefox, I have been reading several websites dealing with copy, backup and restore of my Firefox profile. Right now, the path C:\Users\rsuth\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ shows 5 folders: Two of the folders show 11/11/24 as the date modified (probably the date of the download from Mozilla). The folder 0dppjrfa.default contains one file, times.json, dated 8/11/2020. The other folder, ru82tlj5.default-release, has 97 items, most dated 11/11/2024. The remaining three folders are all dated 12/2/24 (today, as I write this). One folder’s name ends .default, the second name ends .default-release, and the third name ends .default-release-thirteen digits. The question that I am asking here is what do I do next to, hopefully, bring back the personal date I had with Firefox before my updating to Windows 11. Should I delete the folders dated 12/2/24? What, if anything, is the significance of the folder whose name ends in 13 digits? I’m hoping someone will be able to tell me how to fix these Firefox problems. And if I can, then I hope to be able to do something similar to help me bring back Thunderbird as well. Thunderbird became unfunctioning at the same time as Firefox. Thank you.

Kroger web site will not open with fire fox but will open with google chrome. It is my survey site http: not https. I have this setting under privacy and settings. After last update, when I open the bookmark sidebar (CTRL+B) and change its size (width), and then close Firefox, sidebar's width change to previous size.

Hello, I am writing to you because there have been some problems with YouTube lately when using Firefox. The video won't buffer more than a few seconds, and sometimes I receive an error message saying, "There was an error. Try refreshing the page or try again later." I tried using Safari on my phone, and it is working just fine, so it looks like it is not my internet connection. I am using uBlock Origin and other add-ons. First of all, mods, if I chose the wrong category and this had to go in "customize settings and preferences" feel free to move it :)

So, for several reasons I decided to completely disable SSL and the old TLS 1.0 and 1.1. I still didn't decide if TLS 1.2 is still important or it's enough with 1.3 so for now I am leaving them both. I did this system wide, with PowerShell, following the instructions in THIS THIS article.

But then there's Firefox. I don't know if Firefox can establish SSL (or old TLS) connections despite the system "ban". But I came across THIS THIS article about how to enable TLS 1.3 in Firefox and when I went in about:config and I typed "security" I saw that there are a lot of voices with SSL and a lot more about TLS than just the security.tls.version.max mentioned in that article, so I am here to ask you what to do to be 1000% sure that all SSL and older TLS are completely disabled in Firefox, and that only TLS 1.3 is enabled.

If you have reasons to believe that disabling TLS 1.2 is not a good idea, let me know, but in THIS THIS article I've read that 1.3 is much better and it's anyway backwards compatible with 1.2 in case some server only supports 1.2, so I decided to leave only 1.3.
